Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara
rated 2 of 5
jellybabe23 4/1/2013 11:57:00 PM

I really wanted to like this mascara since I'm a total mascara junkie and have tried everything from drugstore to high end brands. The formula is wet, similar to the original pink and green tube. And for that, I have to be real careful otherwise it'll go on my eyelids and on my eyeshadow that I've worked oh so hard to blend. The mascara flattens out my curl after curling it with an eyelash curler. But, I wanted to give it a chance. So I did, for a week. I test drove it at work from 10am-6pm and it smudged like crazy. it made its way to blend together with my undereye concealer and onto my eyelids. I didn't buy the waterproof, so maybe that could be different. But for now, I will not repurchase the regular formula. Sorry, maybelline, I don't want to look like I was "born with" racoon eyes.

Conditioner -Garnier - Pure-Clean
rated 2 of 5
jellybabe23 3/5/2013 1:31:00 AM

So, the reason I bought this is because it was on clearance for $0.99 at my drugstore. As a broke college student, $0.99 for a conditioner always sounds great to me. But to my surprise, it would be the worst conditioner I have ever used in my life. Now, I always check MUA before buying a product, but, because it was so cheap, I couldn't resist, given the low ratings. Little did I know, this conditioner would leave my hair so greasy, I felt the need to wash it right after blow drying it. The texture is like body lotion, as other reviews have pointed out. It doesn't really coat my hair, more like it feels like my hair is kind of drinking it up--which may sound like a great thing..but not really. After washing it off, my hair felt soft and it smelled very nice--like fresh synthetic apples (such an oxymoron..lol), therefore I give it a 2 star rating. But it left my hair in worst shape than not putting conditioner at all. I'm glad I didn't go clearance crazy, buying 5 of these. I think I'm just going to use it as my shaving cream from now on, so it doesn't go to waste.

Liquid -Bobbi Brown - Skin Foundation SPF 15
rated 2 of 5
jellybabe23 3/4/2013 1:12:00 AM

This foundation is for people with very little blemishes or other skin problems. I have been using the product for 3 weeks now and because the shade matches me perfectly. For reference I am an NC40 and I use 4.5 Warm Natural. The formula is very thin and watery, which is probably good for normal skin types. For my oily skin, the product just slides off and never really absorbs. You can tell there's foundation sitting on top of my skin. Now, I have tried this with and without a primer, on top of moisturizer and without. And I get the same effect on my oily skin. I like that this foundation doesn't have that weird medicinal smell the other Bobbi Brown foundations have (I think Lavender oil is added, I could be wrong). Overall, for the price I paid, I would not repurchase because it doesn't provide the coverage and finish I want.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Length
rated 4 of 5
jellybabe23 1/24/2013 10:08:00 PM

Lash Blast length is perfect for the natural daytime mascara look. It doesn't clump, nor does it smudge when applied to my lower lashes. The brush doesn't take up too much product, so it doesn't give volume to the lashes--just length, but not too much. I like it for naturally, defined lashes because I hate the clumpy look. Great product for the price!

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
rated 5 of 5
jellybabe23 1/8/2013 3:28:00 AM

This is a great manual exfoliant that is easy to create. I ofcourse buy the uncoated/noncoated aspirin tablets. Powdered aspirin is also available but is more expensive. I use about 3-4 tablets per mask, put a few drops of water, and let it dissolve. In order for it to have a nice base, I use Cerave hydrating cleanser so my skin doesn't get too dry when I use this mask. So I mix the aspirin with Cerave, coat it on my face, leave i for 5-10 minutes and rinse. My face feel soft and clean and ready for the rest of my skincare. I suggest using a hydrating or moisturizing lotion or cleanser to add with the aspiring mask because the aspirin had a tendency to dry out the skin.

