Polishes -New York Color - Grand Central Station clear nail polish
rated 1 of 5
jaqi16 11/18/2011 2:30:00 AM

Sorry to bring the ratings down, but I don't understand all the hype. In my opinion this is very overrated: Pros: Dries faster then other drugstore polish (not as fast as Seche Vite or Poshe) Nice Brush (like OPI's) Cheap, under $2 Cons: Nails are not nearly as shiny as with other topcoats (Seche Vite, Poshe, OPI, Barelle) Leaves nails feeling waxy/sticky, not smooth and glossy like other top coats Nails are not well protected (this top coat is easily scratched even after dried/prone to chipping) Sometimes I get tiny bubbles when I use this (even if used as a refresher) Bottom Line: If you just want your polish to dry fast, and are looking for something cheap then this is for you. But, don't expect your polish to look as glossy or last as long as if you had used some of the other popular top coats. I would not repurchase this. Although it might be good for someone who hasn't used any other quick dry top coats or just getting into nail polish.

Lotions/ Creams -Aveeno - Positively Nourishing 24-hour Ultra-Hydrating Whipped Souffle Body Cream
rated 5 of 5
jaqi16 11/16/2011 1:47:00 AM

Aveeno's whipped souffle comes in a jar and reminds me of a lightweight body butter. This lotion/souffle is nice and creamy. It absorbs right into the skin, leaving my skin soft and smooth, not greasy or waxy. I like to use this on my hands and feet, it can be used all over the body also! A little goes a long way. It smells really good, a nice clean, non-florally scent, kind of like the daily moisturizing body wash (which I also love). You can find this at a lot of different stores (Walgreens, Target, Ulta, etc.). It runs $6.50-$8.50 depending on where you shop, this is for 6 oz. For the quality of the product this is more than reasonable, (and I would continue to buy this even if it cost more). This cream feels so luxurious it has shea and cocoa butter in it, it also has oatmeal, all of which are good for the skin. I really like this cream, and I would/will repurchase. It would also make a nice gift for someone in my opinion, and I have recommended this to others. From Aveeno's Website: Ultra-Hydrating Whipped Souffle provides a surge of luxurious moisture, instantly hydrating dry skin so that it feels velvety soft and smooth. This breakthrough moisturizer goes beyond pampering your skin. Formulated with nourishing ACTIVE NATURALS® Oatmeal combined with natural shea and cocoa butters, it provides the essential moisture you need for healthier-looking skin today. And, this formula with antioxidants nourishes your skin to keep it healthier-looking tomorrow.

Skincare - Body -Neutrogena - Norwegian Formula Hand Cream Unscented
rated 4 of 5

This cream is pretty interesting. First off, it is clear, and more jelly-like I would say then cream in consistency, and you only need a small dab (according to the packaging this 2oz tube will last 200 applications) but it is as strong (in moisturizing properties) as a cream. If I only use a small dab it doesn't seem like it's enough to spread all over, if I use more it seems to coat my hands and they feel kind of sweaty which I don't like. What I do really like about this product is that it continues to keep my skin moisturized after washing, and I love that it is completely fragrance free. By itself I would give this product 3.5 to 4 stars, however I find if I apply a tiny dab to palm, apply my regular moisturizer and rub them in, this helps my regular lotions last all day! For this use I would give it 5 stars and since it doesn't have any fragrance in it I can combine it with whichever moisturizer I feel like, scented or unscented.

Conditioner -Joico - Daily Care Leave-In Conditioner
rated 1 of 5
jaqi16 10/28/2011 2:25:00 AM

I was looking for a good leave in for my dry, frizzy hair. I recently got it cut, and the hairdresser mentioned how dry the ends were. Obviously whatever I was using before (Herbal Essence Long term relationship & Pantene detangler) wasn't working. I bought this product to help maintain my new cut. This made the ends of my hair feel really nice, just as if I walked out of the salon. BUT after using this for a few days, and just using it on the ends (not the scalp), I developed what I thought was dander on my scalp. After using a clarifying shampoo the dander and itchiness was gone! This was the only new product in my hair care routine. I will not repurchase.

Treatments -Dove - Nutritive Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Leave-in Smoothing Cream
rated 5 of 5
jaqi16 10/28/2011 2:23:00 AM

My hair is dry, frizzy and my scalp will tend to get oily. I bought this because I was looking for a new leave-in cream and the shampoo and conditioner from this line is also amazing. I really like this. It smells so nice. I can use it on either wet or dry hair and it works really well. It doesn't leave my hair oily at all, takes out a lot of static, and any remaining frizz (the shampoo and conditioner from this line get almost all of the frizz though). It leaves my hair really soft. I find it works slightly better on towel dried hair. I will definitely repurchase.

