Cleansers -DHC - Make Off Sheet

Sensitive/Combination/Mild Rosacea--> I love the convenience of these wipes but they just didn't work out for me. I found them to be average at removing makeup but they also irritated my skin. I love the plastic "baby wipe" style container for ease of use but the product fell short for me. Good at removing face makeup but below average on removing eye makeup; in my opinion.

Eyeliner -Clinique - Brush-On Cream Liner in Black Honey
rated 5 of 5
irishgirl71 11/6/2005 7:37:00 AM

NC20, Green-Hazel Eyes--> Beautiful liner! Black Honey looks Mahogany in color mixed with golden shimmer. The shimmer is subtle but adds dimension to what appears to be just a brownish-wine eyeliner. Staying power is very good but not as tough as MAC Fluidlines. I really like the complexity of this color and hope that Clinique adds cream liners to their line. The packaging definitely looks just like Bobbi Brown's liners..However, this is cheaper in price! Application was smooth as well. I would toss the brush that comes with it and use your own liner brush as previously mentioned. The brush was useless to me but the liner rocks! Big Thumbs Up on this product!

Treatments (Eye) -Korres - Eye Bright Firming Eye Cream
rated 4 of 5
irishgirl71 10/30/2005 8:33:00 AM

Combo-Sensitive, Mild Rosacea Skin--> I found this eye cream to be rather average. It does brighten up the undereye skin slightly and there is a mild firming effect when applied. However, I didn't find it very moisturizing for my over 30 eyes. If you tend to by dry underneath your eyes, you may need additional moisture on top of this eye cream. I really like the squeeze tube and you get twice as much eye cream. Most eye creams are .05 ounces whereas this one is a full ounce. Good Value! No problems with irritation and it did apply smoothly. I just need more moisture than this eye cream provides.

Self Tanners -Jergens - Natural Glow - Light
rated 4 of 5
irishgirl71 7/6/2005 7:49:00 AM

NC20, LLL, Sensitive Skin---> I have to admit that I usually stay away from self-tanners because I am so fair-skinned that they end up looking orange on me..Not to mention, I find self-tanning to be a bit time consuming..Nevertheless, I decided to buy a bottle of this due to the reviews here and give self-tanning one more try..I am glad I did! What a pleasant surprise this turned out to be. After using this for almost a week, I have a believable glow to my skin..A light, golden-brown tan that looks natural. "Glow" is a pretty decent description of what you are going to achieve with this product..If you are looking for a deep, dark, tan this might not be the product for you..I wanted to look natural with a hint of color and this product did just that for me. I like the fact that it takes awhile to develop because you can control the intensity of your "tan." It's cost-effective but a real pain to try to find..You might want to grab a couple of bottles if you decide to try it in case you do find you like it. I exfoliate every few days and apply regular lotion to my elbows, knees, & feet before I apply the Jergens so I don't end up with blotches. So far, so good even when I apply it to my face. I do get faint hints of self-tanner smell but it's nothing offensive and the scent doesn't last. This may end up being my Holy Grail of self-tanners..Thumbs up on this one!

Eye Makeup Remover -Rimmel - Gentle Eye Make Up Remover
rated 2 of 5
irishgirl71 7/3/2005 7:36:00 AM

Mild Rosacea, Sensitive, Combination Skin----> I decided to try this eye makeup remover as it was on clearance at the local Walmart. I only spent 2 bucks on the product but I wouldn't buy it again for 1 buck. The biggest issue I had with it is that it stung my eyes really bad. I admit it did remove my mascara but the eye irritation wasn't worth it for me. If you have really sensitive skin or "allergy eyes" I would skip this remover entirely. I will continue to buy Loreal's or Almay from now on; just too irritating for me.

Masks -St. Ives - Mineral Clay Firming Masque
rated 4 of 5
irishgirl71 7/2/2005 9:06:00 AM

Sensitive, Mild Rosacea, Combination Skin---> I picked up this mask at the local Walmart for a little pick-me up. The ingredients looked like a basic clay/mineral mask to me and the price can't be beat. What a nice surprise this mask turned out to be! It comes in a convenient stand-up squeeze tube and the texture is very smooth/easily blendable. I let it sit on my skin for about 5 minutes and it rinsed off pretty easily. I didn't find it irritating and my skin felt noticeably smoother. It's a very basic clay mask but not overly drying..Cheap, basic, and a nice way to pamper your face once in a while..Skip the expensive Astara mud masks and go with this one! This is "good stuff" for the price! Thumbs up!

