Lip Gloss -MAC - Lipglass in Prrr
j_leigh69 12/30/2011 1:03:00 AM
Neat shade and nice texture, but I'm pale and this just looks kinda crappy on me. To be fair, I seem to have an especially consistent tendency to go for the deeper shades like berry, coral, etc so maybe shades like Prrr just aren't my thing. I may still wear it once in a while just to do it, but it's not my favourite.

Moisturizers -Desert Essence - Jojoba Oil - 100% pure
j_leigh69 12/30/2011 12:52:00 AM
I've been using Jojoba oil for years - I'll review this brand however it's probably worth noting that different brands have worked equally well for me. I use it as a makeup remover and I find it to be very gentle and effective. I also sometimes use it as a moisturizer at night; it's soothing and doesn't clog the pores. It hasn't done anything miraculous for me, but I like it. The only downside is that you need to really make sure to remove any excess before applying eye makeup, otherwise you will get a lot of smudging, so make sure to wash your face afterward.

Fragrances -LUSH - Karma
j_leigh69 6/7/2011 7:40:00 PM
Another Karma lover right here. I don't understand all the reviews of people saying it smells awful. There must be some genetic factor that makes it smell awful to certain people :) All kidding aside, I cannot stop smelling my wrists all day after applying this, and even my young male friends lunge at me and stick their head into my neck whenever I'm wearing it. The other descriptions are spot on - it smells fizzy, if that makes sense. Like you can smell the little bubbles in it. MM mmm mmm

Eyeliner -Stila - sparkle waterproof liquid eye liner
j_leigh69 6/1/2011 10:04:00 PM
This is an excellent, excellent liquid liner. I have bought one for myself and a few for my friends, and we all agree that it's amazing. The colour is very rich and sparkly. It is an absolute breeze to apply, I've never experienced such effortless precision and smoothness with a liquid liner before. It is truly waterproof and will not smudge one bit. Highly recommend!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lil' Hot Pepper

I LOVE THIS. It's the perfect red for me. Not too bright, not too orange, not too coral, not too rose, but a subtle blend of all of those tones. Really brightens up my face.

Skincare - Body -Glytone - Keratosis Pilaris Kit
j_leigh69 11/26/2010 9:09:00 PM
I hate to be the first negative reviewer here, but I have been using this product for over a month now and sadly, it really has not worked for me one bit. My arms feel just as rough and bumpy as they used to, if not more. I don't think that this product actually made my KP worse, I think that the winter season approaching is making it worse and this product simply isn't doing anything to help it. I do like the way that the body wash feels, I sometimes wash my face with it and it makes it feel nice, but does nothing for the areas of my body that are affected by KP. I guess it makes the unaffected areas feel kinda soft, but that's about it. This is especially disappointing for me because of the amount of money that I spent on this product. My first order of the product never arrived, and after arguing with USPS for ages and ages, I finally gave up because they refused to help me, despite the product being confirmed as sent. However after a few months I decided to order it again because of all the rave reviews. So I ordered from another provider and when it finally arrived I was really hoping that it would work considering that I'd just dropped $120 CAD. I am sure that this product really has worked for others...I wish I knew why it isn't helping me. I'm going to continue using it until I use up all of the product, I might as well. Maybe it will magically start working. After that I think I'll try Neostrata (which has done wonders for my face) or Paula's Choice. :(

Lotions/ Creams -LUSH - Dream Cream
j_leigh69 8/7/2010 1:57:00 PM
I went to LUSH to buy this product after reading the rave reviews here. I am trying a combination of things to combat my dry skn and Keratosis Pilaris, as well as a patch of eczema on the palm of my hand and inbetween my fingers. This product definitely delivers. I didn't realize how much moisture my skin actually needs until I used this on my skin and saw how much more moisturizing it is than my Curel and St. Ives lotions. This definitely soothes my skin a lot and delivers moisture to the dry and scaly areas on my legs. I'm also hoping it will assit in fading this scar I have on my buttocks from when I burnt myself with a TCA chemical peel. It doesn't claim to fade scars but some reviewers have mentioned that it helped them. I just ordered Glytone KP Kit which is supposed to be a godsend for treating Keratosis Pilaris, so I'm hoping that Glytone, in combination with Dream Cream, will keep my skin relatively clear this coming Winter (Canadian winters = death). The only thing I don't really like about this is the smell. The scent isn't overpowering at all, it's kind of just herbal/lavender smelling which isn't my favourite, but it's not that big of a deal. The texture of this cream is like pudding and it feels amazing to apply. It takes a little while to sink in and leaves a little bit of a sticky feeling for a while after applying but I'd rather have that than having rough, bumpy, scaly skin.

