Lip Gloss -Shu Uemura - Vinyl Unlimited - OR 556
rated 5 of 5
jadellly 4/14/2010 4:10:00 AM

I luuuvvvv this vinyl gloss! It comes in a small plastic tube (shaped for applying a lip product), you need a small amount for coloring your lips. This gloss has a great staying power without being to sticky! The color range is quite limited (for the moment?) and offers mainly vibrant shades (pink, red, orange/peach) and transparents ones'. The one I am reviewing is called OR 556 and corresponds to a vibrant tangerine shade. The shade is impressive in the tube but is sooo nice and make your lips look so healthy and beautiful once apply! My lips are naturally really pigmented (red/pink) and this stuff really covers my natural lips color and bright up my complexion! I look really healthy with this lipgloss. The texture is thick but non greasy or sticky (like vinyl, yes). Once apply, the color turns to a beautiful vibrant peach which flatters my complexion when I am tanned (NC 50) or during the winter (NC25). I prefer it for summer time but it is a question of taste. This product is really worth it!

Blush -Shu Uemura - Glow on M pink 31

Shu Uemura blushes are amazing! Very well pigmented, very nice packaging and perfect range of shades. I love them! I am a NC30/35 MAC (Studio fix fluid) and I use this blush to fix my concealer and to bright up the my under eye zone. This works really great, it fixes the concealer without marking the fine lines (I mark on this area quitte easily) It's great also to sculpt the face and to put some highlight on your uppercheek.

Cleansers -Shu Uemura - Cleansing Beauty Oil Premium A/O
rated 5 of 5
jadellly 1/22/2010 5:15:00 AM

This is my favourite makeup remover! I am a bif fan of Shu Uemura but I remain objective on product quality, especially for more expensive brand (like Shu Uemura). The premium A/O cleansing beauty oil is the "anti-oxydants" version of the original "balance oil". It comes in a transparent pump bottle (5oz or 15.2oz), very easy to check how much stuff remains in the bottle!. The oil is not thick, neither thin, in between in fact. It is green with a "green tea/cumcumber" scent, very nice and refreshing. You need 1 to 2 pumps for cleaning your face (depending on how much makeup you use, especially if you use water resistant mascara). Here is how you need to use this product. Spread the oil over your face (dry skin). Insist a bit on your eyes (circular motions). Then, add some luewarm water to emulsify. Rince with lukewarm water. The face is then clean, fresh and hydrating. Some people find this a bit greasy (?), if needed, you can finish your cleansing routine with a toner but to me, this is not necessary (my skin is very dehydrated. This oil is quitte expensive (about 75usd for the big bottle) but last for a while, Using this once a day, the big bottle last for more than a year. I have tried a lot of makeup remover product and this one is my favorite one! It combines effeciency and pleasure to use. Some people complained about the ingredient (paraffinum liquidum & mineral oil) but what I see is the effeciency! When my skin is really dehydrated (or in winter period), I may use the "orange" version which is richer. For guys interested in ingredients: paraffinum liquidum / mineral oil , zea mays / corn germ oil , carthamus tinctorius / safflower seed oil , cetyl ethylhexanoate , peg-20 glyceryl triisostearate , simmondsia chinensis / jojoba seed oil , polysorbate 85 , sorbitan trioleate , sea water , squalane , macadamia ternifolia / macadamia ternifolia seed oil , tocopherol , isostearic acid , glycerin , c12-15 alkyl benzoate , dicaprylyl carbonate , ethyl oleate , isopropyl myristate , camellia sinensis / camellia sinensis leaf extract , capryl glycol / caprylyl glycol , methylparaben , limonene , hexyl cinnamal , benzyl salicylate , linalool , butylphenyl methylpropional , alpha-isomethyl ionone , parfum / fragrance

Concealers -Shu Uemura - Pro Concealer [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5
jadellly 11/14/2009 4:37:00 PM

I am a big fan of Shu Uemura makeup products but I have been disapointed with this concealer. I have grey/brown (kinda taupish) dark circles and I am NC30/35 MAC (SFF). I picked up the shade "7YR" which is a medium light with pinky/peach undertones. It works pretty well with my complexion (yellowish undertones) but it's too cakey for the undereye area and dried this part out during the day. This concealer has anti-shine powders which is definitely not recommended for a so sentivie area. It works great for hidding spots or creating some hihglight (under the foundation). I am anyway disappointed with this concealer as I bought it for my undereye area and I have not that much "spots" problems. Concerning the package, the stuff comes in a in a very simple and basic white plastic box which is modulable and can be fixed to other correcting boxes for creating and customizing your own "correcting" palette.

