BB Cream -L'Oreal - Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream
jackie84 3/27/2013 5:00:00 PM
Price: $7.99 at Target Amount: 1 fluid ounce Shade: Light (I'm NC 25-30 depending on season) Overall, nice face product that doesn't break me out. It is VERY sheer. I use it like a tinted moisturizer/primer and use my Make Up For Ever Pro Finish face powder all over it. Then I have a natural, non-oily, no fuss makeup look that lasts all day. It makes my makeup routine only about 5-10 minutes in the morning as opposed to full face makeup. Nice for the price and I would repurchase.

So much better than the DUO glue you see eveywhere. I have only been able to buy this at Walmart, but is well worth the trip. No mess. No waste. Very precise. Dries clear! (The DUO would sometimes dry a nasty yellow) Overall, fave beauty buy/find this year! :)

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous in Coral Reef
jackie84 7/21/2012 7:52:00 PM
Opaque, true coral, shiny, long wearing lipgloss. I got it on sale for $5.99. It's usually $7.99 at my local grocery store. Super cheap for the quality. No gaudy teenager design. Love it! I used to buy only MAC lipglasses... Now I know I can get the same quality for less than half the price.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Million Lashes - waterproof
jackie84 9/21/2011 10:34:00 PM
L'oreal did such a good job with this one! I was using Cover Girl Lash Blast before and this really blows it out of the water. One coat and they're like falsies! Keeps curl all day. Super black. Reasonable price. I need the waterproof because nothing else will hold curl on my stick straight asain lashes. I am the type that loves big dramatic lashes even when I go to the grocery store so this is my type of mascara. Love it and hope they never discontinue it!

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - One 'n Only - Hydrating Mask
jackie84 4/28/2011 10:27:00 PM
Holy silkiness, batman! I absolutely love what this product does for my hair. I went through a huge dye job with my hair... dying it at home, then getting it fixed at the salon, and then torturing it with highlights. My poor head of hair is basically very expensive straw. My stylist advised to use a hair mask on it at least once a week. I was going to invest in the Macadamia Oil hair mask, but it was retailing at $30 a jar! EEEEK! This little miracle was on sale @ Sally's, buy 2 get 1 free. I got the shampoo, conditioner, the mask, and a small bottle of the argan oil treatment for ~$23 after taxes. Still cheaper than ONE jar of the Macadamia Oil! I came home and immediately did a hair mask treatment. I am happy to say my hair smells wonderful, feels wonderful, and is shiny to boot. Buy this! Do yourself a favor! Your hair will thank you :)

Styling Products -John Frieda - Luxurious Volume Lavish Lift Root Booster
jackie84 4/18/2011 9:08:00 PM
My Hair: Asian, black, long, straight, thick, flat. I have not tried any other root lifters to be honest, but I loved this one. It did what it promised - created lift at the roots. It also keeps my oily roots nice and dry. I spray this into my roots after towel drying my hair and then rub Biosilk silk therapy into my ends. So far it's working pretty well. Also, they've changed the packaging on this product. It's now called "Luxurious Volume Blow-Dry Lotion Root Booster" and is in a baby blue bottle instead of the periwinkle blue bottle that I see posted on this page. They had some of the old versions next to the new packaging at Walmart. That's how I know they're the same. Also, alcohol is NOT the first ingredient on this new packaging so maybe they've changed the formulation as well? Anyway, def recommend!

Shampoo -Batiste - Dry Shampoo
jackie84 4/15/2011 6:20:00 PM
The only other dry shampoo I've tried is Tresseme's and I absolutely hated it. It left my hair oiler than it had started off as and smelled horrible! Then I went to Makeup Alley for help! This was one of the highest rated dry shampoos on the board and so I bought a can from Sally's. Love it! Easy to use. Blends into my hair easily. Makes it refreshed and helps absorb the oils in my hair. I use this mainly on on-call nights for the hospital, since it saves so much time and keeps me from having to shampoo my hair so frequently. Less pricey that the higher end brands (ex: Oscar Blandi), but more pricey than most drugstore brands (ex: Tresemme) at around $8. Worth it.

