Shampoo -TRESemme - Clarifying Shampoo
jenniferluvsmakeup 12/13/2012 12:37:00 PM
I have extremely oily skin and hair. With my hair I cannot go a day without washing it and I have to be careful with what shampoos I use...it seems like just about everything I used would make my hair look like a big greaseball...until I started using this. This is indeed "clarifying." It cleans my scalp so well. You must use conditioner when using this shampoo though. For those who don't have oily scalps, I would recommend using this once a week to get rid of any build-up. For those with oily hair like me, using this once a day is a must. This product is cheap and comes in a big bottle. Love it...it's changed my hair for the better.

Foundations -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination/Oily Skin
jenniferluvsmakeup 12/13/2012 12:27:00 PM
I had used this for years but have now converted to the cheaper, and better NYC's smooth liquid foundation. ColorStay has great coverage, but it doesn't matter how I apply it, it always looks cakey. It holds up to oil okay, but not as well as my NYC. Plus with ColorStay, once the oil starts coming mid-day, my makeup starts looking gross. It also feels like it's just sitting there on my skin and it's hard to wash off. My husband was glad when I stopped using this. I gave it 4 lippies for the good coverage though.

Blush -L'Oreal - True Match Superblendable Blush in Innocent Flush

I've used this blush for years. It gives me a natural looking flush that doesn't fade. I don't use the brush that comes with it though.

Loose Powders -New York Color - loose translucent powder
jenniferluvsmakeup 12/13/2012 12:12:00 PM
I love this powder. When paired with NYC's smooth liquid foundation my makeup looks good and holds up throughout the day. It doesn't add any color and sets my foundation without making it look cakey. When I apply I actually use the puff it comes with. I take off the clear plastic sieve to get to the product. It's such a good product and it's so cheap...you can't go wrong with this one.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aztec - Indian Healing Clay
jenniferluvsmakeup 12/13/2012 11:55:00 AM
I use this mask once a week. The effects of it are not dramatic, but after a few weeks of using it I have noticed a difference in the size of my pores on my nose. I use about one tablespoon of the powder with the raw apple cider vinegar and apply a thin layer on my face. I rinse it off after 20 minutes with cold water. It hurts when it rinses off, but my skin feel really smooth afterwards. I wish the effects of the mask were more noticeable, but I don't feel comfortable using it more than once a week. I will repurchase when I run out (it will probably take a while...the container is huge!) and maybe with continued use I'll see even more of an improvement.

Foundations -New York Color - Smooth Skin Liquid Makeup

This is my favorite foundation. It's cheap and it covers well without looking cakey. Like other reviewers have noted though, it's impossible to get any product out. It's really weird...you can shake the bottle forever and the stuff just doesn't budge. I just use a q-tip to get it out, dab some on my skin, and then I use my hand to blend. I have light skin, and though the shade Ivory looks fine, I prefer the Nude shade.

Sunscreen -EltaMD - UV Clear SPF 46
jenniferluvsmakeup 12/4/2012 8:32:00 AM
This is my HG sunscreen for my face. I have never liked wearing sunscreen on my face because of my oily skin, but this one is amazing. It absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling normal, maybe even somewhat matte. It works great on its own and holds up nicely under makeup. My only complaint is the bottle! It's too small (I guess it's nice if you want to carry it in your purse) and it's hard to gauge how much product is left. My solution is to just have an extra one on hand at all times, that way if I run out unexpectedly I won't have to wait for another bottle to come in the mail. One full pump is enough to cover my face liberally, plus some left over to cover the front of my neck. Overall, a great product.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Milk of Magnesia

This product works GREAT for my VERY oily skin. It's ridiculous how oily my skin gets. Without this product my makeup looks like a big mess after a couple of hours. I use the Phillips brand, original flavor. I SHAKE it up, pour a little bit of the product into the cap, then use a cotton ball to wipe the product onto my face. I put it everywhere, including my eyelids, because even my eyelids get oily, lol. Then you need to let it DRY. After it dries I then put my foundation on, along with the rest of my makeup. I don't recommend using this product by itself because it's pretty impossible to apply it without leaving streaks, so I only use this product when I'm wearing makeup. I love it though...highly recommend. UPDATE: I've been doing weekly treatments of lactic acid peels and it has helped significantly with my oily skin, to the point where I no longer have to use this product on a daily basis. I've reserved my milk of magnesia for special occasions like when I go out at night, and I want to be assured that I "hold up" throughout the night. It'll probably come in handy again when the weather starts getting hot and humid in the spring/summer.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lemon Juice
jenniferluvsmakeup 10/29/2012 6:46:00 PM
Lemon juice has helped even out my skin tone. They're really cheap and I only use half a lemon a night. Sometimes I cut the lemon in half and take one half and rub it directly on my face. Other times I'll actually squeeze the juice out and use a cotton ball and swab the juice on my face. Then I'll wash it off. I might start using it less frequently since I've almost reached my desired skin tone, but we'll see. Don't expect dramatic results, but it will help to even out and brighten your complexion somewhat if used on a daily basis. UPDATE: I went for a while without using this and my skin started to look dull again. This is definitely something you need to keep up with if you want an all-natural way to help your complexion.

Toners -Unlisted Brand - isopropyl alcohol
jenniferluvsmakeup 3/22/2010 10:18:00 AM
After 11 years of suffering from acne I finally found my cure. After washing my face I use the 70% solution as a toner to get excess dirt and makeup off. No other toner has been able to clean as effectively as this isopropyl alcohol. My face is acne-free and it feels so smooth. I don't think that anyone with dry skin, or even combination skin would be able to use this, but with my super oily skin, this is my lucky charm.I highly recommend this inexpensive remedy to anyone who is trying to eliminate their acne. If only I had known about this eleven years earlier...
