I bought this brush set using a 60% off coupon. I can't ask for anything better!!! The brushes are good quality. The powder brush works well for mineral foundation. They are super soft when they need to be. I especially love the powder brush and the eyeshadow brush. It also comes with a case but I don't use it. Nonetheless, get 2 or 3 if you get a good coupon code for it.

Misc Beauty Tools -Anna Sui - Eyelash Curler
rated 5 of 5
janeeee999 2/21/2010 4:16:00 AM

I have tried many eyelash curlers and all before this one have failed me. They pinch my eyelid and don't keep the curl the lashes on my asian eyes. I've been using lash growth products so my lashes are no longer sparse and short but I think the lash curlers did not make those curlers for asians. I suppose they thought we didn't have enough lashes to curl anyways ;) This lash curler fits me perfectly. No pinching and my lashes curl beautifully. Attention all Asians, buy this curler! Its cute too.. black with purple silicone pad and lettering. I said I would buy another but I hope it doesn't break so I Have to buy another because that would suck.

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Stiletto Voluptuous
rated 1 of 5

Crap crap crap and I might add, it was rather expensive for crap at $10. I makes my lashes look thick and stumpy. I look better without mascara than wearing this mascara. Save your $$$.

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Stiletto

I bought this after I read a review of this mascara in a fashion mag. It was someone's HG mascara but definitely not mine. It did absolutely nothing for my lashes except for make each lash look thick and stumpy. It had no length, no volume nada. I don't like the brush because it takes out too much product which globs on to my lashes. Hate it!

Mascara -Maybelline - Pulse Perfection™ by Define-A-Lash® Vibrating Mascara ] ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
janeeee999 2/21/2010 3:17:00 AM

I bought this before I read the reviews...I must say that everyone is either hot or cold on this one and no one really in between. I bought the Lancome Oscillator with the vibrating wand (it came with GWP) and that was the only way I would have bought it because it was $40! It works great but it is $40 which is crazy expensive for a mascara no matter how great it worked. When I saw this Maybelline one with a pulse brush I thought I would try this one. London Drugs had a buy 2 get 1 free coupon for Maybelline so I thought this would be a good time to get one because I was not going to buy it at regular price. It's $16.99. This is crazy expensive for Maybelline! I am glad that I did though because it awesome. No clumping, good lengthening and good volume. It worked just as well as the Lancome. I'm so very happy and relieved because with the buy 2 get I free, I used it to get 3 of the same mascaras so I have 3 of them now! The button for the brush is at an awkward location and took getting used to but once your finger figures out where it is, it was not a problem. I think it helped get my lashes long and well fanned out without clumping. I would recommend this mascara if you can afford it or if you have a coupon or if it on sale or if you were previously using Lancome Oscillator (because its 1/2 the price).

Hair -Unlisted Brand - Unrefined Shea Butter
rated 5 of 5

With this product, I must join in and sing the praises of the choir. I love this product. Now that I have found it, I don't know how I had lived without it in the first place. I buy it online at Coastalscents.com. It's at a good price. It comes in plastic bag and a ziplock bag over the plastic baggy. I leave it in the bag until I need it. I rated the packaging a 2 but I don't think I've really paid for the paging at $8+ shipping for 1lb of shea butter. At the same site, there is a recipe on making whipped shea butter. I've made it 3x now. I first made some for Christmas as presents for my friends. I loved it and so did they. I have changed the recipe a bit to suit myself. I will definately by buying this again.... probably for as long as I live. I have never used this type of shea butter on my hair before. I do have a spray made of shea butter but it makes my hair feel crunchy for some reason. It is shiny but it feels dried out. I don't think I'm going to use this on my hair either but I have a good hair product so I don't care.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Jojoba Oil
rated 5 of 5
janeeee999 2/2/2010 2:19:00 AM

I buy this oil online so I have to watch when I am getting low. I LOVE this product. It works great as a makeup remover. I used to massage it on my face and wipe it off before I wash with my cleanser, now I just massage on my face, leave it on for a minute and then wash it off with my cleanser. It takes off all my makeup including waterproof mascara. I use it in the shower as a moisturizer for my body and put whatever is left on my hands on my face. I rinse my face off in the shower to get some oiliness off before I apply my makeup for the morning. I think since I have started using it, my face has improved in texture. I love the feel of my skin. It is definately worth a try if you are trying to simplify your skincare routine. I am trying to control the ingredients on what I put on my skin so I had been making my own or trying to find single ingredient products to use.

Cleansers -Shu Uemura - High Performance Cleansing Oil Light

I have not fallen in love this product. It works - yes. I don't like the smell tho. I don't like how it leaves my face feeling even after I wash it off with my foaming cleanser. I prefer using jojoba oil. It makes my face feeling soft and super smooth. For 1/3 of the price, I will keep using jojoba oil and I think I'm giving the Shu Uemura to a friend of mine.

