Lips -Bobbi Brown - Tinted Lip Balm in Rose Petal
jasanna143 8/19/2007 11:38:00 AM
Tried this tinted lip balm for the first time last week and finally getting time to write a review. Packaging is sturdy and love the metal case. Feels like it snaps securely. Coverage/texture is divine! Doesn't dry out my lips but rather makes me look pouty. Excellent payoff!!! Pinky red and looks fabulous with my skintone - nc20 bro/bro. The price is a little on the high side but I'm used to buying high end products so it's nothing but a thing to me now..lol! I would definitely rec this product again to anyone looking for something easy to apply without the use of a mirror but someone who wants some pop of color on their lips. Thought it would be more sheer and surprisingly it wasn't but that's a definite good thing. Lasts a long time too. Went to gym with this on right after work and it last throughout my sweaty 2 hours at the gym. Now that's impressive. I don't care if it doesn't have SPF in it. I use other stuff for that anyway. Overall, don't know why I didn't buy this sooner. It's all I ever wear now.

Lipstick -Christian Dior - Dior Addict Ultra-Shine Sheer Lipcolor in 650- Shiniest Red
jasanna143 6/16/2007 10:48:00 PM
Love the color although as many others have stated, not a true red as one might expect from the name, "Shiniest Red." Nonetheless, still a great color for me, nc20 bro/bro. I'm wearing it right now which reminded me that I needed to write a review! Only l/s in the Shiniest line I'm a fan of due to no sparkle or micro-glitter. I believe it has some shimmer to it but definitely not that gritty feeling. Hate that w/ a passion! Brightens my face up and gives me juicy lips without having to use gloss. I've had mine for quite some time - don't know why I forgot about it until now. Don't mind the scent/taste. I got used to it awhile ago since the texture is too divine to pass up. I guess I'm in the minority here - I adore the packaging...very clever, sleek and elegant. Yes, a bit clunky but nothing I can't deal with!! I def recommend.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Allure - Emotion
jasanna143 4/15/2007 2:28:00 PM
Love this shade of l/s!!! I don't know why I passed by it for so long without picking it up. I have every other shade in the RA line that you can think of and I never thought I would miss out on such a pretty shade. For reference, I'm nc20 bro/bro, I'm pretty fair but not pale pale. I was looking for a shade that would brighten my complexion without looking too frosty or too barbie doll pink. I especially wanted a nice pop of color for this summer. Well I certainly found it in this shade. I love how the shimmer (no sparkles and not gritty) gives my mouth dimension and doesn't wash me out. This color may seen bright to some but I like red l/s anyway so this is a more subdued option for me. The only way I can describe it is a pinky rose that seems to be both warm and cool on me. Maybe I'm not explaining it to well but I can see that this shade would work for many skintones. I wore it yesterday and no matter what kind of light I was in, it always looked good. My friend even commented on it and she never does! That's my seal of approval!

Lipstick -Christian Dior - Addict Lipstick- Rose Mirage
jasanna143 3/29/2007 12:08:00 AM
Great lippe with amazing texture and lasting power. It's very moisturizing. I never thought I could pull this color off until I just changed a few other of my m/u colors and voila - new face! I'm nc20, bro/bro and this shade on me appears as a rose pink with a hint of lavender and cool shimmer. It's defnitely not sparkly, just shimmery that adds dimension to my lips. Makes my lips appear fuller and my teeth whiter. Great s/s color that doesn't wash me out. If I'm looking for a natural look, I'm sticking with this or whenever I do a smokey eye. I'm usually a red l/s kind of gal but I'll still reach for this.

