Skincare - Body -Bath and Body Works - Body Lotion in Juniper Breeze

I get compliments every time I wear this scent. Aside from the moisturizing benefits, the main thing that sells this product is that it smells just AMAZING and everyone will be asking you what it is. They have discontinued this product, but it seems to pop up every time there is a "semi-annual sale" or some other reason to feature "good-byes" If you get a chance to get this scent, go for it!

Treatments (Eye) -Clinique - All About Eyes
rated 5 of 5

I really like this eye cream for one simple reason: When I use it, I see a difference. The skin under my eyes, which has some sun damage, looks softer and smoother and the lines are less obvious. It also has a lovely texture and actually feels good going on the eyes. I have sensitive eyes and it doesn't bother them. This is just a good, effective eye cream, and even if it's a tad pricey, you only need to use a very little bit so a jar will go a long way.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Rose Pro Pigment Powder
rated 5 of 5
jayescott 4/25/2012 3:13:00 AM

This is one of my favorite pigment colors. I have used it as an eyeshadow, a blush, and I have mixed it with clear lip gloss. It has a nice rosy glow but it isn't overly bright. I am on my second jar of this color (my first was a mini). All of the MAC pigments are amazing, but this one is a classic!

Liquid -MAC - Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation
rated 3 of 5
jayescott 4/25/2012 3:07:00 AM

I usually love all things MAC, but this foundation just didn't work for me. First of all, the MAC artist couldn't match my skin and wound up selling me one that was too light, but that's not the product's fault. The main problem I had with this foundation is that it made my skin break out really bad, and my skin doesn't usually break out since it tends to be more dry than oily. I also noticed that it looked a bit chalky on my face - you could see that I had makeup on. When I use my normal foundation (Dior Eclat Satin) you can't tell. The product seemed to last well, but what good is that if it doesn't look good? This product might work for someone else but it wasn't the right fit for me.

Scrubs -Burt's Bees - Peach and Willowbark Deep Pore Scrub
rated 4 of 5
jayescott 4/25/2012 2:59:00 AM

I like this scrub a lot. I have skin that is sort of dry, especially at certain times of the year. I have to be careful what products I use so it doesn't get more dry, and I have had some problems with other scrubs in that respect. This scrub actually leaves my skin feeling more moist after I use it. I agree with some of the other reviews that it is a bit more abrasive than some of the other scrubs out there, but I don't exfoliate every day, so it works out fine for me. I love the scent! I think that this is a really good scrub for anyone with dry skin, and the low price makes it even more attractive.

Treatments -Aveda - Brilliant Damage Control Spray
rated 4 of 5
jayescott 4/25/2012 2:54:00 AM

This product works pretty well. I have been using it for over a year, and I have noticed that my hair isn't getting as damaged from using the blow dryer and the flat iron. The trick is to use it sparingly, otherwise it can weight down the hair. Just a light spritz is all that's needed. I have also noticed that my hair seems a bit shinier when I use it. I have been disappointed in some other Aveda products in the past, but I do like this one.

Lipstick -Clinique - Different Lipstick - Raspberry Glace
rated 5 of 5
jayescott 4/25/2012 2:33:00 AM

This is one of my favorite lipstick colors. It is a deep but sheer pink, and it makes my lips a nice rosy pink that is definitely there, but doesn't overpower my face. This is a good color to wear for work, or for casual occasions where I don't want to look overly "made up" but I want some nice color on my lips. I think that this color would look good on just about anyone. I originally got this as a gift-with-purchase, and I have continued to use it.

Hair Color -Unlisted Brand - Naturtint Permanent Hair Colorant
rated 5 of 5
jayescott 4/25/2012 2:28:00 AM

I switched to Naturtint because I started getting burning and itching from using regular hair color, even the ones they use at my hair salon. I have been buying this and my hairdresser puts it on for me. He is actually amazed at how good the color is and the great condition my hair is in after he uses it on me. My color is a very rich dark brown - I use the Natural Chestnut - and it lasts through a lot of shampooing. I'm not crazy about the shampoo they include with it, but that's not a big deal...just use it with any sulfate-free shampoo (my hairdresser uses Rusk) and it works great. I highly recommend this hair color!