Eye Makeup Remover -Sonia Kashuk - Remove
jackie84 4/13/2011 6:14:00 PM
Previous makeup removers used: Almay Moisturizing Eye Makeup Remover Pads (like but too oily), Lancome Bi-Facil (love but too expensive), Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover (bad - did not get off any of my waterproof makeup), Neutrogena Makeup Remover Towelettes (convenient but very irritating to my skin) So this stuff is... AWESOME. Around $10 for 4.75oz at target, it is a higher priced eye makeup remover. You get what you pay for though. I've paid more for makeup remover (lancome's bi-facil) and I feel as though this gives me basically the same result. Gentle, total makeup removal (including waterproof!) for my contact lens wearing, sensitive eyed self. Love it. No scent. No oily residue. Takes off eye makeup without taking out my lashes. Everything I want in an eye makeup remover. Will be buying again and again!

Misc Beauty Tools -New York Color - dual pencil sharpener
jackie84 4/10/2011 1:48:00 PM
Ugh. Ruined my nice eyeliner pencils (UD 24/7 eyeliner)!! I now know that it makes a difference what kind of sharpener you buy. This little guy was just sharpening the black parts holding the pencil not the actual pencil "lead". Now I need to buy something to fix the damage :(

Polishes -China Glaze - Secret Peri-Wink-le
jackie84 4/9/2011 11:56:00 AM
a-mazing! i saw this on a youtube guru's vlog and instantly had to have it! perfect purpley-blue. probably my go to color for spring/summer. the application was effortless! i think i like china glaze better than OPI for application.. not goopy or streaky. and it's cheaper too! i got this along with "for audrey" and "turned up turquoise" from sally's when it was their buy 2 polishes get 1 free so they ended up being $3.33 a piece. i just painted them today so i don't know how long they'll end up staying on my nails. i work in the hospital so i wash my hands constantly and usually polishes only last about 2 days before chipping. let's see! overall, totally would re-buy. love everything about it!

Eyeliner -Milani - Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil - brown
jackie84 4/8/2011 1:32:00 PM
I was super bummed that the only way you could get a hold of the Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in "Whiskey" was by either buying it their NAKED palette ($44) or by buying it in their eyeliner duo pack with the other color flipside + grindhouse sharpener ($29). That's a lot of money when all I wanted was the one eyeliner! Plus, Urban Decay eyeliners retail for $18 a piece! Though this "Brown" is darker than "Whiskey" (milani's is more like an espresso brown whereas whiskey gives you a chocolate brown) it still gives that same smooth consistency and staying power that I wanted/needed. Both glide on so well and as long as you don't smudge it within the first 15 seconds that it's on your lids they'll stay put all day long! Buy it if you're looking for a brown without sparkles, stays put, and glides over your lids without tugging. Great for the waterline also! OH, and make sure you get a good eye-makeup remover b/c this stuff will not come off with just washing your face!

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Xtreme Wear Lacey Lilac 270
jackie84 4/7/2011 8:27:00 PM
Dirt cheap. Super goopey. Super trendy. Great for easter/spring shennanigans. Well worth my $2.50. Also, to cure the goopiness just buy nail polish thinner... believe me you will use it over and over again... got mine @ Sally's. Hope this helps!

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Xtreme Wear - Mint Sorbet
jackie84 4/7/2011 8:25:00 PM
LOVE! i've been on the hunt for a mint green nail polish that didn't break the bank. Revlon's "minted" was very disappointing. This is great! it is extremely opaque and therefore the formula is super duper thick BUT... a few drops of Beauty Secrets Nail Polish Thinner (got mine @ Sally's) and it was the exact consistency of most of my OPI nail polishes. Love love love. I'm most excited that it was only @ $2.50 since it's so trendy.

Liquid -Shiseido - Perfect Refining Foundation
jackie84 3/26/2011 6:07:00 PM
Awesome color match and coverage! I'm Asian with golden undertones and usually NC25-30 in MAC. I got matched with O40. Covers the few breakouts I get on my chin and stays on all day. Love the tiny black plastic packaging which makes it so easy to travel with. Comes with 1 fluid ounce like all the other foundations but in less wasteful packaging. Love it. Retails for $38.50 at Macy's where I got it. BUY BUY BUY if you're looking for medium coverage foundation for normal/combo skin.
