Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Moisture Sensitive Skin
rated 1 of 5

pros: absorbs easily, doesn't remain oily when absorbed, cheap, great packaging (includes a pump), decent sized bottle, don't think it broke me out. cons: even after it absorbs my skin still looks oily and it turns quiet red, it stings upon application which is really bad considering it's for sensitive skin, my dry and flaky patches remain dry and flaky no matter how much i apply, and my worst con for this moisturiser is that it's made in taiwan so i chucked it straight in the bin! no wonder it's cheap and it stings, god knows what cheap ingredients they use over there in the neutrogena products so i'm definately not repurchasing any neutrogena products anymore.

Foundations -Almay - TLC Truly Lasting Color
rated 1 of 5
ivana01 5/16/2011 3:26:00 AM

i was going to purchase this foundation today after reading some good reviews on here about it but lucky i tried it on my face before doing so! it is so thick that it literally freaked me out and i tried a bit on the side of my face and the coverage is so sheer and greasy looking that every imperfection came through and it accentuated dryness, flakiness and even those tiny facial hairs we have on our faces so much (i'm on roaccutane at the moment so i'm on the hunt for a foundation suitable for my really dry/flaky skin), it's also expensive for the brand that it is (AUD$32.95) and the huge list of ingredients is just scary, something with such a huge list of ingredients can't be right! the only good thing about this foundation is the pump bottle. i'm purchasing nude by nature next so a review for that will be up shortly.

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Excellence Creme

i absolutely loved this product so i just had to write a review! i've spent so much money going to salons to get foils or my hair bleached in order to go light and it never turns out to the colour that i really wanted so i had enough and just let my natural hair colour grow out that is until i came across this product and felt risky enough to see what would happen if i applied a lighter hair colour to my current dark brown hair so i picked up the very light pearl blonde (10.21) colour and really liked that a protective serum was included in the pack so i put it through my ends which are the most dry and damaged and left it on while preparing the the mixture, then i put the mixture on starting from my roots and all the way through to my ends so it covers evenly, left it on for 30 minutes as recommended (always follow instructions so you don't get disappointed that the colour didn't turn out the same as on the side of the box) and washed it out with the conditioner also included in the pack! the result: an even, beautiful dark blonde/caramel hair colour was accomplished just as shown on the side of the box, along with really soft and healthy hair. couldn't be happier with this brand and my new 2-3 shades lighter hair colour! definately a recommended, inexpensive product.

Liquid -Bourjois - Healthy Mix Foundation
rated 2 of 5
ivana01 5/7/2011 8:12:00 AM

here are my pros and cons for this foundation! pros: smells nice, features fruit ingredients/extracts, dewy finish (for those who like it), didn't get oily, good packaging cause it's plastic and it can't break, has a pump. cons: expensive, very sheer coverage and unbuildable (still needed to use a concealer after application), doesn't seem to blend very well into the skin and it just seems to sit on top, it looks absolutely terrible on dry or flakiness, not many shades to choose from and it doesn't mention that it's oil free or non-comedogenic anywhere so i'm guessing it could probably block pores and cause blemishes. in the mean time, i'm going back to the maybelline dream liquid mousse foundation for now and probably won't be repurchasing this foundation again!

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Ego - QV Gentle Wash Re-Hydrate
rated 5 of 5
ivana01 5/4/2011 2:23:00 AM

this cleanser's great! it's meant to be for body use but everyone i know uses it for their face, including myself. it's pH balanced, low-irritant formulation, free from fragrance, colour, lanolin and propylene glycol and is also suitable for sun-damaged skin and conditions such as dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis which i'm prone to! even though it doesn't mention acne-prone skin i'm pretty sure it's still safe to use on such as it's non-comedogenic and it hasn't caused any breakouts for me personally. my dermatologist personally recommended me this cleanser as i'm about to go on roaccutane treatment (for the third time already) again. in general, it's a great product as opposed to really expensive brands that talk themselves up and the results are never as they claim!

Liquid -Maybelline - Dream Liquid Mousse
rated 1 of 5
ivana01 5/2/2011 2:32:00 AM

i'm still not too sure about this product as i've only just started wearing it but here are my pro's and con's. pro's: inexpensive, love the pump bottle, i absolutely love the coverage as i've got acne, acne scars, dry patches and it covers all of that beautifully and i believe it is buildable, definately an airbrushed finish, so easy and quick to put on and the tiniest amount is needed. con's: in a couple of hours it starts to get shiny and oily looking and not just on my t-zone but everywhere and i'm not sure whether it gives me pimples yet cause i've only just started using it but i haven't notice any new ones just yet. i really like this product but the only reason why i wouldn't purchase it again is because of the way it starts getting shiny so quickly, damn it! edit: i suspect this has completely broken me out so i'm returning to my estee lauder double wear light foundation. another edit: gave to my mum to use because i didn't want to throw it out as it was just purchased and she broke out like crazy and she never breaks out so i changed the overall rating to 1 = worst.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Honey
rated 4 of 5
ivana01 4/22/2011 9:05:00 AM