Primer/ Corrector -Unlisted Brand - Monistat - Chafing Relief Powder-Gel

I don't know if this has been discontinued or not. I haven't seen it in stores since last summer and it was on major clearance then. I had bought 10 tubes when they were $3ea. I just wanted to review it tho because I LOVE this stuff. If you can still find it where ever you are, definately pick up a tube or 4. From 7am to 7pm, my makeup never needs touching up, I don't need to blot. Eventho my nose is oily, my foundation never budges. For less than $10, it is definately the best primer I have ever used. People should at least try this before buying something more expensive. Why buy Smashbox for $40+ if you can get something that works just as well or better for more than 75% less. I have been using this for a year now and I've not had any major breakouts from using this. In fact, I've not had any major breakouts at all this year so I can't blame anything on using this product...that's why I'm still using it!

Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dr Feelgood
rated 1 of 5
janeeee999 12/27/2009 3:18:00 AM

This stuff comes in a can like Altoid mints. It smells like lemon furniture polish. I really don't know what it is supposed to do but it goes on like wax and makes me face feel covered like I was dipped in wax. I wear mineral make up so my skin can 'breathe' but this stuff defeats what I want to do. It was an expensive gamble because I really don't like it. I have other mattifying creams and lotions, they don't feel waxy like this one. I bought it because some review on youtube LOVED it. They loved how it smelled and how it felt. I hope they had a different product than what I bought. Lemon Pledge is not a great smell to have on my face.

Treatments -Biosilk - Silk Therapy
rated 5 of 5
janeeee999 12/27/2009 2:54:00 AM

This stuff is wonderful. Makes my coarse asian hair feel soft and nice to touch. It is a bit pricey but not as pricey as some. I've bought a 12oz bottle for $24+. The $ value maybe high but you get 12oz. I remember buying a Rusk hair serum for $13 on sale from $17 but it was only 4oz and I didn't work as well as the biosilk. I told a friend and she and her daughter loved it so much that her daughter brought it to school for everyone else to try...she should have bought her daughter her own bottle :)

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Total Face Brush

Wait for a 50% or 60% or 75% off coupon code and get the Studio line ones. Stay away from this one. Another 50cents with a coupon code gets you a brush that is sky high above this one. This one sucks. I agree with another reviewer where they said it felt soft on your hand but it feels like needles on your face. I think it's the way the bristles are cut. This brush is terrible. I threw mine away after 2 uses. I didn't want to be so quick to judge so I used it a second time before I tossed it.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Powder Brush
rated 5 of 5

What would we do without ELF? This $3 brush beats out way more expensive brushes. Nothing in this price range beats this brush. NOT ONE! Nothing that costs 2x as much beats this brush either! Everyday mineral brushes are comparable but they are $12...so 4x as much. Save $8 and get this brush or spend $12 and get 4 of these brushes. Wait for a 50% off coupon code and get 8. I love all the Studio line brushes from ELF. Stay away from the $1 ones because only the eyeshadow brushes are acceptable... the big $1 brushes (blush, powder etc) are garbage.

Eye Primer -E.L.F. - Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
rated 5 of 5
janeeee999 12/26/2009 11:08:00 PM

This stuff is AWESOME!!! I've been using this primer everyday for the past 2 months. It goes on easy, dries fast and invisible over my medium beige skin, even under my eyes. I use mineral eyeshadows that I make myself from pigments and some minerals. I like dark colours and bright colours. My eyeshadow goes on well, easy to blend and stays put all day until I take it off. No creasing either. I tried the proxy primer from Coastal Scents and some cream bases from NYX and paintpots from MAC. They creased terribly. The only time I get fading is when I use cheap eyeshadows that were not pigmented to begin with. Right now I've been wearing a lot of black eyeshadow (Lancome)... no fading, no smudging. If I wanted it darker, I'd foil but that is changing the real colour that you would see when it is on the palette. A primer shouldn't darken the colour of the eyeshadow or change it in anyway because you bought that colour to wear, not because you are hoping for a different colour. It is now 8pm and I put my eyeshadow on at 6am this morning. It's still the same colour. It's $3+ shipping. How can you go wrong? If you buy it on sale, its even cheaper! I don't think I'm looking for different primer unless it becomes discontinued... even then...I have 10 tubes. It'll take me a while because a little goes a long ways. If you are planning to order from ELF, put 1 or 2 in your cart. I don't think there are many make-up products that I do like from ELF - except for their Studio line brushes (LOVE LOVE LOVE those brushes) but I do love this primer. I've still not formed a clear opinion on their High Definition Powder that I got a few weeks ago. .
