Gels/Soaps -Burt's Bees - Radiance Exfoilating Body Wash
janetrachel75 6/3/2010 10:18:00 AM
Wow. Can't take the smell (intense and like perfume). I really didn't think this wash cleaned or exfoliated very well either. Definitely not for me.
I bought this product because it was on sale. I was hoping that it would live up to its name since it did contain salicylic acid and glycolic acid. My pores were not refined at all. No change in my skin's texture or oiliness at all. I did feel it was an ok cleanser. I did not experience the residue that other reviewers have experienced. But, overall it is nothing special and is loaded with other chemicals that I'd rather avoid. Will not repurchase.
Toners -Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - Acne Pore Minimizer w/Sepicontrol A5
janetrachel75 5/26/2010 10:49:00 AM
I really on the fence with this one. I got the sample size to try it out. It has a medicine-like smell that I don't really like, but it doesn't seem to last. I don't care for the packaging, because I waste product and I'm flying through my sample. As for effectiveness..... It seems to be helping reduce the blackheads and oiliness in the nose area, but I'm still undecided. I'll purchase another sample size and update later.
Scrubs -Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - Micro Polish Cream
janetrachel75 5/26/2010 10:41:00 AM
I really like this product overall. It does a great job of exfoliation. The granules are really fine and don't hurt my skin. My face feels super soft after using. I don't care for the smell, so I took off one lippie. It's kind-of sickly sweet, but it fades quickly. Ultimately, I really like the job it does, so I will repurchase for sure.
Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Dr. Scholl's Foot Pumice and Brush
janetrachel75 5/26/2010 10:29:00 AM
Not sure if mine is Dr. Scholl's because I threw away packaging. The tool looks like a small brush with a plastic handle with a pumice stone attached opposite of the brush side. This is an absolute must in my routine. I use it every time that I shower. The pumice does wonders for my feet and the brush is handy as well. I cannot live without a pumice stone. If you don't have one (I really don't think brand is that important), you have to give it a try. Love, love, love!
The main ingredient in this product is alcohol. Yes, this product may help dry out your blemish. But, it has a roll-on applicator. Very unhygienic. Also, the amount of product you get for the price is very small and it gets used up quickly. If you are blemish prone, stick to your regular toner ladies. It will be way more cost effective.
Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Dry Skin Therapy PLUS Intensive Repair Lotion
janetrachel75 5/26/2010 10:10:00 AM
My legs are dry and my feet are really really dry. So, I need an intense lotion for the feet. My doctor recommended that I try Eucerin. Mistake!!!! I hate this lotion. It is sticky and greasy and never seems to absorb. I tried using it several times and the product never grew on me. Yuck.
Deodorants -Dove - Invisible Solid Anti-Perspirant Deodorant in Fresh
janetrachel75 5/26/2010 10:02:00 AM
The scent is light and pleasant. It works to keep BO at bay. And, I haven't noticed any problems with my clothes being stained or any white flaking like some of the other reviewers. However, I still feel like there might be something better out there. So, I try other things, but I always seem to come back to this product.
I want to like Burt's Bees products. I really do. I have received a lot a sampler kits as gifts, and every time I am excited to try a more natural product. But, sadly, I am always disappointed. This scrub is terrible. Thick, difficult to spread. I felt like I was playing tug of war with my face trying to get it on. After rinsing, my face felt dirty and coated with a film. Really nasty stuff... I only tried it once and never again. Went in the garbage.
Styling Products -Frederic Fekkai - Glossing Cream with Olive Oil
janetrachel75 5/26/2010 9:32:00 AM
This is a review for the Brilliant Glossing Olive Oil Cream. I noticed that the ingredients on my tube are slightly modified from the list here. Anyway, this stuff did nothing for my hair good or bad. It did not add shine or reduce frizz. But, it didn't make it greasy either. Simply couldn't tell any product was there. I didn't care for the scent. Too much like perfume... But, the scent faded fast. So even if you bought it to make your hair smell nice, you would be disappointed. That is why I gave it 1 lippie only. I would not buy again.
Masks -Decleor - Radiance Revealing Peel-off Mask (Source D'eclat)
janetrachel75 5/25/2010 10:46:00 AM
I like occasionally using a peel-off mask, because it seems to help with flaky areas. This mask isn't worth the price. There are others out there that work just as well. It smells nice and tightens after 7-8 minutes. Then, you peel it off. It does leave a residue, so you have to rinse you face afterward. My skin does feel softer after using, but this can be achieved with less expensive products. Would not buy again...
I really hate this lip balm. It really stinks and tastes bad. But, it does work to smooth out my dry lips so I gave it 2 lippies. I would not buy again.
Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo 6 Piece Brush Set
janetrachel75 5/25/2010 10:16:00 AM
I think that these brushes are a great buy for the price. They are soft and so far I haven't seen any shedding. However, I do agree with another reviewer that the eye shadow brush does not take up shadow well and is difficult to use. I find it better for blending. Overall, it was a great economical purchase. I would buy again.
Lip Gloss -Sephora - Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss in Bronzed Beauty
janetrachel75 5/24/2010 10:40:00 AM
This lip gloss is just ok. I got it as part of the birthday gift samples last year. Pros: doesn't feel sticky, doesn't tingle, like the color (although it looks much darker in the tube), smells nice Cons: wears off easily, don't really like the taste (although I usually don't care for the taste of many lip products) Overall, I was glad I received it as a gift. Don't think I would buy it again.
This product is a glycerin based "soap-less" cleanser with green tea and shea butter. I received it with my glycolic acid peel set and was really surprised how much I liked it. The scent is light and refreshing. It lathers and cleans very well. My face feels super clean after using. The results feel similar to soap as it is drying, but I have oily/combo skin and it works well for me (better than any other true soap that I've tried). I just use a light moisturizer afterward. Definitely would buy again.