Lipstick -New York Color - 309B Sheer Red
jasanna143 12/28/2006 11:42:00 AM
GREAT color for my nc20 bro/bro features/complexion! At first I was a bit hesitant to buy an inexpensive lippie. I am a self-admitted l/s snob and only buy h/e products thinking they're better than d/s brands. I couldn't be more wrong. I was searching and searching for a great red lippie that wouldn't make me look like Bozo the Clown. I searched high and low at NM, Nords, Saks, etc and only seemed to find one at the Cle de Peau counter but still wanted something a little different. I kept hearing all the raves about Sheer Red so decided to splurge a whole dollar and get this. At Ulta, they had a buy one get one free deal anyway so I figured what the heck. I loooove the color on my lips and it compliments my skintone. It's very creamy and moisturizing and hasn't bled on me thus far. I loathe the packaging and wish they would change it. The l/s bullet doesn't twist down so you might scrape it against the cap. Can't stand clear caps too!! Ugh! I hope they'll change but hey, it's .99 cents so I guess I can't complain that much. Could possibly be my HG red along w/ my CdP l/s in #17. I definitely recommend.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Allure 10 - Attitude
jasanna143 11/20/2006 4:35:00 PM
Would definitely buy this color again! Gorg browned berry red that's not too dark and not too bright on my nc20 skin, bro/bro. I like the lasting power and how it doesn't dry out my lips. I love pairing it with Spark Glossimer for a great sexy lip. I do neutral eyes and rosy cheeks and it really brightens my complexion and also makes my teeth look whiter for some reason. I didn't expect that since it's more warm. Love the packaging, the consistency, and scent. The best of the best. I hope Chanel continues to make more shades of this wonderful formula. As long as they keep makin', I'll keep buyin'!

Lipstick -Laura Mercier - StickGloss in Baked Earth
jasanna143 10/24/2006 12:49:00 PM
Baked Earth stick gloss is a great product that I have a feeling I'll be using a lot this season and many seasons to come. I would describe this color as a warm brown/red/clay/rust color if that makes any sense. I love pairing it with Crushed Hazelnut and Blushing Apple blush...gives the perfect complimenting color palette to the face. I am nc25, bro/bro and feel this color really enhances my skin tone. The MA really liked this color better than the rest and I must admit, it's one of the best formulas out there. There is no waxy scent that the regular LM l/s's have and this scent is rather pleasant. Lasting power is decent but I don't mind reapplying after eating or talking a lot. It never balls up on my lips and no matter how much I apply, it never cakes....I hope they continue making different shades b/c I will be a loyal follower!

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam VI
jasanna143 9/28/2006 7:05:00 PM

Ok, my turn to review VGVI: HG HG HG HG HG! I need to bump its rating up here!! Yes, it's YMMV, yes it's suitable for more skin tones, yes, it can be a litttttle drying but l/s's are moisturizing allllllll day?! Appreciate the color for what it's worth: a great staple that everyone should have! It can get a lot of mileage w/ different looks depending on what m/u you use. On me, nc25, it's a rosy/rasberry/red/plum color that gives my lips some oomph. Pair it w/ Soar l/l and VGVI l/g and I'm ready for whatever, day or night. I get compliments on it all the time, even from SA's at different counters. That's saying a lot! VG l/s's are meant to be universally flattering, they need to sell it to a wide consumer group! They can't make an outrageous color and expect everyone to buy it - no good marketing for such a good cause. I totally agree with making universally flattering shades and that's exactly what VGVI is! Try it on, it might be your HG too!

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Allure - Voluptuous
jasanna143 9/26/2006 1:08:00 AM
Yes yes, the price could be overwhelming for some but it's Chanel, you get what you pay for IMHO. Anyway, the color is fab - a beautiful berry red that isn't too OTT and could easily be worn during the day. I'm nc25 bro/bro and find it very hard to find shades that don't wash me out or look garish. I have very pigmented lips so it's very hard to find a true color I had in mind. When I went to my Chanel counter, I was going to buy Emotion only to find out it turned extremely pink on my lips - not what I wanted. So I said to heck w/ it and started playing around. I came across this and decided to try it. The MA must have read my mind because she immediately said this shade brightened up my complexion when I was asking myself the same question! Any shade that can do that is a keeper in my book. I can see myself wearing this w/ NARS Outlaw for a berry'ish "just got in from the cold" look. A perfect staple for those who are wanting to try reds. It has a great gold shimmer to it and seems to be a complex shade to describe. Def try it on...I never would have if I wasn't curious!