i just recently bought the manuka umf 18+ honey at a health store for $30 for a 250g jar which is small and pretty expensive for honey and the packaging is unhygienic but each time i need to dip into it i use a new teaspoon! anyway, i've used it three times already as a mask after cleansing at night and leave it on for 15-30 minutes and it dissolves right off with warm water and my skin felt amazing straight away. so, it's been three days and my skin seems to glow a bit more, dry patches feel and look better, eczema that i'm prone to seems to have settled, my pimples have dried out noticeably and it seems as though my acne scars have faded a tad but i don't want to speak positively too soon because it's too early to tell if my skin will remain like this or backfire on me like usual. i'll edit this review in a few weeks time to let you guys know how it goes! ps, if you're considering the manuka honey which is probably better than any other honey (also, extremely easy to apply on the face) i suggest using the umf 10+ or preferably anything above as it contains more antibacterial property hence, a faster result!

Lipstick -MAC - Satin Lipstick - Myth
rated 4 of 5
ivana01 4/6/2011 9:52:00 PM

i've tried a lot of nude lipsticks and this has to be my favourite, i'm never changing to another lipstick again! it's such a beautiful colour but make sure you top it off with a lipgloss such as the mac lipglass c-thru otherwise it will look too cakey and dry but the lasting power is great, it lasts really long. as for the people that are complaining about it being too dry, have you ever heard of moisturising your lips? most lipsticks look like shit on if you have dry/chapped lips anyway so make sure you keep your lips moisturised. will definately buy again but thumbs down for it being too expensive!

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear LIGHT Foundation SPF10
rated 5 of 5
ivana01 12/7/2010 9:47:00 PM

pro's: did not cause one breakout at the end of the night, good coverage but doesn't make you look like you're wearing a cake on your face, it kept my oily skin at bay but didn't dry me out, staying power is awesome even after i started sweating it still stayed in place, didn't seem to oxidise at all. con's: pretty expensive and the packaging is tiny, feels a little sticky on the skin, colour choice is limited and it only comes in neutral undertones but overall it's got to be my favourite foundation and i'll definately be buying again.

Lotions/ Creams -Cetaphil - Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion For Dry Sensitive Skin
rated 2 of 5
ivana01 12/7/2010 9:37:00 PM

i've tried hundreds and thousands of moisturisers on my face even really expensive ones or ones that my dermatologist prescribed me that didn't even do anything or just caused breakouts but this has got to be the best moisturiser ever! occasionally i suffer from eczma or dermatitis and ever since i've been using this it has definately helped keep my skin hydrated, less itchy and has not caused breakouts whatsoever so that's a huge plus! definately a recommended product, it even comes in a huge tube that lasts forever, not too pricey and just generally a great product. edit: not using it for my face anymore so i'll stick with using it on my body as it feels too greasy and it doesn't absorb really well on the face. it seems to cause blocked pores, hence i break out with pimples everytime i wake up after using it so im swapping to QV face moisturising day cream spf 30+ and a review for that will be up shortly.

Liquid -MAC - Mineralize Satinfinish SPF 15 Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 1 of 5
ivana01 12/3/2010 10:45:00 PM

pro's: comes with a pump, great choice in colours, decent coverage, nice sheer to medium finish, not too pricey, doesn't oxidize. con's: feels sticky when applied, shimmery, sweats off, melts off in heat and humidity, too oily and the worst bit is the next morning it makes you break out like crazy so not recommended and will never buy again.

Liquid -Almay - Clear Complexion Blemish Healing Makeup
rated 2 of 5
ivana01 12/2/2010 6:03:00 AM

i've just started using this and so far it seems to turn really orange after a while, the coverage isn't too bad but it's way too drying and it really accentuates my dry patches and it looks like im wearing a cake on my face! and im not sure if it's the foundation causing it but everytime i take it off it seems like i've gotten more than a few new spots and im not planning on buying it again. im trying the MAC face and body foundation next so wish me luck people and a review will be out shortly!

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination/Oily Skin
rated 1 of 5
ivana01 12/2/2010 5:56:00 AM

i've tried to like this foundation many times but it dissapoints me everytime. pretty thick and dries very quickly hence ends up patchy on my face, turns orange after a while, accentuates my dry patches, seems to stick to my face too much and it's hard to take off so it's mostly probably the reason why i end up with pimples at the end of the night.

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup
rated 2 of 5

goes on nicely but it's too shimmery and i'm pretty sure the shimmer clogs my pores hence why i always break out after wearing it so i wouldn't buy it again but the pump bottle's awesome and i think every foundation should come in a pump bottle.