Hair -Kiss My Face - Big Body Shampoo
j_leigh69 11/5/2008 4:02:00 PM
Okay, so I'm not a huge fan of the smell, but if you follow up with the big body conditioner it helps. I also found this to be a little bit difficult to work into a lather compared to traditional shampoos, but that's to be expected considering that it is SLS free. BUT this shampoo actually DOES volumize my hair..noticeably..and moreso than any other shampoo I've used. VERY NICE! I also got this on sale at Target while I was visiting the USA for...$1.99!!!

Lip Gloss -C.O. Bigelow - Mentha Lip Tint 1136 Nude
j_leigh69 8/22/2008 7:26:00 PM
Love this product. I live in Canada where this line is not available, but I managed to pick up a few of these at Bath and Body Works at the Atlanta airport on my way to SC. I absolutely love the flavour of this, it tastes sweet but has a minty fresh scent that cools and freshens your breath. I got this for 5 dollars a pop because there was a buy 2, get 1 free deal. I will definitely purchase more of these next time I'm travelling.

Treatments -Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - TCA Peel
j_leigh69 5/15/2008 1:37:00 AM
Okay, so I ordered the 12.5 to start because my skin is used to glycolic acid products. The first peel I did, I began with one layer, and then worked up to a third layer. It did not burn or sting. A few days later, my face got a little bit flakey in a few areas, but that was the most of it. I decided to repeat the peel 2 weeks later, this time applying the acid with a cotton face pad as opposed to a q-tip. On about day 5 my face got pretty flakey on my cheeks and nose, which naturally sloughed off after about 2 days. My face does look a little bit better, the makeup seems to go on smoother and it has more of a glow to it. However, it has yet to do anything for the pimple scars along my lipline and other discolouration issues. I also tried this on my thighs, arms and buttocks usining several generous layers of the acid, but virtually nothing happened. I will repeat the treatments until my bottle runs out, and next time I plan to order 18 percent for my face and perhaps something stronger to use on my body.

Lip Treatments -Fusion Beauty - LipFusion Lip Plumping Gloss
j_leigh69 1/9/2008 10:12:00 PM
A bit on the expensive side, but this is a great gloss. Awesome, natural looking shiny colours. Each time I apply this I can clearly feel the collagen expansion in my lips. It still doesn't compare to injections in my opinion (which appear unnatural sometimes anyway, so that's okay). Smells great, looks great, and makes the lips look a bit fuller. One lippie off for being mega expensive.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
j_leigh69 1/9/2008 8:43:00 PM
HG facewash. Leaves me face looking clean and bright, doesn't leave me dry or tight and doesn't leave any residue. Sure it's true that it's kind of hard to take all of your makeup off with it, but I wear a fair amount of makeup and I find that if I clean and rinse twice in a row, its all gone and I just wipe off the rest with cetaphil moisturizer. I like that it's a no frills wash, it cleans your face and that's it, no fragrance or fancy stuff. Will continue repurchasing, and using other products only when exfoliation is necessary...cheers

Lotions/ Creams -Curel - Curel Continous Comfort Lotion Fragrance Free
j_leigh69 1/9/2008 8:35:00 PM
This is a great, all-over body lotion. It's the perfect consistency, it spreads easily and feels like silk without being watery or thin. My skin feels nice and soft until the next time i shower, and it's ultra-moisturizing without being so sticky that I can't pull my jeans on, LOL. It has no scent which is a bonus, as I find myself hard pressed to find a good lotion that doesn't smell like perfume. Great price too. Definitely a staple.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
j_leigh69 1/7/2008 12:59:00 PM
I just decided to try the aspirin mask yesterday, so I give it 4/5 for now just because I don't really know how it'll work for me long term. I crushed about 4 aspirin and mixed it with a little bit of water and active manuka honey and slathered in on my face. My immediate reaction was that I started to feel a bit dizzy, but I can be a bit of a hypochondriac so I layed down for a couple of minutes and surely snapped out of it. After rinsing it off my face felt clear and smooth and it helped tone down the redness on my face (KP rubra faceii) just a little bit. While I have no doubts that this will be a great and cheap 3x weekly mask for my face, I decided to experiment a little bit more and came up with a mixture to slather on my arms, thighs and buttocks in an attempt to treat my Keratosis Pilaris. I crush up about 6 aspirins to cover my thighs and buttocks and another 3 or 4 for my arms. I mix this with pure Vitamin E oil and active manuka honey, leaving it on for about 15 minutes and playing dance dance revolution in my undies :P I just rinsed this mixture off my thighs and butt and they do indeed feel nice and smooth, however I can't vouch for this being an effective KP treatment just yet because I have onlyy used it once. The Vitamin E oil makes it a bit hard to get off because its very sticky and dosnt seem too water soluble, so it's best to do this treatment just before you get in the shower so that you can wash it off with body wash. You can of course use regular honey instead of Manuka honey, which is a special type of super antibacterial honey that I imported from new zealand. I will update this review again in a few weeks to see if it has improved the condition of my KP...