Lipstick -Bobbi Brown - Lip Sheer -- Rosy
jasanna143 9/2/2006 12:06:00 AM
Great MLBB lipstick that actually accentuates and gives my highly pigmented lips color! This is the color I wish my lips were but oh well. At least there's a lipstick that does it for me! I'm NC25, bro/bro and this l/s on me is a rosy shade to put it bluntly. It doesn't overpower my face or m/u, just accentuates and brightens my complexion. I love that it's a lip sheer so it's not drying like her reg l/s's tend to be on me. I find the lip sheers are very moist and last a decent amount of time. Since I'm pretty fair (I don't deliberately tan my face), this color really shows up on me but not in a garish way. I highly recommend this color for its shade, quality, and texture. No annoying l/s smell either on the lip sheers, thank goodness!

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Allure -Silhouette
jasanna143 8/27/2006 4:56:00 PM
How much can I say I love this color?! I think it's such a great addition to the new Rouge Allure collection. Silhouette is a nice plummy/pinky/neutral color on my lips that just brightens my complexion and makes it seem more pepped up and alive. An Origins MA asked me what was on my lips b/c it was such a beautiful color. She thought it was my own lip pigment so I knew it looked natural but yet it still stood out if that makes any sense. I love the color payoff and the lasting power. I just need to touch up w/ some l/g and I'm good for awhile. FYI, I'm NC25 and this is a great color for me. I'm warm toned but I think just about anyone can pull this off. It looks boring in the tube but I think depending what you wear w/ it, it could be appropriate for office or evening. I love the classy packaging and it's sexy name too! Huge raves for me. I hope they don't discontinue this color!!!!!!

Concealers -Make Up For Ever - Extreme Camouflage Cream
jasanna143 8/23/2006 12:58:00 AM
What can I say that hasn't already been said? This is absolutely HG material for me. I thought I would never find another concealer that truly worked other than my CD Hydrating Concealer. Boy was I wrong! I'm NC25-30 and got #6 and it's a perfect match. It's not cakey and covers up my blemishes and hyperpigmentation very well and it lasts throughout the day. I could go on and on but I won't. Try it for yourself!

Lipstick -LORAC - Sheer Lipstick in Just Kissed
jasanna143 8/23/2006 12:56:00 AM
I def recommend this color to anyone looking for a just bitten look. I think this new name describes this shade perfectly. It looks like you've been making out for hours and gives your lips that "just kissed" look! It's a nice sheer berry-red that's not so OTT. It's smooth and creamy and has a faint vanilla scent that I just adore. I would venture to say that this will give your face color and some pop when you don't feel like wearing a bright red. I can see folks trying this shade if they want to try red for the first time as well. Overall, a lovely shade that last a decent amount of time for being a sheer l/s. I just wish LORAC changed all their packaging to the Lotsa Lip metal packaging...it's just sturdier.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Face & Body Foundation
jasanna143 8/15/2006 6:40:00 PM
Sorry to be the outcast here but I was absolutely disappointed with this foundation. After reading all the rave reviews about this item, I thought I found my "miracle" foundation - one from which I thought I would never stray. Well I was sadly mistaken. The consistency is gel-like yet runny and watery and the lack of pump makes it highly unsanitary and messy. I applied w/ a sponge and it seemed to accentuate every dry flake even after I moisturized. I am NC25-30 and got #20 which was a good match. I just wish it covered better. I read a lot of people say their pores were minimized as mine were as well but as far as covering blemishes, no way!!! I applied my Maybelline Pure m/u on top and voila..all better..What a shame that a d/s foundation KO'd the higher priced one! I'm back to the Maybelline but won't give up my search!

Blush -Chanel - Joues Contraste in Rose Petale 99
jasanna143 8/14/2006 4:30:00 PM
Beautiful neutral rosey pink color that makes me look flushed and pretty! The shimmer doesn't overpower the color and doesn't stick to my face like I'm a disco ball. The rose scent is noticable but the color is enough to make me wear it and get past the smell. The price $39.50 is shall we say, just Chanel so I wasn't expecting to pay $15. All in all, a great blush and I can see this will be a staple for many years to come...thank goodness it's permanent!
