Lipstick -Revlon - Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - Honey

I think the color this ends up being may depend on the color of your lips, because on me Honey is a neutral pink with almost lavendar undertones. I get no brown at all from this shade. It turns into a brighter warmer pink when the stain sets. Although I LOVE the color when it's applied, I do not care as much for how it looks when it's stained. I wore it work because it's very appropriate for work when it's applied but becomes too bright later on. I wish it had more brown in it, then the stain would be closer to the color I wanted. Also it seems pointless to make a product smell but not feel minty so I am not sure why Revlon did that, just make it unscented. I would probably buy it again because I am so n love with the initial color, I would just maybe put a gloss over the stain.
Powder -Clinique - Perfectly Real Compact Powder Foundation

This would be a fine foundation on it's own if you have pretty good skin, and don't need much additional coverage. However I don't find it covers well enough for me to use it on it's own, BUT, using this on top of a tinted moisturizer is AWESOME. I use Aveeno Tinted Moisturizer, FYI. Because my skin can get oily around my nose, it's tricky to use regular foundation and powder. I need powder because the foundation tends to disappear around my nose, but the additional product tends to make the oiliness worse. I find the TM plus this product is the ideal combination for me and because the Aveeno provides some coverage, and this provides some coverage, together they give me enough coverage and concealer takes care of the rest. I don't know if just works well because the Aveeno happens to be a TM that has more coverage than most, but they do work brilliantly together. I do not need any touch ups when I set my TM with this in the morning. I will also use this to set my regular foundation during winter, and again I never need any touch ups. I find that works better in winter when my skin is less oily.
Primer/ Corrector -Too Faced - Primed and Poreless Powder

