I really enjoy using this product. It was such a difficult task to find the right foundation that could meet my needs. I needed a foundation that covered my acne and acne scars, it wouldn't cause me to break out, stayed on most of the day, create a matte look and prevent me from looking like an oily mess at the end of the day (or even in the middle of the day). This foundation met all those needs. The only issue I do have with it is the coloring. The very nice sales lady gave me Sesame, which is a close match, but my skin is super hard to find the right color. Speaking of the sales lady, she was very knowledgeable about all her own products, even other products I use and this website. I felt confident that she knew exactly what I needed. The downside of this is the price. With my budget, this is most definitely a splurge. Paying about $30 for foundation can put a strain on the wallet, but I bought it in mid January and I am still using the same tube. I figured it to be $10 a month and that's about the same amount I would spend a month on a covergirl product. Clearly I am trying to justify my purchase, but it doesn't matter, I love this stuff! To compare, I have used MAC Studiofix, Origins Reflection Perfection, Clinique Repairwear and Covergirl Aquasmooth. MAC changed its color throughout the day and caked, Origins was GREAT but got discontinued, Clinique made me break out like crazy and made me an oily mess and covergirl just makes me look like a ghost. Merle Norman is been the best!

Liquid -Clinique - Repairwear foundation [DISCONTINUED]

Recently finding out my favorite foundation from Origins was discontinued (Reflection perfecting in eggshell), I began my search for my new favorite. I stopped at the Clinique station and decided to give it a try. After a couple weeks, I have made the decision to return the bottle. To describe my skin type, I would say I have really oily skin, especially in my t-zone, I am prone to break out, and I have lots of acne scars and current acne that needs to be covered. My old foundation was able to cover everything and give me a matte look. and not make me look greasy by the end of the day. But with this foundation, I look like a grease slick within a couple of hours. The coverage looks great right when you put it one, but it starts to oxidize on my face and turns into an orangey color within hours. I am the lightest color they have (Alabaster 01) and its such a let down for it to become darker through out the day. It builds up and cakes on my face and it feels so heavy. Worst part is, when I try to cover my acne, it covers when you apply it, but not long after, my acne and redness is showing. I've made it a habit to not rub my face and its a bummer that it looks like I have smeared it. Also, I apply with my Origins foundation brush and it SO difficult to wash. My Alpha Hydrox face wash cleans everything, even all my eye makeup, but it could not wash my brush with this stuff. I resorted to using water and rubbing alcohol to clean my synthetic brush. I made the wrong choice buying this stuff, even though it does say on the packaging its for very dry skin, the lady reassured me it will be fine. She was wrong and now I have to return it.

Liquid -Origins - Reflection Perfection

I love this foundation! In the past I mainly used MAC Studio Fix and it doesn't come close to how well Reflection Perfection covers. I have really bad acne and scars and this really covers them up and makes them look like my skin tone and not red. In MAC I am a NC20 and I got Eggshell. It is a bit more orange that I like, but I use Rimmels Pressed Powder (translucent) and it look more natural. As for oil control, I really like it a lot. I recently went to six flags over texas (in the texas heat) and my makeup didn't melt off like others would have. My skin is very oily and tends to cake my makeup and I look really shiny. With this foundation I get a slight glow several hours into the day, but that doesn't bother me compared to what I use to look like before I used this stuff. To apply the foundation, I use the brush because I was told that using a sponge over again contains lots of bacteria, so I am trying whatever I can to help prevent my really bad breakouts. Plus, the brush really helps apply the makeup more evenly. It is a work in process to apply the makeup because it dries fairly quickly, but I have been getting better at the application process. Because it covers so well, it is a bit difficult to take off. I use Alpha Hydrox because it works like a dream. It takes ALL of my makeup off, and it is gentle enough to use on your eyes.