Cleansers -Basis - Basis Cleaner Clean Face Wash
rated 3 of 5
irishgirl71 7/2/2005 8:57:00 AM

Mild Rosacea, Combination, Sensitive Skin---> I took a chance on buying this face wash based upon some of the reviews here..What the heck? It was only 3.99 at Walmart so no big loss right? I wasn't impressed with this face wash at all..Too fragranced, stung my eyes, and didn't thoroughly clean my face at all. After rinsing, I used a mild toner and there was residue (makeup) still left on the cotton pad. This cleanser also left an uncomfortable film on my skin and left it feeling somewhat tight. I normally use Olay's Gentle Skin cleanser which many say leaves a film but it still leaves a moisturizing, soft "film" as oppossed to Basis' cleanser. I wouldn't recommend it for skin that's on the drier side; this one seems best suited for Normal/Oily skin. It just wasn't the best choice for my sensitive/dry skin so I won't be purchasing it again.

Bronzers -The Body Shop - Shimmer Waves in Bronze
rated 5 of 5
irishgirl71 6/19/2005 9:16:00 AM

NC20, LLL, Mild Rosacea-Combo Skin---> I bought the pink & bronze Shimmerwaves from The Body Shop last summer and totally forgot to review them. So here it goes..TBS's Shimmerwaves are definitely a knock-off of Bobbi Brown's Shimmerbricks..However, this is a case where the knock-off is actually better than the original; in my opinion. The differences are instead of stripes with the BB, you have waves of color in a clear/lucite compact. In addition, the texture/softness of the Shimmerwaves beats the somewhat gritty/glittery texture of Bobbi Brown's Shimmerbrick. The Bronze Shimmerwaves consist of shades of gold, copper, bronze-brown, and a rose-gold. Very soft to the touch and leaves a glowy-sheen as oppossed to obvious shimmer. Not to mention, it's almost half the price of Bobbi Brown's Shimmerbrick. Fun to use the individual waves for eyeshadow individual which I do the most with this. The Shimmerwaves are the best makeup product I have purchased from The Body Shop's makeup line. Definite must-try!

Eye Shadow -Alexis Vogel - Dare
rated 5 of 5
irishgirl71 6/5/2005 7:21:00 AM

NC20, LLL, Green-Hazel Eyes---> I got this eyeshadow as part of the AV kit and I am pretty impressed. Dare is an icy taupe with almost lavendar undertones. Very similiar to Shu's ME 945 or Chanel's Vega. The texture of this shadow is like powdered sugar; divine! Pigmentation is dense and easily blendable. If Dare is any indication of the quality of the other shadows in AV's line; then I would buy them all. After all of the lines I have tried, I can honestly say that this eyeshadow is one of the softest in textures/pigmentation that I own. A must-have neutral shadow; in my opinion!

Cleansers -St. Ives - Make-up Remover & Facial Cleanser with soothing chamomile
rated 4 of 5
irishgirl71 5/31/2005 5:02:00 PM

Mild Rosacea, Sensitive-Combination-Dry Skin--> This cream cleanser is one of my newest & favorite drugstore finds. This cleanser is like a traditional cold cream (think Pond's) but in a squeeze tube..I found it to be very easy to spread on my face and it removed my make-up with ease! I let it sit on for about a minute, dampen a cotton square, work the product all over my face, and rinse! No greasy residue and my skin feels hydrated. There are various degrees of Rosacea so this product may not work for all but does for me. The scent is pleasant and almost reminds me of lemon meringue. Creamy, rich, and smooth but cheap/effective! Thumbs up!

