Blush -Avon - True Color Blush in Rose Lustre
rated 5 of 5
jany177 4/16/2012 7:46:00 PM

Rose Lustre is a beautiful berry/rose pink shade -- reminds me of some of Clinique's blushes. Richly pigmented, VERY long lasting, and a gorgeous color. The only issue I have with this one (I've tried all of the True Color blushes) is that's is so pigmented it's easy to wind up with clown cheeks if I'm not careful. I have an NW20 complexion -- applied lightly, the color is simply beautiful -- a lovely, feminine pink.

Blush -Avon - True Color Powder Blush in Earthen Rose
rated 5 of 5
jany177 4/16/2012 7:37:00 PM

Love this blush -- it's a great neutral peach tone, a little more yellow than a pinky peach, definitely a true peach shade. This was the first color I bought in Avon's TC blush line, and I ended up eventually buying all the colors, because this one and every one I bought after it had THE BEST staying power -- it lasts an entire 8 hour work day. I use moisturizer, primer, foundation, and then the blush, and it lasts all day. Earthen Rose has no rose to it -- a great neutral nude/peach color.

Blush -Avon - True Color Blush Classic Aura
rated 5 of 5
jany177 4/16/2012 7:31:00 PM

This blush is a great shade of pink that may just be universally flattering. It's got a hint of peach to it -- not a baby pink or mauve/berry pink. I use this color when I want that natural/healthy flush. Many of the other colors in this line, while very pretty and long-lasting, all run toward the plum/mauve/dusty pink family. Classic Aura stands apart as a pretty, natural looking healthy peachy-pink. I really like it, and if I ever finish it (I own too many blushes to count) I would definitely repurchase.

Lipstick -Tarte - Lip Luster in Fever
rated 5 of 5
jany177 2/20/2012 11:37:00 AM

I bought Fever on a whim, looking for a new lip color and pleasantly surprised by how much I like this luster. I normally stay away from these because of the shimmer (prefer the glossy tints or the mattes). But this red is a perfect combination of subtle sparkle, rich pigmentation, and daytime sheer if applied more lightly. It's moisturizing and it lasts. All in all I love it and have worn it everyday since buying it. Gorgeous all-occasion red.

Blush -Avon - Smooth Minerals in Rose Radiance
rated 5 of 5
jany177 1/23/2012 4:59:00 PM

This lovely light pink blush is simply beautiful. I waited forever to order it because I doubted it contained enough pigmentation to serve as a good blush (I already had the Radiance concept by both Avon and Bare Minerals and wasn't impressed). Went ahead and ordered based on all the great reviews, and I have LOVED it. It is such a flattering shade of pink -- a light dusty pink that gives a gorgeous pale rose glow. A little goes a long way, too. Skin looks natural and beautiful with this particular blush. Love, love, love this blush. The Avon Smooth Minerals blushes have all been of great quality.

Blush -Avon - True Color Blush in Molto Mocha
rated 5 of 5
jany177 12/17/2011 10:08:00 PM

I really love this color. It's a neutral/tan color with great pigmentation, like all the other Avon True Color blushes. They are right up there with Clinique for pigmentation. This blush is not for super pale, cool skin, though, so anyone with cool undertones probably shouldn't bother as it might appear garish. I have fair olive skin and the fairness of my skin, combined with the rich pigmentation of the blush, means that I cannot apply a lot. I start with a light hand, and a light hand is all I need. I bought this because I was looking for a nice neutral shade that isn't pink, plum, or peach. It's very difficult to find a blush that isn't in the pink or bright peach family. Applied lightly, this is a gorgeous neutral shade, like a bronzer without the shimmer, and it gives skin a healthy color. I'm satisfied.

Mascara -Avon - SuperShock Waterproof
rated 5 of 5
jany177 5/19/2011 9:38:00 PM

This mascara by itself is great. I love the fat wand and the fact that the tube is easy to find in my bag. The mascara does not clump or ever give me spider lashes. What's made this already great mascara EVEN BETTER is that I recently got into the Clinique lash primer (I LOVE Clinique's High Impact mascara, but it's not waterproof!), and with the primer, this mascara creates breathtaking lashes. Seriously. And it has everything to do with this mascara, because I've used the primer with a Clinique mascara and a drugstore brand, and neither of them can touch the false eyelash volume I get with this SuperShock one. With this mascara my lashes are separated, thicker looking, and flawless. Combined with the Clinique primer, however, they seriously look like magazine ad eyelashes, and not in a fake or gaudy way. I have gotten a ton of compliments on the length and appearance of my lashes whenever I use this mascara combined with the Clinique primer. Try them! Even alone, this mascara looks fantastic because it provides a flawless application.