Mascara -Clinique - High Impact Mascara
rated 4 of 5
jellybabe23 12/13/2012 12:14:00 AM

I always get this mascara during the GWP season when I buy my moisturizer from Clinique. Anyway, the formula is fantastic--my lashes feel nice and soft and it's a perfect mix between a dry and wet formula. The brush is a traditional brush (i.e., not the hard, plastic wand you see nowadays). How I apply: curl my lashes with a regular eyelash curler, wipe off excess mascara on a tissue, then apply slowly. I do my bottom lashes first, then the top. The result: Perfect, natural and defined lashes for the daytime. If I feel like amping it up for the night, I don't wipe off the excess onto a tissue, I'll just apply straight from the tube. I have inserted a picture for you all the see. Highly recommend this mascara!

Treatments -Neutrogena - Rapid Clear Acne Defense Face Lotion
rated 4 of 5
jellybabe23 12/5/2012 11:13:00 AM

I started using products with SA in it just recently for my cystic acne had staring forming again. After browsing across the skincare isle, I decided on this product. Haven't heard much, but I decided to give it a shot. After the first night of using this, my pimples decreased significantly. The smell is wonderful, very fresh. The consistency is gel-like, but the formula doesn't dry very quickly. I use a q-tip to spot treat my acne, and if there are large clusters of acne, then I smooth it on. It's a very tiny bottle, which is disappointing because it is about $7-10 depending on where you purchase the product. But, it works great! I will try out another treatment so that my skin doesn't get used to this spot treatment.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Million Lashes Diamond
rated 3 of 5
jellybabe23 11/17/2012 7:10:00 PM

I got suckered into buying this product because I've heard so many good reviews on the regular Voluminous Million Lases mascara. This is the special edition anniversary version, which has sparkles or diamonds, or what have you in the product. Now, the concept is similar to Covergirl's eyebrights mascara, which I haven't tried, but this mascaa has a ton of glitter/shimmer particles in it. It has come to the point that when my lashes are dry, it feels rough to the touch, which I am not a fan of. The glitter/shimmer is very noticeable, which is a plus. Sometimes, though, my lashes look more silver than they do black, which is not a good every day look for me. Overall, it wasn't my favorite mascara nor was it terrible. It didn't flake or smudge throughout the day which is a plus. The wand is fantastic--it distributed product nicely, with minimal clumping. But I was hoping for soft, full and separated lashes. Edit: I've added a picture, so you can definitely see the sparkles :)

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
rated 4 of 5
jellybabe23 11/17/2012 7:02:00 PM

I know this palette has many reviews, so I'll just add my two cents as well. :) I've had this palette for over 17 months, and I can honestly say that the quality, variety of shades, and mix of finishes, are quite exquisite. For everyday look(s), I'll do one of two looks: 1.)Virgin on inner corners, Naked all over lid, smog on bottom half of lid near lash line, Sin on inner third, and Darkhorse on outer third. 2.)Virgin, naked, sin on same areas as 1., exchange toasted for smog, and hustle for darkhorse. The shadows are very buttery feeling and blendable. I love the two matte shades, Naked and Buck(which I use for my brows) Naked is also a good contouring shade for my nose area, and Half-baked is a beautiful gold shade that is perfect for brightening up the eyes. Side-car is too glittery for me, it literally is a glitter bomb, which is great for a party look, but not for everyday, in my opinion. I wish Creep was a matte black instead of a glittery black and that Gunmetal would not have chunky silver glitters in it. Besides the chunky glitter, the mix of shades is wonderful. I've put off buying other palettes because frankly, this palette will last me quite a while, which is great on my budget. Highly recommended!

Lipstick -New York Color - Ultra Moist Lipwear - Violet Shine
rated 4 of 5
jellybabe23 11/14/2012 7:14:00 PM

I bought this product after trying two other lipsticks from N.Y.C. that I actually really enjoyed. Violet Shine has some shimmer in it, but not the overly silvery type of shimmer in most inexpensive lipsticks; it actually provides a nice sheen to the lips which I enjoy. The pigmentation is not that great, but for everyday, I prefer that instead. It is a shear lipstick that provides some moisturization, but I do find myself reapplying frequently. My lips do, however, dry, once the formula itself has dried up, so it doesn't provide long lasting moisture as do other lipsticks. The smell is your typical inexpensive "plastic-smelling" (if that makes sense) scent which doesn't bother me. Overall, for $.99, the color is great, violet-pink with a bit of a sheen, and it brightens up my NC40-42 skin up nicely.