Skincare - Body -Korres - Lemon Basil Shower Gel
rated 2 of 5
jadellly 8/21/2008 5:19:00 PM

This is my first Korres product and I am quitte disapointed about this one. I was very excited to try this shower gel since I love basil smell (especially in Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Basil Mandarin). This one is supposed to smell basil with a hint of citrus. In reality, the fragrance is not really strong (which could be a + point, depending on what your expectations are under the shower lol) and smells mainly citrus! I couldn't notice any touch of basil in this shower gel... The bottle is very rigid but since the gel consticency is very fluid, it is not a problem for getting the gel out of the bottle. The design is very pure (like the whole range) and "zen", I really like it. My skin is soft and not irritated. I paid 8.4€ in Belgium, which is quitte expensive (but less than l' Occitane) I will try other fragrances since the composition is clean (not on the organic side but free of mineral oils, parabens, no animal testing, etc) and I hope that I will find something that please me :)

Blush -Shu Uemura - Glow on Brown 76
rated 5 of 5
jadellly 8/25/2007 7:53:00 PM

P Brown 76 is a warm peachy brown blush with a bit of shimmer. The texture is very very pigmented, you have to pay attention the first time you use it. On my warm SFF NC35 tone, it gives me this perfect bronzey brown, kind of terracotta tone (but more beautiful). The result is glowy!

Blush -Shu Uemura - Glow On - M Amber 82
rated 5 of 5
jadellly 8/25/2007 7:50:00 PM

M Amber 82 is a matte blush by shu uemura. In pan, the color looks like a mix of light amber, light pink and neutral beige. I am MAC SFF NC30/35 and this color really flatters me! I was afraid that this was too light for my skin tone but not at all. It gives me a very fresh amber pink color to my cheeks. I have to say, I am definitely not a fan of pink shade but this one si so natural!! The texture is great, not too, not less pigmented. The result is very natural, I love shu blushes!

Eye Shadow -Shu Uemura - ME Black 990
rated 5 of 5
jadellly 8/25/2007 7:45:00 PM

ME Black 990 is the metallised version of black by Shu Uemura. This is (no surprise) a deep black with a light metallic reflect. This is my HG for black! I have been using "black tied" (MAC) for a while but as soon as I tried this one, I just gave up my MAC black tied! This eyeshadow is really well pigmented (like most of the shu one's) and give a real black (not a deep grey or charcoal like most of black e/s). The texture is easily blendable, that's quitte rare for a so dark color. I use it for smokey eyes or as a base to intensified other colors. The metallic reflect is perfect, no too brilliant, no glitter, just enough to make the difference with a matte e/s.

Cleansers -Shu Uemura - Cleansing Beauty Oil Premium A/O
rated 5 of 5
jadellly 8/25/2007 7:33:00 PM

I love this makeup removing oil! I know the classical version for a while (and I am a bif fan of it). I tried this one because I wanted something less riched for the spring/summer period. I have a combo and deshydrated skin. This oil doesn't break me out. It removes perfectly the makeup without agressing my skin. You just have to do a kind of massage on your skin, you use only a few amount of oil, and then you rince with water. You can use it on face AND eyes (mine are quitte sensitive and I have absolutely no problems with it). It leaves your skin fresh and proper! I don't know if the anti-oxydants properties are really efficient in this oil but it suits perfectly my skin so I keep with this one even if it is more expensive. I love the green tea sent. The bottle is great, a nice modern design with a very handy pump. The Shu Uemura oils exist in two sizes: 150ml or 450ml (if you buy the largest bottle you spare the equivalent of a normal size bottle in terms of price). I recommand this ++++ but try first a sample before investing your $$$$

Eye Shadow -Shu Uemura - ME Silver 945 [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
jadellly 8/22/2007 5:15:00 AM

ME Silver 945 was a must have by Shu Uemura, no it has been replaced by ME Brown 850 (new formula). This color is trully amazing, a silver taupe that's perfect for smokey eyes. It is brilliant, the texture is so great, very blendable and very well pigmented. It is the only taupe shade that don't accentuate my brown circles! HG!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Rose Blanc
rated 5 of 5
jadellly 5/15/2007 4:54:00 PM

I was not sure about this e/s but I decided to give a try. This az very beautiful white gold, perfect for the highlight. It looks really great on my NC35 skin. The texture is also great, easily blendable! This is a great shade for day or evening makeup, not too iridescent but no too pale so that it gaves you this natural "glow". It makes me thing of the gold shadow of the Amazon quad but more white. If it wasn't LE, I would repurchase :-)

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Eye Brightener [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
jadellly 5/4/2007 8:33:00 AM

I received a very large and generous sample of this product from a friend of mine. I have to say, I have been really impressed by this! My eyes really seemed to be less tired than they are. The texture is light, subtily shimmery, it really opens my eyes. Normally, you should use it after your concealer but I had a very good result with any concealer so ... I received the tint "medium" which is quitte pinky. I have an olive complexion so at first I was disappointed because of the color. But not at all, once applyied it matchs perfectly my skin tone. (NC35). Will repurchase again!