Conditioner -Schwarzkopf - Bonacure Color Save Conditioner
rated 4 of 5
jayescott 4/25/2012 2:11:00 AM

I use this conditioner with the Color Save shampoo, and it works pretty well. My hair comes out untangled, soft, and not weighed down. This is a good everyday conditioner, but I find that I need to use a deeper conditioner occasionally because my hair has been a bit damaged from doing relaxers. For someone without any issues like that, this conditioner should be all they need.

Shampoo -Schwarzkopf - Bonacure Color Save Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
jayescott 4/25/2012 2:06:00 AM

My hairdresser recommended this shampoo to me because I color my hair, and also because it's a gentle shampoo and my hair is a bit damaged from having gotten relaxers done for many years. I have had a very good experience with it. My hair feels soft and clean when I use this shampoo, and it doesn't feel dry. I like the scent - although it doesn't stay - and while sulfate-free shampoos don't lather as much, this one has enough lather to make me feel like I'm really washing my hair! My color is definitely not fading as quickly as it was when I was using Aveda Color Care (which I found fairly worthless). I would recommend this product not only to people who color their hair, but to anyone who wants a really gentle but effective shampoo.

Moisturizers -MAC - Strobe Cream
rated 5 of 5
jayescott 4/25/2012 1:48:00 AM

I love Strobe cream. I use it before putting my makeup on, and it moisturizes without creating a greasy base for my foundation like some other creams I have used. It puts a subtle glow on my skin without being glittery, almost like crushed pearls. The only thing that could make it better is if it had a sunscreen in it, but since my foundation has one that doesn't really bother me. I would recommend this product to anyone with any skin type as a light moisturizer that is perfect for daytime and does a nice job of highlighting the skin.

Mascara -Lancome - Hypnose Drama
rated 4 of 5
jayescott 4/25/2012 1:42:00 AM

I get tons of compliments on my lashes when I wear this mascara, my manicurist asked me if I had gotten eyelash extensions! I got it in a gift-with-purchase initially and have continued to use it, although it has one major flaw. The brush is a very odd shape (what were they thinking?) and this makes it difficult to apply, and sometimes it causes the mascara to clump. The reward of the gorgeous lashes you get is worth it in the end, but this would be a perfect product if it had a better brush.

Eyeliner -Smashbox - Cream Eye Liner - Midnight Brown
rated 4 of 5
jayescott 4/25/2012 1:27:00 AM

I love Smashbox Cream Liners. They go on easily and don't tug on my sensitive eyelid skin. This is a great color, I have it in a set where it's paired with black, and they are my go-to eyeliners. I'm not sure why all of these people are saying it doesn't last all day - I have worn it all day and then left it on at the gym and even after sweating it's still there. I hardly ever use my pencil or liquid eyeliners any more!

Cleansers -Lancome - Galatee Confort
rated 5 of 5
jayescott 4/25/2012 1:20:00 AM

This is my favorite cleanser, and I've been using it on and off for many years. I say "on and off" because I have tried many other cleansers, but I always come back to this one. It takes off my makeup and cleans my face without leaving me feeling dry and it has never irritated my skin. This is a good cleanser for all skin types, but I think it is especially good for dry skin.

Liquid -Christian Dior - Teint Dior Eclat Satin Foundation
rated 5 of 5
jayescott 4/25/2012 1:15:00 AM

Best foundation I've ever used. I keep coming back to it because it has good coverage - medium, but you can make it more like full coverage by layering it - and because it doesn't feel heavy on my skin. It has a very dewy finish, and my somewhat dry skin looks moist after I use it. I usually prefer unscented products, and I have noticed that it is strongly (although IMHO not unpleasantly) scented, but after it is on my skin for a short time the scent goes away, so I'm not sure why it bothers people so much...maybe I'm just not as sensitive to it. It works really well with my moisturizer. I've tried other foundations, but I don't know why I bothered because this one just works!
