Crème -Cover Girl - Simply Ageless

Even if I loved this product (which I don't. It's truly horrible), I'd never buy it again because of the packaging. This is the worst, most awkward and poorly designed packaging I have ever seen in foundation.

Fragrances -Clean - Warm Cotton
jamiemp 1/12/2009 5:48:00 PM
I love this one. I think it's a bet pricey for what it is, but I also buy it from HSN on FlexPay. That being said, it smells like, well, warm cotton. It reminds me of sheets from the dryer-there is a lemon scent in there at first, but it goes away quickly on me and just smells clean and fresh. I put some on when I first got it, and my husband kept lurking around me..."Mmm, you smell like soap." He wears it quite a bit now, too.

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Aquaphor Healing Ointment

Nothing heals cracked, dry lips better than this. It's also the only thing that helps my husband's horrible sensitive skin flare-ups. It works on my kids, too. The perfect product!

Treatments -Neutrogena - Rapid Clear 2-in-1 Fight & Fade Gel
jamiemp 12/16/2008 5:18:00 PM
What the heck did everyone else get that I didn't? This is a below-average treatment, and doens't clear up spots any faster than anything else. In fact, I think it's SLOWER than things I've used in the past. It's pretty useless, IMO.

Hair -Unlisted Brand - Bioinfusion Olive Oil Leave-In Conditioner
jamiemp 10/20/2008 1:49:00 PM
I spotted this in the ethnic hair section at Walgreens when I was hunting for a new leave-in conditioner. My hair is naturally frizzy and wavy (can easily be coaxed into curls). It's fine textured, but I have a ton of it. So, my challenge is finding products that smooth it down without removing any volume and body. I think this product works very well. I get smooth, shiny hair without it looking weighed down. I've used this for air-drying with curls and for blowing out straight, and got great results both times. The scent is mild and fades as it dries.

Styling Products -TRESemme - Curl Hydration Lotion Creme
jamiemp 10/20/2008 1:47:00 PM
This is excellent. It creates nice-looking curls (I have wavy-to-curly hair, naturally) that last all day. There really isn't any crunch to speak of, and if I get a bit of that, I can scrunch it right out. I have shoulder-length hair, and I use two pumps all over my hair, then flip my head and scrunch another pump-full through. I will, add, though, that I use leave-in conditioner with this product...It doesn't moisturize enough on its own for me.

Concealers -Physicians Formula - Conceal RX
jamiemp 10/15/2008 4:57:00 PM
I think this is fabulous! The coverage is excellent-I can put this over my blemishes and dark circles with just some powder, and I'm good to go. I like that it's a multi-tasker...I'm tired of one concealer for eyes and another for zits and other skin problems. Finally, the squeeze tube is clean and sanitary. Oh, and I know the "light" color looks super dark in the tube, but it's actually a good match for my pale skin.

Fragrances -mark - earth
jamiemp 10/5/2008 12:58:00 PM
Mmm, I LOVE this new scent! If you've smelled the scratch 'n sniff in the catalogue, it's pretty accurate (the reviewer below me will be happy, I think). To me, it smells just like in the fall when it rains on top of all the leaves on the ground. Very green, earthy, fresh. I like the green bottle, and the cheap price tag. This being Avon/Mark, however, I'm sure they'll discontinue it as soon as they can, since that's what they always do.

Lipstick -Avon - Pro-to-Go Lipstick

Excellent lipstick! The colors are great, the feel on your lips is moisturizing and soft, and the one-handed/no cap packaging is great. It doesn't last too long on my lips, but I love it. I currently own the coral, cherry and glistening rose.

Treatments -Burt's Bees - Naturally Ageless Serum
jamiemp 9/20/2008 11:13:00 AM
Wow, this is the best skincare product I have EVER used. In two nights it cleared up the little breakout I'd had along my jawline for almost 2 weeks that nothing would clear up. In the 3 weeks I've used it, it's diminished any small blemishes, marks, etc that I had. It's made my skin look clear, smooth, creamy and awesome. It's a little oily, but just give it a few minutes to sink in, and it's even okay in the daytime. It smells like lavendar to me, but the smell goes away. I hate the bottle with a passion...I do not like glass in my bathroom! It's pricey for a drugstore item, IMO, but it's a miracle product.

Hair -mark - mega volume
jamiemp 9/17/2008 3:58:00 PM
I wish the various styling products under the "Mega Volume" name were separated, but oh well. I'm reviewing the spray gel, NOT the root-lifter. The spray gel is awesome, and I've repurchased it many times. It gives my hair a lot of height and body, whether I blow-dry or air-dry (a miracle, considering that volumizing stuff never works without heat styling, in my experience). I get a little stiffness when air-drying, but nothing I can't handle. My hair still looks nice and big the next day after using this. I find myself adding it to my hair no matter how I'm wearing it (curly, straight, natural, flat ironed, etc). Not on sale, it's about $5 for a bottle, which is a little more than drugstore prices, considering the size.

Skincare - Body -Aura Cacia - Sweet Almond Natural Skin Care Oil
jamiemp 9/12/2008 10:58:00 AM
I think this is far superior to coconut oil, and less of a hassle. First, this particular brand comes in a squirt bottle, so no messing with warming the chunks of oil until it's liquid, etc. I think I paid about $10 but a 16 oz bottle, which is pretty good, IMO. I use this several ways: First, I remove makeup with it (I do follow-up with a cleanser), and it doesn't sting my eyes at all. Second, I mix a few drops into my body lotion, morning and night. It makes my skin amazing without greasiness. I also use it in my hair, both as a pre-shampoo treatment and as a leave-in (with the tiniest amount). Fabulous!

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Generic Value Products-GVP Smoothing Serum Compare To: Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum
jamiemp 9/11/2008 5:08:00 PM
Awesome stuff! I agree completely with the other reviewer-this really works better than the Paul Mitchell version. Plus, it's a huge bottle for $4.99 (with Sally's card, anyway). It doesn't have the strong apple scent, but that makes no difference to me. It also comes in a plain white bottle, rather than the cool clear with green pump that Paul's does, but who cares? For a fraction of the price, you can get a product that smooths, shortens drying time, and makes your hair rock. Plus, my hair didn't even need a straight-iron with this. I just blow-dried with a round brush, and my hair STILL looked super-straight and shiny the next morning. I love this so much.

Fragrances -Comme des Garcons - Red Series- Carnation
jamiemp 9/9/2008 2:04:00 PM
Eh. Way too pricey for what it is. Truthfully, Skindescent's "Pink Carnation" is much, much better. Stronger, spicier, longer-lasting. Not so wimpy at a fraction of the price.

Treatments -Avon - Advance Techniques Straight & Sleek Dry End Serum
jamiemp 9/4/2008 5:04:00 PM
If you love the Avon anti-frizz capsules, but hate the hassle and cost of them, this is a good alternative. It works the same way, but comes in a pump bottle. I wish they'd sell a larger size, since I use a TON at a time, but it's still more cost-effective. The fact that I'm able to use so much at once is a testament to how grease-free this stuff is. I have shoulder-length wavy, fine and coarse hair (I know, I'm just so hair-blessed, aren't I?), and I use something like 5-6 pumps on my damp hair. It just never gets limp or weighed-down.
