Eyeliner -Fyrinnae - Inks Liquid Eyeliner in Ninja
jennasings 5/2/2008 9:37:00 AM
I'm a liquid liner newbie, but the brushes on the Fyrinnae liners make life a lot easier. I had originally purchased this for use on my waterline, but it faded pretty quickly (unless I layered it with a pencil). On my upper lid and for tightlining, though, this is amazing! It is a lovely dark black, and the brush allows me to go as thick or thin as I want to. For the price, its an amazing value, and I really like the company's principles, as well. I love the Ink in Ninja, and if I manage to use it up, I'll definitely repurchase

Primer/ Corrector -Fyrinnae - Fyrinnae Rice Powder Primer
jennasings 4/28/2008 2:30:00 PM
If you are oily, this product will absorb the oil better than anything I've ever encountered. It even absorbed the Aquaphor that I put on an irritated nose. The best thing about this product, though, is that no matter what condition my skin is in (oily, normal, dry, combo, whatever), this is always a great primer. The packaging is kind of inconvenient, but for the price and the performance, this is HG material for me! If I ever run out, I will definitely purchase again...and again...and again!

Concealers -Vincent Longo - Cream concealer
jennasings 4/5/2008 11:40:00 PM
I got the sample of this concealer from Sephora, and I was hooked for awhile, or at least hooked enough to finish off the sample and buy the full-size. Unfortunately, this concealer tends to slide off my face after a few hours, even with primer. I loved the texture under my eyes, and the color matched my skin perfectly, but the fact that it came off so quickly was a deal-breaker, since it was so expensive.

Liquid -Becca - Luminous Skin Color sheer foundation
jennasings 4/5/2008 12:00:00 PM
I never bought this in the first place (received in a swap), and I'm not sure if I'll buy it again (though I'm saying yes because I'm on the fence). I usually use this as a tinted moisturizer to even out my complexion, then put my primer and MAC MSF Natural over it. It's really sheer, which is nice, and it does a decent job of making my skin look like it's once uniform color. I just don't possess the BECCA love that a lot of MUAers do. EDIT: Since I've started on Tazorac, and my oily skin has become the Sahara in places, I've started to appreciate this product a lot more. I added one more lippy, and I hope that when my skin gets better, it will replace my normal foundation!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Painterly
jennasings 4/5/2008 11:54:00 AM
I absolutely love this product! Without a primer or base, eyeshadow tends to fade away on me, which is a really disappointing experience when you've worked so hard on your EOTD. That will never happen to me, thanks to Painterly! It matches my skin perfectly, doesn't break out my sensitive skin, and creates a great base that holds my eyeshadow on all day. My only complaint is that it's hard to remove from a brush during a quick brush cleaning, but it isn't a problem when I'm doing a thorough cleaning. I'm going through my first pot quite quickly, and I will definitely buy it again.

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Glimmer- True Gold
jennasings 4/1/2008 5:46:00 PM
I swapped away both containers of this that I had. It's a lovely color, and I hope to find a duplicate of it in solid form. i just have a huge issue with the little sifter tubs. I think they're messy and wasteful, personally. But this shadow looks good dry or foiled, although it tends to fade fairly quickly, even with primer. If you're a big fan of BE, go ahead and buy this, but otherwise, don't.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Aquafina Advanced Hydration Hydrating Facial Spray
jennasings 3/22/2008 12:02:00 PM
I have combo skin, and I often wake up with a super-oily T-zone. I started spraying this on at night after cleansing, and I haven't woken up with that oil slick. I also use this instead of a regular moisturizer when it's humid outside. I found it for $2.50 US at my Wal-mart, and I plan to visit every store within a 50 mile radius of my house to stock up!

Liquid -Clinique - Superbalanced Foundation
jennasings 3/18/2008 10:39:00 PM
Since this product was supposedly designed for combination skin, I really wanted this to be a HG. The color matched very well, and my face looked flawless...for about three hours, before it came off, even when I wore it with primer and a powder on top. Also, you definitely need a concealer with this foundation. The packaging is also somewhat disappointing, because the hole is very small, and the square packaging makes it difficult to see how much is left. I don't dislike it so much that I would return it, and I am content to use it up, but I won't buy this again.

Cleansers -Cerave - Hydrating Cleanser
jennasings 3/18/2008 10:34:00 PM
I have combination, sensitive, acne-prone skin, and this works amazingly well to balance my oily and dry parts, without drying me out or making me break out. I use it every morning with my Clarisonic facial brush, and my skin continues to feel great throughout the day. I wish it came in a smaller size, though--the huge pump bottle takes up a lot of room in my shower, and I have to put it into a smaller bottle for traveling. EDIT, 4/3/08: I lied. I have been having terrible breakout on my chin, and as soon as I stopped using this, they went away.

Powder -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light Medium [DISCONTINUED]
jennasings 3/18/2008 10:32:00 PM
I tried tons of liquid foundations, a bunch of powdered ones, and even a few creams. This has become my HG foundation. It looks natural on my skin (NW20), but I still look polished and almost flawless. I use a big powder brush for the days I want light coverage, and a kabuki brush for the days when I need a little bit more. My sensitive, acne-prone combo skin loves this! I wear it with concealer, and that is all I need on my face! I highly recommend this as a foundation by itself, but not as much as a setting powder for liquid foundations, because sometimes it appears cakey.

Hair -Pureology - Shine Max
jennasings 3/18/2008 10:27:00 PM
I actually love the glue-bottle style packaging, because it's so much easier to only get a little bit at a time. I really liked this product a lot, but it gave me little zits around my hairline, so if you have sensitive or acne-prone skin, I would caution you to stay away from it. Otherwise, it does an awesome job of making your hair incredibly shiny.

Shampoo -Pureology - Super Straight Shampoo
jennasings 3/18/2008 10:22:00 PM
Luckily for me, my mother decided to buy this for me prior to my wedding, so I didn't pay for it. The price is kind of steep, but I think it's worth it. I really like the scent of this, and I definitely noticed a difference in the drying time of my hair. I don't think my hair was any straighter, but it had great volume, wasn't frizzy, and was in great condition.

Shampoo -Suave - Daily Clarifying Shampoo
jennasings 3/18/2008 10:18:00 PM
I only wash my hair every few days, because I'm really picky about making my highlights last a long time. When I do wash it, I usually have a fair amount of build up that I want to get rid of. I really like this shampoo because it's cheap, it works well, and it's gentle on my hair, while still removing all of the icky stuff in my roots. I also use it for cleaning makeup brushes and my Clarisonic brush heads, and it cleans them amazingly well, and doesn't damage them, either.

Skincare - Body -Mary Kay - Satin Hands Hand Cream with Sunscreen SPF 4
jennasings 3/18/2008 10:15:00 PM
I received this as a sample at an MK event. I really like the small size of the sample because it fits in my purse so easily, but I'm not completely certain that I would buy the full size. I don't mind the old lady smell, because I've found that it dissipates quickly. It made my winter-dry hands soft again, and helped cure my peeling cuticles. If I could get this for free in the sample size forever, I would be really happy!

Lotions/ Creams -Bliss Labs - Naked Body Butter
jennasings 3/18/2008 10:10:00 PM
I'm another Sephora birthday recipient. I thought it would be great as a hand cream for my purse, since it's winter and my hands are dry, and it's so little. Unfortunately, it also takes forever to absorb, and if you don't spend the time waiting for it to absorb, it flakes off in little dirty pieces--GROSS! I'm fine with having it as a quick sample, but I would never ever pay the almost $40 Bliss wants for it.