Conditioner -Dove - Nourishing Oil Care Conditioner
rated 5 of 5

Normally I wouldn't purchase a shampoo or conditioner that said it has oil in it. The reason I decided to try this was because of how well Dove's Cream Oil Body Lotion agreed with my skin, but hated the fragrance. I had also tried the generic GVP Conditioning Balm, which didn't do anything for my dry hair. The shampoo and conditioner smell great, so much better than the lotion, and they are not overpowering. I have fine, dry hair, with oily roots. I took a chance with this conditioner am sooo glad I did. I've only used this with the matching shampoo and after a cleansing shampoo, and both times the combination was perfect. You don't really need a lot. My hair seems to just soak it up in the shower. It doesn't weigh my hair down. My dry hair feels so soft, it has tons of volume and it's not all frizzy. I love this whole line, shampoo, conditioner and smoothing cream. Dove got this one right. BEST USE: Everyday for tons of volume, moisture (no frizz) and shine.

Shampoo -Redken - Hair Cleansing Cream
rated 5 of 5
jaqi16 10/28/2011 2:02:00 AM

First off, I've used a couple Redken products before, and was not impressed. They didn't seem to do much for my hair. So I was a little hesitant to try this, but I am so glad I did. I really like this shampoo. I used it to clean my hair of buildup from another product. And it worked wonderfully, it got rid of the buildup and dander caused by the other product. My hair tends to be dry and frizzy, with an oily scalp. This left my hair really clean, but not dried out. It left my hair full of volume. Although I'm not using the product that was causing the dander, this worked so well I will definitely repurchase. I think I am going to try to use this once a week or every other week. I am going to get the liter size next time.

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Eucerin PLUS Intensive Repair Hand Creme
rated 3 of 5
jaqi16 10/27/2011 6:54:00 PM

This lotion has a nice constancy, it doesn't leave hands greasy and seems to deeply moisturize. I didn't notice any scent in the fragrance-free version. I can see how so many people would love this lotion. There was unfortunately one thing I couldn't get past... it has AHAs in it. Therefore, this is going to make your skin more sensitive to sunlight (there is actually a warning on the back of the tube also). I'm not very good about putting sunscreen on my hands daily, like I try to do with my face. Otherwise the AHAs probably wouldn't bother me. The last thing I want on my hands are age spots/wrinkles. So while this does work well, I think I will stick to other lotions that also work well that do not contain AHAs. Sorry not a repurchase for me.

Lotions/ Creams -Dove - Cream Oil Shea Butter Body Lotion
rated 3 of 5
jaqi16 10/27/2011 6:37:00 PM

I loved the constancy of this product. It is a thick creamy lotion that glides right on your skin do to the added oil. It didn't leave me greasy, sticky or waxy. It seemed to give my skin the moisture it was looking for. The texture and performance of this lotion is 5 stars, but the smell....very strong typical shea butter smell!!! I tend to be sensitive to fragrances in general, but I liked this lotion so I was hoping I could look past it. But I couldn't, I had to return this. If Dove made this in a fragrance-free version I would definitely purchase it. If you like the smell of Shea Butter, this is a really nice lotion.

It seemed to give my skin the moisture it was looking for. The texture and performance is 5 stars, but the smell....way too flowery!!! I tend to be sensitive to fragrances in general, but I liked this lotion so I was hoping I could look past it. The fragrance wouldn't fade. It reminded me of the little old ladys that overdo their perfume. I had to return this. If Dove made this in a fragrance-free version I would definitely purchase it.

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete All Day Moisturizer with sunscreen Sensitive Skin SPF15 (classic gentle formula)
rated 5 of 5
jaqi16 10/27/2011 12:36:00 AM

I really like this facial moisturizer. My skin is very sensitive, and if it isn't balanced then I tend to breakout. Sometimes I use a drop of jojoba oil under this for a little extra moisture when my skin is feeling extra dry, since this isn't super moisturizing. This product leaves my skin with a dewy finish. If I use too much though it does look oily, but still not as oily as the other moisturizers with SPF that I have tried (except the Eucerin Q10). The packaging is okay, but every once in a while the lotion will just continue to come out of the top of the bottle... not sure why it does this, since the bottle hasn't changed pressures (like you would expect in an airplane, etc). I use this as my everyday facial lotion, I really like it has some sun protection too (along with some vitamins). I buy the "classic" sensitive formula, and it doesn't burn or sting my face since it is very sensitive. I haven't broken out from this.I can find this at Target, Walmart, or Walgreens (oh and Costco usually has a 2 pack). BEST USE: Everyday moisturizer.

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Original Moisturizing Creme
rated 5 of 5
jaqi16 10/25/2011 9:05:00 PM

I've been trying a lot of lotions lately, since my skin has been dry and bothersome. I have dry, eczema prone, sensitive skin, and I live in the desert. I am sensitive to lotions with a lot of fragrance. This is a thick cream, it spreads best on moist/warm skin. This is way to thick as an all over body cream. I like to use this to spot treat dry patches (and occasionally on my hands and feet ). I find it doesn't sting or burn even dry or chapped skin. It sinks in (after a little bit, and before that it is greasy). I like this better than vaseline/Aquaphor for skincare. For my lips though the Aquaphor is a much better product. I've used this on dry patches on my face without any breakout problems. This will last me a long time since I only need so little at a time, but when I run out I will repurchase, since it seems to heal my skin overnight! This is my favorite product to spot treat any dry or eczema patches. I feel like this is a great healing cream. BEST USE: Spot treating dry/eczema patches. edit: and makes a wonderful cuticle cream (just need a very small amount!)
