Blush -Korres - Zea Mayes blush-44 Orange
rated 5 of 5

I purchased this blush from Myer in Melbourne after the fantastic experience I've had with the Zea Mayes blush in Natural. Although it looks a little frightning in the pan for a conservative makeup user like me, once applied it is beautiful. Buildable and natural without too much shimmer; I will definitely purchase this blush again!

Blush -Korres - Zea Mays Powder Blush in Natural

I bought this blush after reading a glowing review by Christine of Temptalia (she awarded it an A rating). I've previously only bought blush in pink hues however, after having this applied by a SA in Myer Melbourne, I was converted. The shade is not dissimilar to most bronzers, however it only has a slight shimmer and does not leave you with the 'dirty face' treatment. Application is smooth and can be built up easily without the worry of looking like an oompa loompa. The packaging is also wonderful.

Concealers -Garnier - Anti-Dark-Circle Eye Roller

I decided to purchase this product after reading all the fantastic reviews here on MakeupAlley. Considering it's comparatively low price, I wasn't expecting miracles and to be completely honest, after using this product, I wouldn't say it was a stand out amongst other under-eye concealers. Having said that, there are several things that will keep me reaching for this product. Not only is it extremely affordable, but it is widely available, incredibly quick and easy to apply, and can easily fit into a purse or makeup bag for on-the-go touch ups. The coverage is sheer but works alone or under make up and more importantly, is virtually foolproof when it comes to application.

Treatments -Clearasil - Clearasil Ultra
rated 5 of 5

This review is for the Acne Treatment Cream This product has saved my skin! Although it's recommended that you use this as a spot treatment only, I use this over my entire face (avoiding the lip and eye area) following the suggestion Dan Kern makes on acne.org. Although 5% it quite a strong concentration of Benzoyl Peroxide, I simply couldn't find anything else at my local supermarket. For the first week my skin didn't show any vast improvements, and in the second week my skin was horribly dry and itchy, however my pimples were completely gone (except for tiny red marks left behind)! Not only that but my blackheads were also clearing and with the aid of some moisturiser with jojoba oil added, the dryness was easily counteracted (I find that Vitamin E oil works great for the particularly dry, flaky areas). I'm now entering the third week of using this cream and as the almighty Dan Kern states, my skin has already begun to acclimatise to the BP and the dryness appears to be diminishing significantly. Don't turn your back on this product just yet!

Masks -LUSH - Mask of Magnaminty
rated 5 of 5
isobel00 3/13/2011 2:09:00 PM

After realising that I couldn't buy the Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask in Australia without paying an exorbitant amount on shipping, I decided to try the (seemingly) next best thing. The price for the MoM was $15.95 which to me, was not unreasonable considering the amount I've paid for other (disappointing) high-end face masks. The mask was thick but applied smoothly. The smell wasn't amazing yet not altogether unpleasant. The sensation was unnerving at first; I can only describe it as a 'cold burn' and I wanted to wash it off within the first five minutes of having put it on. I didn't and soon got used to the feeling. It is recommended to wash the mask off with water in slow circular movements however, after the fourth time of having worn this mask, I've realised that it works far better when simply peeled off with dry hands! Of course, to do this you have to leave it on for a little while longer (until it is completely dry) but it's definitely worth the wait since it works exactly like a pore strip. It lifted out a large number of my unsightly blackheads especially on my cheeks and around my nose, completely dried out white heads that were forming and ex-foliated off any dead skin. It doesn't get any better than this!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Mulch eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5
isobel00 3/6/2011 1:25:00 AM

The name 'Mulch' leaves a lot to be desired, which is a shame as this eyeshadow is incredible. I use this most days in my crease to create some subtle shading and also when I'm going out to create a gorgeous smoky eye. Suits my NC20 complexion and hazel eyes perfectly.

I absolutely love Woodwinked. I wear this eyeshadow almost every day, sometimes paired/blended with Mulch. Great for a neutral look during the day or, when foiled, just as lovely for a smoky & sultry evening look. Suits my NC20 complexion and hazel eyes perfectly.

Eyeliner -Revlon - ColorStay Liquid Liner
rated 5 of 5
isobel00 2/11/2011 9:25:00 PM

I bought this on a whim, honestly not expecting much. After a couple of uses I was astounded at the quality of the lines I was achieving. As I was nearing the end of the product I decided to by MAC's liquid eyeliner assuming that it would be far superior. Alas, it wasn't (the lines were watery and imprecise in comparison & the colour less pigmented) and I will never again stay from my Revlon Colorstay liquid eyeliner.

Blush -Clinique - Blushing Blush Powder Blush - Precious Posy
rated 5 of 5
isobel00 1/19/2011 9:51:00 AM

This was my first 'high-end' make up product I ever purchased, way back when I was 17 (almost 3 years ago!) and I still haven't even managed to make a noticable dent in this blush despite using it just about every day. My skin varies between NC15 in winter and around NC25 in winter and this shade is flattering in all circumstances. I've been given various other samples from Clinique and other high end brands but I always go back to this. There's really nothing bad I can say about this blush - even the price is perfect considering how long it's lasted!

Skincare - Face -MAC - Fix+
rated 4 of 5
isobel00 1/5/2011 1:46:00 AM

I bought this after seeing a lot of endorsements on youtube. I sprayed this on over my setting powder and it did make the powder look a little more natural but honestly, I couldn't see a big difference to spraying this and water. Then one day I accidentally over-applied my foundation leaving it looking very ugly and mask-like. I didn't have time to re-apply so I decided to spray Fix+ onto my EcoTools bronzer brush and used the stippling technique on my face, and voila, my make up looked natural and dewey! Having said that, I probably wouldn't buy this again as it really is just a little too expensive for something I now rarely use. EDIT: I now spray this on my EcoTools bronzer brush before applying my foundation which creates the most wonderful natural look. I can't live without this now!

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo Bronzer Brush
rated 4 of 5
isobel00 12/30/2010 7:50:00 PM

Great brush which I use for my liquid foundation. Works great for stippling and takes far less time to use that my stippling brush. It also doesn't shed and feels exceptionally soft against my skin. The only issue I had was with the packaging which seemed excessive for a product that prides itself on being eco-friendly. EDIT 28/02/2011 The fibers ripped straight out of the handle when I was washing it. Will purchase another one due to the fact I occasionally left it upright when drying however will subtract one lippy because I've never had any other make up brush do that.

Lip Treatments -Carmex - LipBalm
rated 5 of 5
isobel00 12/30/2010 7:46:00 PM

Bought this after using Blistex which made my lips itchy and sore. Was a bit worried about the burning sensation it caused, but after a few uses it subsided to a slight tingle. This is the best product I've ever used for my lips. Heals cracks and cold sores within hours and also works when I get a tiny bit of dermatitis around my lips. Stopped using it for a while because the packaging was frustrating but now realise that nothing works quite as well.
