i love this foundation! I like my foundations to be light coverage, almost like tinted moisturizer but just a bit more. I got sample of this when it first came out and went to the mall to purchase it when I stopped by the Dior counter for something else. The Dior sales lady persuaded me to the Dior Nude foundation and saying that it was super light coverage and has better ingredients than the Vitalumiere. I bought the Dior and wasn't sold on it. I still liked the Chanel better. Fast foward more than a year and I finally purchased this foundation and couldn't be happier! This has never broken me out, it provides an even flawless coverage without it looking cakey. Also, this does not turn dark on me like some other foundations can. Other comments that they dont like the packaging but I love it! It's lightweight bottle so its good for when I travel and its squeeze (not pump) which means I can get every last drop out of it.
This lip balm/ tint/ stain was really pretty. I liked it a lot. Unfortunately, the color didn't really match my skin tone. I wanted something a little more natural and this deposits a lot of color onto my lips. It just wasn't what I was looking for. It was quite expensive at $16 for one. The lasting power was great! I put it on around 10am and it lasted me through lunch to until around 3ish. The shine wore off so you just needed to add a bit of lip balm . Overall this is a great if you're looking for a lipstick / tint with color. I won't be repurchasing because the color choices were limited.
I love this eye shadow duo! The colors are so complimentary and looks wonderful on. It's expensive but this will last a long time. The colors are very pigmented,as are all NARS products so not a lot is needed. The texture is extremely smooth and velvety, it makes me feel like I am using something much more expensive. I use the colors as an everyday to work and sometimes i add some darker colors in the crease for a evening/ going out look. So versatile. This is a definite keeper in my books :)
Makeup Brushes -Sigma - F30 Large Powder Brush (was SS150)
itzmarylicious 8/28/2012 2:40:00 PM
I bought this because I needed a powder brush to apply my morning powder to my skin. Since I don't use foundation I needed this to provide me with a light/medium coverage. I read reviews on how Sigma brushes are similar to MAC in quality but much cheaper. I took a chance and order this brush. When I first got it, it was great, it worked fine and applied how I wanted. Then I started to notice that it was shedding like crazy. Everyday I would have to take off the brush hairs off of my face because it was coming off so frequently. I thought maybe it was because it was new so I didn't think much of it. I washed it and many more hairs came off. Now after 4 washes, I am still having the same problem. I don't think its going to get better. I still have a MAC blush brush I bought in college and its holding up fantastic after 5 or 6 years! So I would say the quality isn't the same. Unfortunately, I won't be repurchasing this item.
This is a great everyday color but can be mixed for a little more 'oomph'. it gives you just a hint of color without it being overwhelming. I really like the consistency of this and isn't drying at all. I do wish that it has a little more staying but I guess that would make the lipstick a little more drying. Overall this is great and I would repurchase.
Eyeliner -Sonia Kashuk - Dramatically Defining Long Wear Gel Liner
itzmarylicious 7/24/2012 11:49:00 AM
This is such a great dupe for Bobbi Brown's gel eye liner without the high price! I bought this 3x and loved it all 3x. It produces the same results and staying power. Nothing bad to say about this. I agree with the previous reviewer, this one didn't dry out as fast as the Bobbi Brown version. So that is even a bigger plus!
Cleansers -Amore Pacific - Treatment Cleansing Foam
itzmarylicious 7/24/2012 11:41:00 AM
This cleanser is great. It removes all the oil from my face and a decent amount of makeup. I use this with my clarisonic mia and use only a tiny bit. It produces a great amount of lather / foam. With that said, for the price this cleanser isn't worth it. Even though I only use a small pea size amount and a bottle at $50 would last me probably 6 months, it's still expensive. While its decent at removing makeup it still doesn't remove as much as my purpose cleanser (yes the $5 facial cleanser from the drugstore). I only wear powder or a light tinted moisturizer and this cleanser always left a trace behind. This cleanser probably isn't great for someone with dry skin, my skins is really oily and it removed all traces of oil. I doubt I would be able to use this in the wintertime. I gave it a 3 because it did a decent job but lost a few lippies for price and the fact that it didn't WOW me, it did what a $5 cleanser did, if not worse.