Moisturizers -Eucerin - Redness Relief Perfecting Lotion with spf 15
rated 4 of 5
irishgirl71 5/10/2005 7:16:00 AM

Sensitive, Mild-Rosacea, Combo Skin--> I am pretty impressed with this product so far! I have very pinky-toned skin from having Rosacea so I am always looking for products that can multi-task while toning down the redness. Eucerin's Perfection Lotion manages to accomplish this for me without leaving my skin dry or too green. The texture of this lotion is somewhat on the thin side and the green pigment is very light..Not overpowering at all! My only gripe is that it has a tendency to pool up into your pores if you aren't careful. While the rest of my face looked flawless, the pores around the nose/cheek area looked more obvious. I was able to correct this by dampening a latex sponge after application and lightly patting the residue around my pores. I didn't have any problems with irritation either..Then again, Rosacea is not a "one-size-fits-all" skin condition either..It's trial and error! For $14.99, I feel it's reasonably priced as you get a neutralizer, sunscreen, and moisturizer all-in-one. I would repurchase this again as I have been satisfied with the results thus far!

Eye Shadow -NYX - 3 Color Eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5
irishgirl71 5/1/2005 9:39:00 AM

I have to jump on the NYX bandwagon here as I have purchased quite a few of the trios. The pigment and texture of these shadows is superior in relation to the affordable price. The shades of these shadows are some of the best MAC knockoffs I have seen for a fraction of the cost. The trios I have purchased have shades very similiar to MAC's Coppering, Parfait Amour, Riviera Rose, Digit, Juxt, etc. I will review individual shades as well. Nevertheless, NYX's eyeshadows get a huge rave from me! I am not crazy about the sponge-tip applicator but that's a minor gripe compared to the product quality. If you want MAC quality shadows for a discount price; then NYX shadows are the way to go! Thumbs UP!

Mascara -Alexis Vogel - Alexis Vogel double mascara
rated 4 of 5
irishgirl71 5/1/2005 9:30:00 AM

NC20, LLL, Hazel-Green Eyes, Mild Rosacea---> I got this mascara/lash primer as part of the Alexis Vogel kit. The formula of both products is on the "wet/glossy" side and not thick & goopy. The overall finish is a lengthening/defining effect as oppossed to thickness/volume. Both products dry to a soft/bendable finish instead of dry/flakey one. I had no problems with flaking or irritation with either products. Using a lash curler after applying the primer intensified the length of my lashes so I recommend using a curler if you have one. For women who prefer a defined, long, soft lash look; this is a good product! I prefer a full-volumizing look as my lashes are already long. However, the primer is soft & non-clumpy so I will consider purchasing this separately.

Foundations -Alexis Vogel - Creme Foundation-Bisque
rated 5 of 5
irishgirl71 5/1/2005 9:12:00 AM

NC20, LLL, Sensitive-Combo-Mild Rosacea---> I have been using this foundation for 3 weeks now so felt it was time to go ahead and review this. I am currently using the lightest shade, Bisque which is one of the newer shades in this line. I am usually afraid of creme-to-powder foundations because either they are too greasy or dry on me. Not to mention, my skin condition (rosacea) is unpredictable. I purchased the Bisque shade separately from the foundation trio already included in the AV kit because I liked it so much. It covers well and blends well! I dot one area of my face at a time and blend with a damp sponge..The slightly damp sponge helps the product move around better which makes blending easier. I set the foundation with the AV powder puff using the roll/pat method and my skin looks awesome! I can control how much or little coverage I need without worrying about a "cake face." Quality/Pigmentation is up there with Ben Nye, Cinema Secrets, Joe Blasco Professional cosmetics. I can honestly say that Alexis Vogel and Kevyn's Aucoin's Dew Drop foundations are the only 2 creme-to-powders I have liked thus far. After carefully experimenting, I have found the above-mentioned techniques to give me the best finish possible without looking overdone..Definite thumbs up from me!

Eye Shadow -NYX - Baby Pink
rated 4 of 5
irishgirl71 4/27/2005 7:20:00 AM

NC20, Green-Hazel Eyes, LLL--> I agree with the previous reviews that Baby Pink is not the shade the name suggests. Baby Pink is very similar to MAC's Digit eyeshadow. Baby Pink applies as a sheer lavendar with pink undertones. This shade is low on the shimmer and almost matte. It's a subdued shade that could be useful for those who would like to try purples without a lot of shimmer. Baby Pink is also part of the NYX Trio #5 which includes Cotton Candy & Spring Flower as well. It's not my most favorite shade so I probably wouldn't purchase it as a single on its own. It's not that it isn't pretty, I just prefer more shimmer!