This is AMAZING stuff! I have used setting powders with silica but nothing I have used has been has effective or looked as natural as this. I was using Elf's High Definition powder which worked fine but it didn't last and made me look and feel like I had a white cast on my face. I like that I can use it as either a primer or a setting powder, but I have found better results using a regular primer (Too Faced Primed and Poreless) then setting my make up with this. It makes my face look so soft, and just makes my whole face look polished and blended. It does soften my blush, but I don't mind, because it makes my blush look more natural. You can use a little extra under the eyes and this makes an amazing setting powder for your concealor. I have used it as a primer for my powder foundation, it doesn't soften my pores as much used that way, but I didn't get oily midday like I normally do with powder foundations! Or any foundation really! Other positive notes: a very little goes a long way and the packaging allows you to save product because it doesn't go everywhere everytime you open the lid as long as you keep the sifter covered. It is expensive, but for what it does, how little you need, and how multi-purpose it is, I think it's not that bad cost wise.
I love this stuff! I have the Lemon Lip Cream too and I find it to be a bit too thin so it's sort of mess to apply out of the tube. But this stuff I love. It is very soft, so it is kind of delicate. That doesn't bother me too much because I love it so much, the lemony taste and scent and the ultra soft texture of the product. It melts on my lips and makes them feel super soft. THIS IS WAY BETTER than the OVERRATED EOS Lemon Lip Balm. The price doesn't bother me because BBW is always having sales on their lip products.
After trying almost all of the Covergirl Cheekers, I finally found one I really like. . Because it a) isn't overloaded with shimmer b) doesn't take a million swipes from the pan to get it to show up on my cheeks. It's a very pretty deep rosey pink. This isn't the blush I use to get ready. I like to keep this in my make up bag to touch up during the day since I don't like carrying my MAC blush for fear of it breaking or losing it, and it's small size doesn't take up much room in my make up bag. It's a nice blush that stays on reasonably well. I really don't like the smell, and I don't understand why CG includes a fragrance, but it's not unbearable. The price and the very portable size makes it ideal for on the go looks and touch ups. Cheekers are also great for experimenting if you don't know what color blush looks good on you but don't want to fork over $10 - $15 to try new blushes that don't work. They are on sale all the time at Walgreens Buy 1, Get 1 %50 so you can really try different colors without spending a fortune.
I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE this gloss. I bought Vanilla Cupcake. I had never seen it in my CVS so I thought it was a new item, but my CVS is kind of late in getting stuff. Anyways, this stuff has the most amazing consistency of any d/s lipgloss I've ever bought. I feels like a lipbalm but but it has just enough shine and nice subtle shimmer. I am going back to buy the other two, because the Dutch Chocolate looked delicious. I would only take a little off because you really don't get that much product. I think this will run out pretty quickly, but it's still a pretty great find.
I love this mascara! I have a ton of mascaras already, but I've been wearing this everyday since I bought a few weeks ago. It's the most buidable mascara I've ever used. I can put on 4 or 5 coats and it still doesn't flake or clump. This mascara gives really natural definition, volume and length, which makes it ideal to wear to work. I hated the original Lash Blast, but it seems like the formula for this version is drier which makes it so much easier to work with. Bonus points because it lasts all day and is easy to remove at night. I will definitely buy this again, but next time I'll buy Very Black.
Blush -E.L.F. - Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder
jenmhilton 10/2/2010 2:32:00 PM
I will give this 2 stars for the nice big mirror and 1 start for the bronzer which has pretty good pigmention with not too much shimmer. But the blush... UGH! The blush is horrible!! The blush gave me no colors but left shimmer all over my face. I think more blush falls out of the compact than ends up on my face. However for the price, the packaging is pretty good, and I think I will take out the blush and try to put something else in it's place. But I won't repurchase.
Bronzers -New York Color - Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny 720
jenmhilton 9/19/2010 4:12:00 PM
I really do like this product, but it has it's negatives. First the packaging is awful, even for cheap packaging it's bad. Second the product is not very pigmented. Now granted, I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing, I have to use more to get it to show up but I would rather do that then be stuck with brown orange skin after one brush of any other bronzer I've ever used. However, the fact that I have to use more to get it to show up, means it doesn't last very long. Lastly, it seems like the more I use it the poorer the quality is. It started out pretty good but now that I've hit pan, and once that happen the product has started to fall apart, the filler is more obvious. I still like it and will buy again, but it's definitely a case of you get what you pay for with this item.
I love idea of mixing the two colors, but unfortunately what you get with this product is a sticky goopy mess. You are also supposed to be able to swap out glosses from other sets. Again great idea but the execution is a failure. It is not worth the effort to try to switch them. The quality of the glosses themselves is nothing special and I have to wonder of all the HIP items that L'Oreal has discontinued, why THIS ONE sticks around.
I have several MAC eyeshadows and they are beautiful colors. I love the color range, and the variety of textures. I was disappointed that the eyeshadows faded as quickly as any drugstore brand I've ever owned. I wanted shadows that I could wear with having to apply a primer, and from all the raves about MAC eyeshadows I thought they would last on their own. However, the color range and textures outweigh whatever negative feelings I might have so that I will continue to buy new colors, and I will just a use a primer.
Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo 5 Piece Complexion Set
jenmhilton 8/13/2010 11:04:00 PM
I found this in Ulta, and I had never seen this particular set before, so I had to have it. The set contains a mini foundation brush, a large round and flat full coverage brush, a mini powder brush, bamboo powder puff, and cosmetic case. I like the idea of the mini foundation brush and mini powderbrush are really too small for their intended uses but I'm sure I will find plent of other uses. The real bonus here is the full coverage brush. It's really soft and perfect for use with compact powders and bronzers. It deposits just the right amount of color. I love it. I had just got a Kevyn Aucoin bronzer in the mail and now I have the perfect brush for it.
Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Color Sensational Lip Gloss (All Colors)
jenmhilton 8/11/2010 7:29:00 PM
I have a couple of these glosses, and I really love them. I originally got Sugared Honey, and I love that color. I had been wanting to get another color, but couldn't decide which one, until they came out with the pearl colors. I picked up Luminous Lilac, which is GORGEOUS. They aren't stick and they stay on my lips longer than most glosses, and the color selection is nice. I wish they had as many colors in the glosses as they do the lipsticks, but the colors they do have are very pretty neutral colors. I also love the simple but elegant packaging. I will keep buying more colors as long as they are available. I will agree that the product does have a sweet smell. It didn't bother me after I applied it, but I can see that if a person is sensitive to fragrances that it could bother them.
Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Shine Seduction - Magic Sunset 710
jenmhilton 8/10/2010 8:30:00 PM
This is such a beautiful color. I have had it for years, and I love it. Sadly I don't think Maybelline makes this anymore. Which is a shame because the color is beautiful, and this might be silly but I like the color name. Personally I don't care for the click up applicator, but otherwise it's a beautiful gloss.
Quite honestly this is the best lip gloss I've ever used quality wise. I bought this as a gift with purchase thing, and I only got it because I needed something else and I liked the color which is Dynamic. The color is gorgeous, and not only that but this really does last. Maybe not 8 hours, but frankly I don't pay attention to those types of claims anyway, but it lasts for quite a bit. Not only that but it as a nice texture, that isn't thick or greasy. It's thin so I can apply one layer for a more sheer look or add layers to get more color without feeling like I've piled on tons of gloss. The two main drawbacks are the smell, which I don't care that much for but it doesn't last after application. And of course the price. It expensive, and that prevents me from going back to get more colors, because I really can't afford to, but still I love it so much it may replace all my other glosses. I will definitely buy it again.
