Fragrances -Christian Dior - Diorissimo
jennadee 12/24/2011 9:46:00 PM
They reformulated this perfume in 2009 because of new rules in the EU and US regarding the listing of ingredients. There is no true lily of the valley in this, as LOTV is very poisonous. I won't go into that here, but basically there's nothing Dior can do about this. The rules have to do with allergens. My thinking is, if you're allergic to it, don't wear it, but I don't make the rules. Google search "diorissimo reformulations" for more information. I have been wearing the EDT of the new formulation for about a year and recently purchased the Parfum from Saks. The EDT doesn't last very long but still smells fresh as spring. The parfum, as you would expect, is darker, muskier, and not as green. I love it. It smells more like the version of the EDP i bought in 2001, which I left in a hotel room :( The parfum is very expensive, $140 for 15ml, but worth it. If I layer the parfum and the EDT then it really seems to have more staying power. I have uploaded a photo of the two bottles I have. I was freaked out when I saw how tiny the parfum was, but you really don't need very much! (and I am wearing Chanel's new Graphite nail polish in the photo.)

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Levres Scintillantes
jennadee 12/24/2011 9:29:00 PM
So pretty. I have this in Rose Dilemma. The sparkles are not overwhelming or childish, like the reviewer below stated. It's not sticky either and my long hair doesnt get caught in it. There's no flavor or scent, which I like. However it makes my lips peel (probably because of the lanolin.) I'd buy it again if I had some money to blow on lip gloss like I did this time.

Masks -Aveda - Intensive Hydrating Masque

It burns. My skin feels tighter after I wash it off. Smooth skin, but it doesn't feel any more moisturized than before.

Eyeliner -Chanel - Stylo Yeux Waterproof Ebene
jennadee 1/3/2010 6:35:00 PM
I was looking for a waterproof black eyeliner. YSL did not offer one advertised as waterproof so I went with this, despite the SA's insistence that Lancome made a better one. Stayed put on my top lids but not so much on the bottom; waterline coverage lasted about an hour. I love the sharpener and how smoothly it goes on, and the packaging is fab. However for the price, ehhh... I think I might try the lancome next time! I edited this because I dropped it and the eyeliner shattered inside the tube. I did love the tiny sharpener at the end of the tube but it's just not worth it. I like UD 24/7 waterproof liner in Zero and that's only $18. Literally stays on my waterline all day. Seriously.

Polishes -Chanel - Jade Rose
jennadee 11/17/2009 1:43:00 AM
I normally love Chanel nail polish and I love the complementary color Jade but this pink is just flat and unattractive. possibly useful for a french manicure, it doesn't look good on my toes or nails. can't detect the shimmer unless you get THISCLOSE. streaky and not pretty., if you are looking for a pretty pink get mica rose.

Not bad, I would definitely repurchase, although I suppose with the warranty I won't have to. Worth the price once I learned how to operate them!

Hair -Aveda - Color Conserve Shampoo & Conditioner
jennadee 7/13/2009 10:11:00 PM
I had blue streaks in my hair. I have dark brown hair so my stylist bleached the strips first. Now I've had pink hair and we all know that reds don't stay very long. So when she dyed it blue, I bought this shampoo. The blue dye she used was a paul mitchell inkworks? or something. It stuck around forever and I don't know if it was because of the dye or the shampoo, but I love this shampoo/conditioner. It smells so good, like summer and sunscreen. Now I'm still using it and my hair isn't even dyed. I have pretty thick hair so I can't use a really thick conditioner. For some reason this conditioner is perfect. I love both products and I'm on my second full size of each.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm
jennadee 7/13/2009 10:06:00 PM
I used to use this a lot and I liked it because it tingled. Now, it just makes my lips peel. I think it's because of the lanolin. I won't use any product with lanolin anymore because of this peeling it causes. Peeling = drier lips. So I stick with the medicated blistiex in the red and white tube and softlips (neither contain lanolin) DOWN WITH LANOLIN

Shampoo -Bumble & Bumble - Thickening Shampoo
jennadee 5/6/2009 10:41:00 PM
I have super thick hair already, so I don't know if this works or not. But I love the smell. It is my favorite smelling shampoo ever. Some bumble shampoos do not work with my hair, alojoba, gentle, seaweed, they all leave residue or something in my hair and my scalp gets itchy. I was surprised the thickening didn't do that. I just love it. I buy the $55 33oz bottle, if you buy the 8oz you are getting ripped off. If you like it, get the big one.

Powder -L'Oreal - Gentle Mineral Powder Foundation SPF 24
jennadee 5/3/2009 4:31:00 PM
I hate wearing foundation and powder because I hate the feeling of it on my face. Luckily I have pretty perfect skin and I've never had to wear it before. Lately though I've noticed some redness on the sides of my nose, probably due to using Biore pore strips. So I picked up this pressed powder and it works pretty well. I think I may have picked too light a shade but it doesn't feel cakey or too dry and offers minimal coverage. I like this a lot better than tinted moisturizers. I am glad I found this.

Tinted Moisturizer -Smashbox - Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15
jennadee 4/20/2009 10:01:00 PM
I used this for a couple months and I broke out even though I washed my face every night and morning. It was too dewy and i had to blot my face around noon, but it didn't seem to offer that much coverage, really. No thank you. I liked the other tinted moisturizer they had before, with the cooling tint.

Amazing, smells amazing, holds all day without being sticky. I just love it. Part of my daily routine. I use it when I chi my hair and it holds really well too. Too bad the travel sizes are 4 oz and can't be carried on planes :(

Treatments -Neutrogena - T/Gel
jennadee 3/2/2009 9:36:00 PM
When I turned about 20 years old I started getting dry, flaky, itchy patches on my scalp and tried switching shampoos, various things, until I tried this. This completely took care of my scalp problems. If I start to use another shampoo, in about a week my scalp acts up again. So, I use this along with another shampoo that is very rich. I find shampoos for curly hair are the best, because what fights frizz? moisturizing! so Tgel+a curly hair shampoo works wonders for me. I follow it up with any good conditoner, one that works especially well for me is Aveda Scalp Benefits or aveda color conserve to be the best with my scalp. Plus I really love the smell of Neutrogenas products, so i don't mind using this every day. I wish I got more out of the bottle so I usually buy the off brand, which works the same. I absolutely could not live without this tgel shampoo.

Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Styling Creme
jennadee 3/2/2009 9:26:00 PM
I've been using this for a year on my thick, dark hair. it gives me so much body, it's unreal. i have tried other gels, mousse, and creams, but never anything as good as this. it's not sticky (like aveda whip - no no no!) and it honestly makes my hair a little curly if i just let it air dry. my hair used to be super straight but as i've gotten older i have a wave in it now and this brings it out nicely. when i blowdry it just has lots of body without the curl. i bought the sample bottle twice thinking i didn't really like it, and then went six months without it. i will never be without this product again. my hair still looks good 12 hours after fixing it, seriously. it could just be my fantastic hair itself, the amazing haircut i got last week, i don't know. but this stuff holds all day. i follow it up with Spray De Mode and these are the only two bb products i would rebuy, i go to a bumble salon and believe me - I'VE TRIED THEM ALL! This styling creme is the best styling product i've ever used. I use this every day and it does not make my hair greasy and I use about a quarter sized amount.