Hair Styling Tools -Remington - Wet 2 Straight
rated 4 of 5
jellybabe23 11/8/2012 5:24:00 AM

I don't agree with the latest review who called this tool "the instrument of doom" or something like that. I actually really like this straightener because of its functionality. For one, yes it does straighten wet hair, and I always use a heat protectant, so I'm always covered (no pun intended). The settings are usually set for different TYPES of hair. The doom reviewer does not realize that fine hair doesn't require the hottest setting on a straightener, nor does course hair straighten when used on a low setting. I have fine-medium hair, so I always have my setting in between. The numbers range from 0-30. So from 0-10 is for Dry hair, 11-20 is for Towel-dried slightly Damp hair, and 21-30 is for "Just got out of the shower" Wet hair. If I fall under any of those categories, I always choose the midpoint, meaning when I have dry hair, I go for no.5, damp hair, I go for no. 15, it's as simple as that. Keep in mind, I have the larger straightener, so it's not meant to curl hair whatsoever. It usually takes me 8-10 minutes to straighten and I'm out the door! I took off one lippie because sometimes my hair snags on the metal-aluminum (or whatever its made of) plates.

Lip Treatments -Nivea - A Kiss of Moisture
rated 5 of 5
jellybabe23 11/5/2012 12:48:00 AM

I own almost all the Nivea "kiss of whatever" lipbalms and love almost all of them. The Kiss of Moisture in the dark blue tube is by far my favorite out of the bunch because it it intensely moisturizing. I love reapplying it because it feel like rubbing a stick of butter on your lips. That came off as gross, I know, but if you really want a true "lip butter" for your lips, I strongly suggest everyone to purchase this one in particular at least once in their life. Come on people! Butter for your lips! haha :)

Conditioner -Suave - Naturals Refreshing Waterfall Mist
rated 4 of 5
jellybabe23 10/29/2012 4:53:00 AM

This is probably one of the best drugstore conditioners I have ever come across. It smells great, its cheap, and most of all, it makes my hair feel super soft and silky, even while i am rinsing it. The formula is very runny, hence my rating of 4 stars, but the bottle is about $1 depending on where you purchase it. It smells divine, like i would imagine a waterfall mist to smell like in its purest state. It's better than my Pantene, Dove, Garnier Fructis conditioners because it never dried my hair out. Unfortunately, since I have long hair, I used one bottle in 2 weeks. I suggest everyone try this conditioner out. For $1, it's delightful!

Polishes -Maybelline - Paint the Town
rated 4 of 5
jellybabe23 10/22/2012 2:22:00 AM

This is a beautiful, deep wine colored polish that is opaque in 2 coats. The formula itself is not too thin nor too thick, but i must say, I had to work slowly to avoid the pigment from bleeding onto my cuticles and the sides of my nails. By itself, the finish is semi-shiny, but I always add a topcoat (and basecoat to avoid yellow-stained nails). The brush is a standard, thin brush which was very easy to work with. Keep in mind, this is not fast-drying, because I accidentally touched by hair and streaked one of my nails. I am not sure of the staying power because my topcoat is topnotch( no pun intended :)), but I am very happy with this polish for fall/winter. I have attached pictures for reference.

Polishes -L'Oreal - safari chic
rated 4 of 5
jellybabe23 10/11/2012 5:10:00 AM

This is a beauitful greyish army green color perfect for fall. In the bottle it looks as if there are shimmers, but applied it looks completely pastel. It is very chic, as it is named. And it applies well in 2 coats. The formula is a bit thick, so I have to work slowly to get even coats. Sometimes, if I do not lay it perfectly on top of the first coat, you can see where I've laid the second coat, hence the thick formula. It is semi-glossy; but i always put atopcoat anyway. Overall, perfect for fall and winter and appropriate for work IMO. I've attached pictures for reference. Edit: I forgot to mention, the color is a bit darker on the nails than it is in the bottle.