Polishes -L'Oreal - Pro Manicure - Mango-Get-Em 410
rated 4 of 5
jany177 5/15/2011 5:45:00 PM

LOVE the color. Like the other L'oreal pro manicure polishes I've tried, this one looks smashing when all is said and done. Like others mentioned, this polish did apply thick and uneven on the second coat, so I squeezed in three drops of Poshe polish reviver, rolled the bottle, and the remainder of the manicure went perfectly. Nails look gorgeous with this color, though in the end I probably won't repurchase. Though I love the color, I believe some of my OPI or Piggy Polishes are close enough that I won't really need another bottle. Plus, I'm glad I could use the polish reviver, but if I hadn't had it already, I would have been really angry at the application. You shouldn't need to revive new polish. But a gorgeous color, nonetheless. . .

Mascara -Clinique - Lash Building Primer
rated 5 of 5
jany177 4/23/2011 8:57:00 PM

I LOVE the way my mascara applies when I use this primer. My lashes are fuller, with LOTS more volume. I love that I can use it with any brand's mascara. I go between a Clinique high definition and an Avon Supershock mascara for the best volume I've ever seen. I will continue to buy this -- it's a staple for me now!

Lips -Tarte - Lipsurgence Natural Matte Lip Tint in Exposed
rated 5 of 5
jany177 4/21/2011 6:29:00 PM

Okay, so THIS is my HG nude. Thought I'd found it with another brand's lipstick, but this one tops them all. I am so happy to finally have Exposed; it'd been out of stock at Ulta, Sephora and Tarte for a little while. Having finally received it in the mail, I can say it's even more gorgeous on in full strength than the store's tester suggested. It's a gorgeous rosy, brownish/beige nude color that I imagine flatters every woman. The feel is wonderful, too. Not at all drying like the mattes from Tarte used to be. No clumping or caking, just a lovely natural, rich, MLBB shade. This looks and feels like the best money ever spent on a lip product. Exposed, Hope, and Envy are staples in my daily makeup tote. Get it!

Lipstick -Tarte - Natural Lip Stain with LipSurgence in Moody
rated 4 of 5
jany177 4/21/2011 6:13:00 PM

At first I wasn't crazy about the color. Looks a tad red on me, not a more versatile berry, which I was expecting I could wear more often. It is still a gorgeous look when layered up and sported as a bold glossy lip. Though I love the glossy feel and look of it, the slippery application bugs me sometimes -- lasting power is nil because it's a more juicy and soft formula than a clinging one. I wouldn't buy it again because overall I just don't use it as much as I do my other Tarte lip products, but if you regularly do a glossy, reddish berry color and you don't mind the price tag, go for it. I think it looks lovely with subdued eyes and slightly flushed cheeks.

Lipstick -Tarte - LipSurgence Natural Matte Lip Stain in Envy
rated 4 of 5
jany177 4/15/2011 8:26:00 PM

This is my fourth Tarte lip color, and it's a keeper. Somehow, though, it's a bit darker on me than when I tried my sister's on a year ago. Back then it came off as a dusty pigmented rose, and the one I just bought appears a deeper berry color. Not sure if my mind is playing tricks on me, or if some batches turn out a hair darker than others, the way some nail polishes do. Either way, it's still lovely. I will say that this one feels much more moisturizing than my sister's, which she bought a year ago. Maybe Tarte listened to the customer complaints about the drying effect. I have been wearing this for hours and have not felt any drying/clumping at all. Does not stay on for hours, but then I did notice that Tarte no longer calls this a stain. It's now listed as a tint. Much more accurate. Love the taste, the smell, the color, and the ease of application.

Lipstick -Avon - Beyond Color Uptown Pink
rated 5 of 5
jany177 4/14/2011 8:40:00 PM

I am so happy I finally took a chance on this lipstick -- held out forever because of all the negative reviews. I didn't find this lipstick to be bright or tacky at all. And I usually avoid pink Avon lipsticks because they really disappoint when they don't match the brochure. This lipstick, however, is a lovely medium pink color that IS vibrant, but not too bright. It's just a creamy, full-pigment rosey shade of pink that would look great any season. I love all of the Beyond Color lipsticks and bought two of this one while on special because these lipsticks are top quality. Creamy, silky, outstanding formula and rich colors. Love them all and happily recommend!

Lipstick -Clinique - Butter Shine Lipstick - Cranberry Cream
rated 5 of 5
jany177 4/13/2011 10:11:00 PM

This is my HG red lipstick. It's a creamy, rich cranberry red. I love the shine and the fact that, somehow, if applied in a single layer, it looks completely appropriate for daytime -- kind of glossy sheer, but with great color, if that possibly makes sense. Smashing when applied for night wear. I can't imagine who this color would NOT look good on. It's just truly gorgeous. Dreamy texture, rich color payoff, worth the price. It's the best red lipstick I have ever found. Not interested in another.

Lipstick -Clinique - Butter Shine in Pink Toffee
rated 5 of 5
jany177 4/13/2011 10:05:00 PM

This is a beautiful color, and I agree with the previous poster. Nice to know someone else feels so passionately about this underrated lipstick -- and the overrated Black Honey :-) I have had this color for years and I never fail to be wowed by its moisture and glossy appearance. It's such a perfect pink -- not bright, not dark, just rich, rose perfection. Love it. Love it. Love it. And love the Butter Shine line.
