Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)

Tried this last year... not a bad cleanser... I was looking for a cleanser I could buy on the store shelves instead of the sage facial shampoo Ive been using since 2001 that I have to purchase online only.... This cleanser cleans my face it just takes a bit more pumped out to really feel clean... but it doesn't break my face out. They had a small trial size which was perfect and is great for trips.Overall a good cleanser but sage is the HG of cleansers!
I can't say enough about this product. Not sure why I didn't review it when I first joined this board.. been using it since 2001. It really cleans my face yet doesnt completely dry it out and only contains a few ingredients. You can feel good about putting this on your skin but the best thing is it does not cause sensitive skin to break out. Ive tried the sensitive skin facial shampoo before and it just doesn't clean as well as the regular strength for me. Its a pain to order it sometimes having to wait by mail but I just buy a good amount at once and then only have to purchase maybe two or three times a year. I get the big pump. I like being able to clean my face in 1 step. The corrective grains are ok too but for budgeting you could go with only the facial shampoo. I only use the facial shampoo and the spf 40. The spf 40 is very moisturizing. I use another facial cream in the morning then slather on the spf 40 and then my makeup ( my skin is pretty dry) and my face feels so good! I can do without the other products but have to have the facial shampoo. I wish there was a buying option at a store and that it didn't have to be online but once you try it you are hooked and you don't want anything on the store shelf!
Powder -Pur Minerals - 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup (new formula)

I have yet to find a powder foundation that I like... with that being said I gave this a try and just don't like the flat look it gives my face. I have to put on quite a bit to get medium coverage and then it looks somewhat cakey. I do have dry skin. I have always been a liquid foundation fan and I like to have a touch of dewyness. You will not get that with this foundation. I took it back to Ulta and they gave me a refund so no harm done. Was disappointed with this. Always looking for something better than I currently use.
Liquid -Christian Dior - DiorSkin Forever Extreme Wear Flawless Makeup SPF

I tried this foundation for a few months after I got fed up with the lousy pump on the Dior Nude foundation that would give out with every bottle! ( I hear it is fixed now?) This foundation gives more coverage than Dior Nude but doesn't make your skin look as flawless. Its not bad but if you are going to wear it for more than an hr- check the mirror because like others have said it does oxidize and leave you orangy looking. It does have better staying power than Dior nude (that being said I didn't use a primer, only a powder). My suggestion is pick the lighter shade when you try on the foundation because it will get orangy/darker. Get a couple samples in different shades before you spend the money. I also found I need more hydration as my skin is dry, but it wasn't weighty and neither was dior nude.

I was using this foundation for over a year but 2 problems: skin started becoming dryer ( I don't think it was the makeups fault) and the pump was lousy. I didn't have time sometimes to deal with the pump, not knowing if it was going to work right or not! And being the glass bottle design, it's hard to get the makeup out when your pump decides to never work again and you know theres 1/2 the bottle left! I've heard that this has been fixed?? But I made the choice to try some other foundations since then. This foundation will make you look flawless- gives you beautiful skin- I would reapply or wear a primer/good powder to increase staying power. Not good for dry skin unless you find some other products to help you hydrate. With that said, its a great foundation and can give light to medium buildable coverage. I may retry it now since I have added extra moisturizers, etc for hydration, but I do love EL futurist right now.
Didn't work for me. Went on good but coverage a bit more sheer than I like. I like makeup to cover under my eyes and most of my freckles. Foundation made my dry skin dry out more- not hydrating at all. I could feel this foundation all day! Maybe cause I was so dry.... also I started to breakout in my forehead area. I do have somewhat sensitive skin but rarely breakout. This foundation might work for you if you are combo/oily skin/not sensitive and want a light to medium foundation. Good for me that I used samples and didn't waste any $.
Right now this is my HG foundation!! I do have dry/somewhat sensitive skin and this makeup goes on like velvet and hydrates my skin all day long! I don't feel like I am wearing it and it looks a bit dewy at first, but never shiny/oily. I have used this foundation for 4 months and no breakouts! Great coverage and shade matches very well!! Recently I tried another foundation with good ratings and I was so dry all day and then I broke out! This is a very good foundation for medium+ coverage and dryer skin types. Probably would be ok for normal skin but probably not for oily skin.
Moisturizers -Estee Lauder - Hydrationist Maximum Moisture Creme

Wow! This is a great moisture cream if you have dry skin! It really does hydrate from the inside out. Being in my 30's my skin is so dry now and this has been a huge help! no breakouts! no crazy shine and GREASE as with many others! I'm very impressed and will keep buying! Doesn't feel thick like wearing a mask- it ABSORBS into your skin and actually makes it softer! So thankful I tried this. Get a sample at the counters before you commit. I would have gotten the pump instead but was told it wasn't as hydrating and I also tried a packet of it before hand and it wasn't enough. For maximum moisture go with the cream for dry skin/ maximum moisure/hydration.
Cleansers -Neutrogena - Naturals - Purifying Facial Cleanser

I bought this because I ran out of my sage facial shampoo. I thought I would try something with either witch hazel or aloe. while this was about the most costly cleanser at walgreens I figured it was cheaper than sage and I could buy it rather than have to have it shipped. I used it one time and was very disappointed. The cleanser is extremely frothy/sudsy and my face did not feel clean!!! Cant say my face was red or broke out after one use but just the cleansing feeling and feeling like I had cleanser and makeup still on was not good! I threw it away- couldn't even bring myself to use it in the shower. Maybe its better than alot of the garbage being sold as cleansers but still not worth buying!!