Before this I was using Philosophy purity foaming cleanser. I liked it but it almost always made my skin really tight after wards. I usually don't mind the tightness since I like the clean feeling but it just kept getting worse especially when I was finishing up my second bottle. Sometimes I couldn't even open my eyes it was so drying. I would have to put vaseline in the corner of my eye immediately or it'd hurt. I have oily skin too!!! I bought this after reading some reviews, which were mixed but I liked that it claimed it was gentle while it was foaming. It also claimed it removed makeup (as so did the Philosophy one). After about a week, I noticed that my skin wasn't tight after washing it. It is still winter so it is still a little tight but def. not as much as the Philosophy purity. I also bought it b/c it was worth a shot since Sephora has a pretty good and understanding return policy. Differences between the two: 1. Philosophy was much more drier. 2. Caudalie removed makeup much better! Almost with no scrubbing (even mascara). 3. Caudalie has a fresh smell compared to Philosophy 'soapy' smell 4. Philosophy pump would get stuck about half way through the bottle, not a biggie but def. inconvenience. I tend to break out really easily and this hasn't broken me out yet. My skin is pretty sensitive and breaks out REALLY easily but this has helped with the clarity and prepping the skin for my derm topical products. It is expensive (about $5 more than Philosophy) but I think its worth it. I bought my bottle about a month ago and I'm half way through now. I guess it goes through pretty fast but I think it's worth it. I took one lippie off b/c it goes through pretty fast for the price other than that it's really good. well def. repurchase
I recently returned this back to sephora after using it for about 3 weeks. When i first put this on my skin, it sinks in immediately. My face then gets kind of sticky but I put my mineral makeup on and everything is ok. I just feel like this didn't really do anything for my skin. The moisturizing quality is barely even there. My skin is normal and I feel like after putting this on, it didn't help with moisturizer. My skin is acne prone. This product didn't break me, but i believe it did make my blackheads worse. I returned the product because I couldn't justify paying $28 for a moisturizer that 1) i had to use 3 pumps of to even feel a little big moisturized 2) that didn't do anything for me!! I truly believe that a drug store brand could do much better. FYI, I'm not an expert but all that fruit juice/ fruit extracts cant be that good for your skin, since some fruits have high acidity and fruit is very sugary (possibly causing the stickiness of my skin after application). I won't be repurchasing this product again.
I bought this product at a spa where I got a facial. My facial therapist recommended it to me since my skin was very clogged. I looked at the price $ 80 for a 4.9 oz.!!! So expensive. I bought it anyways thinking it must work for such a high price. with any product, I didn't see a immediate change in my skin but after using it for 3 times, I can see that it has helped clear my pores. The results aren't dramatic but I can see some change in my skin. It is softer and has a more even tone. I gave it a 4 as overall rating seeing that my skin didn't change to perfect from using it. I would really like to give this product a 3.5 because the price tag is much too high for a product like this. I am sure I can find something much better for the price I gave it a 4 in price because it is pretty high but affordable because it seem it will last for a long time I like the packaging and the smell of the product. It is very natural smell. It comes in a tube and does not dry out. Most of the times the product dries out so you can't even finish the tube. I will probably buy this product again b/c it seems this product gives slow improvement.
I love this shampoo! It makes my hair really shiny and soft. I usually use different type of shampoo with this conditioner but it always leaves my hair shiny and soft like silk! I have thin hair but alot of it...so i need help in the volume department and this product does not weigh my hair down. On a side note, I purchase this at Whole foods and they have a 100% money back guarantee on any products that you don't love. so it's worth giving a try.
Lip Treatments -Murad - Murad Energizing Pomegranate Lip Therapy SPF 15
itzmarylicious 3/11/2008 10:04:00 PM
I bought this product in the middle of winter because my lips were getting so chapped. Even though I read some negative comments I was still hopeful. At first my lips were getting better but i became really addicted to putting this on. It absorbed so quickly that within about 30 mins my lips felt dry again and I would have to reapply to make it feel better. I had to return it because it wasn't really doing anything fantastic that was worth my $16
I love this lip balm. I always keep it with me no matter what. If i buy another lip balm I will still have this with me. It's a staple in my bag. I love the cooling effect of it and how it moisturizes my lips.
I have NC 30 skin and it shows up great when i put it on top of my blush. It really makes my skin glow. I hope they come out with more of this.
Shampoo -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Lemon Clarifying Shampoo
itzmarylicious 1/21/2008 3:20:00 PM
I am in love with this shampoo!! It is awesome. I purchased it on a trip to Whole Foods knowing that I needed a clarifying shampoo. So, Sunday comes around and I haven't gotten around to washing my hair for the past 4 days b/c I've been so busy. I used it and to my surprise it got rid of all my buildup on my oily hair. I probably wouldn't use it daily since I can see that it really does clarify really well. This is an awesome product. It smells really good and works really well. Price wasn't all that great. I paid around $9 for the bottle. I didn't purchase the conditioner though so I dont know how it would be paired together.
