Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF 15 - Malt Shake
jamtexas 2/25/2008 11:52:00 PM
Nice plummy color, not brown like I thought it might be (which is a good thing!), no sparkles or frost and SPF 15 to boot. I'm going to get more to keep in my purse & office drawer.
Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF15--Mauve Luxe
jamtexas 2/25/2008 11:39:00 PM
Nice medium mauve color with some sparkle. At first I thought the smell and flavor would be overpowering (as soon as I opened the blister package I could smell grape Tootsie Pop!) but it's really very pleasant. Doesn't last a very long time, but extremely respectable for $1!
Powder -L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Powdered Mineral Foundation
jamtexas 12/11/2007 7:40:00 AM
This matched my skin color perfectly (most L'oreal "ivory" foundations do) and it made it look very natural, concealing my rosacea extremely well. After about a week, my lips became very dry around the edges and the corners kept cracking (ouch!) and I couldn't prevent it. I didn't want to believe it was the foundation because I liked it so much, but I live in Houston, TX, and it certainly wasn't climate. IA few days after I stopped using it, my lips healed completely and I won't be repurchasing. EDIT I had to change this because I suspect that my lip problems may have been caused by the lip balm I was using at the time, but didn't realize it until I grabbed it to use on a recent visit to NY to prevent lip drying & chapping and instead found that it caused it!
Powder -Jane - Be Pure Mineral Makeup with *Puff attached*
jamtexas 10/19/2007 12:17:00 PM
I tried this in colorless. I figured I would use my own brush anyway, and you get twice as much makeup in this package as the one with the brush included. Coverage was almost nonexistent, didn't last, and it seemed like I used much more than I do with L'Oreal's mineral makeup. I don't hate it, I don't like it, just wish I hadn't bothered. Some people here like it, so try it if you're still looking for something that works for you, but you won't really be saving money since you get half as much product as most drugstore brands in the puff container and a quarter of the amount in the brush container.
Skincare - Body -Yves Rocher - Monoi De Tahiti Gardenia Oil

I love the smell of this! To use this, I mix it with Alba unscented body lotion since I really don't like using the oil from the (inconvenient) glass bottle.
I was hoping for a sheer tint of color with subtle shimmer, like Raisin. This is very frosty. There is nothing subtle about it! If you like pale pink, silvery-frosty lips this is for you.
Liquid -Revlon - Age Defying Light Makeup with Botafirm SPF30 [DISCONTINUED]

I prefer a foundation with at least 15 spf because I have fair skin & rosacea. This foundation was okay, but the very lightest shade (fair) is for people with yellow skin tones, and the overall range of shades is very limited. I love the "squeeze tube" packaging, but the makeup is a bit thin, so be careful dispensing it. I would try it again if they added a paler, "cooler" shade to their palette.
With a name like moonlight I was thinking a silvery white. I keep wanting to call it moonstone, because it has an iridescent violet/blue quality like rainbow moonstone. It's very sheer, but it really does have the flash of rainbow moonstone. I love it.
Gels/Soaps -Yves Rocher - Jardins Du Monde - Polynesian Tiare Flower Shower Gel

Intoxicting fragrance, if you like exotic florals. A slightly above averge shower gel for moisturzing. As a shampoo, it does well and is wonderfully fragrant.
This is the perfect color for me! I had sworn off blush for years, since I have rosacea and eventually my skin flushes through my foundation and powder and if my blush doesn't match it looks awful. For 2.49 I figured I could at least try this. This week at Walgreens it's BOGO on Rimmel, so I think I'll get a few more. The packaging can be challenging, and I can easily see myself dropping this while trying to open it having a total loss.
This is a very pale pink with golden shimmer. I've been using it like a base for my other shadows--lashes to brow. This morning I swiped a bit at the outer corners of my lower lashes and, wow, it really brightened my eyes. Since I have very pale skin, it isn't noticeable as a color. Like all Milani shadows, the packaging is a bit difficult, but for such a great shadow I can live with it.
Using a sponge tip applicator dry, this shadow hardly shows up. However, moisten the applicator and the sparkle really pops. A great highlighter, but don't expect a lot of color. The packaging is a little difficult for clumsy fingers, but hey, for $3, it's okay.
Misc Beauty Tools -Earth Therapeutics - Tea Tree Oil Liquid Foot Powder
jamtexas 1/24/2006 9:08:00 PM
I just found this while organizing the bathroom cabinet. I originally purchased it for my daughter who had the worst-smelling feet after her sneakers got wet and no amount of washing, soaking and powder--for several days--worked (sneakers actually had to be tossed!). I chose it for the antibacterial properties of tea tree oil, but did not want to get a pure oil because she has really sensitive skin. After 2 days it worked. It really does have an immediate cooling effect and I know it works for stinky feet.
Lip Gloss -Sally Hansen - Diamond Lip Treatment "Antique Bronze"
jamtexas 1/24/2006 5:21:00 PM
I never would have tried this if I hadn't read about it on MUA, so I picked one up at the grocery store on my way past the display. The scent is like butter cookies, and the texture isn't gummy or overly-thick. I like the brush much better than sponge applicators. Antique Bronze is a beautiful nude mauve color and the sparkles are very understated--I don't feel like it's overdone for work. It really does leave lips softer, too.
I love this--no more nicks! You only need a small amount, it is so easy to open & close (important when you're in the shower) and the smell is wonderful! I got it while we were visiting my sister over the holidays, but they don't have TJ in Texas!
