Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Likas Papaya Soap
iqaganda 3/2/2012 10:31:00 AM
This is my all time favorite never failed face washing soap ever since college days. I would never trade this up for another more expensive and higher end brand since it keeps my face oil-free and at the same time moisturized. I love it!

Mascara -Estee Lauder - Projectionist High Definition Volume Mascara
iqaganda 2/26/2012 9:55:00 AM
Brush: The brush is a medium sized brush in a cone shape with densely packed bristles. For my opinion, the brush itself is quite hard to get a hold of, making my application of this mascara the messiest of all the mascaras I've ever encountered in the past. Formula: The formula is a so-so for me. It claimed that it gives you volume where as in fact, yes, it gives volume but I find this formula gives me more length than volume. The worst thing about this mascara for me is that the formula is too wet for me and it takes time for me to let it dry making my already messy application an even messier application. Also, I love the jet-black color since it gives my eye an even sharper edge. Packaging and Price: The price is quite fine for my opinion as Estee Lauder is one of the high end brand. It's quite reasonable. About the packaging, I love that unique packaging. Will I buy this again? Straight answer, no. I can find a better mascara in a cheaper price than sticking up for this.

Mascara -Estee Lauder - Sumptuous Waterproof
iqaganda 2/22/2012
Okay, I must say, this is your average volumizing mascara. But not great though. I am currently using Estee Lauder's Sumptuous Waterproof and I must say, I love the original (non-waterproof) version more than the waterproof. Why? Well, one thing that makes me say, "Oh! I don't like this!" is that it flakes like hell. Oh yes, even from the very moment you put it, let it dry and set, it flakes! Your liquidy like mascara turns into dry black flakes that scatters around your eye area and for my case, it went inside my eye and I had troubles taking it out. Good thing I was not in the hurry. I am obviously not in love with this mascara and will NEVER re-purchase this again.

Mascara -Estee Lauder - Sumptuous Extreme
iqaganda 2/18/2012 2:38:00 AM
This was supposed to be a PERFECT mascara for me if it wasn't for two things. First off, I love how big difference you can see with this mascara in just one coat! By the way, I always, always, ALWAYS use mascara primer ever since so you better take note of that. I love the packaging, the gold blingy packaging is awesome, the brush might be a little bit big but I love the way it goes from a very big brush end going to a thin tip. In that way, it goes all the way to the very tip of my lashes and I can cover with mascara those hard to reach areas of my eye lashes. What puts me off? The way it scares the hell out of me whenever I put the second coating. I have long lashes and whenever I put more than one coating of this, it has a slight tendency of clumping, looking heavy and a slight tendency of sticking together. Secondly, I believe Sumptuous Extreme is only available in USA or western countries. Not definitely in Hong Kong which is a real boo hoo for me. I tend to pass on a product even though how good the product is since I don't want to get a whole lot of trouble of getting it just because it is good. I believe in getting other alternative brands which are available locally. So I guess, Sumptuous Extreme is a PASS for me since it's not available locally, unfortunately. :(

Mascara -Lancome - Virtuose - Black Carat
iqaganda 1/31/2012 11:15:00 PM
I don't know why this mascara from Lancome gets very low reviews from the consumers. I love this mascara! The only thing that is a "con" for me with this is that the formula is too dry. Too dry that I am afraid of getting it dried up before I get to finish the whole tube itself. First off, the wand. I love the wand. The fact that it is curved in a U-shape makes life easier for me to apply the mascara. It helps me to curl up my lashes even on my bottom lash. The formula not only gives me length but as well as volume, but not as dramatic as the Hypnose Drama though, because of its dry formula. This is my first tube by the way. If my fear doesn't turn into reality, then, I might consider repurchasing this and restocking, because it is not available at Lancome counters in Hong Kong. I have to find ways of purchasing it online. By the way, what difference does this make from the original Virtuose mascara?

Mascara -Lancome - Hypnose Drama
iqaganda 1/27/2012 1:13:00 AM
I love the formula because it is true to its word that it gives you huge volume, but the wand sucks. It is so big, the "S" shape makes it even harder to control and it smudges everywhere while applying.

Lip Gloss -Clinique - Superbalm Moisturizing Glosses
iqaganda 1/12/2012 6:06:00 AM
First of all, I would say that I never knew that mine was grapefruit flavored before I checked out MUA. I got this as a free tester from my latest Clinique purchase. My comment about this, I don't like it! It is very sticky, stickier than a lip gloss (which I actually hate.. that's why I don't use lip gloss) and it doesn't leave my lips moisturized after using it.

Mascara -Canmake - Quick Lash Curler
iqaganda 1/10/2012 10:01:00 PM
In Canmake's website, they describe Quick Lash Curler as a booster for lashes that have started to lose their curl during the day to revive the curl and keep your eyes looking big and bright. I don't really agree with this. I tried using this curler in the middle of the day and it actually ruined my mascara. It made my mascara smudge and lump together. Ugh. What a pain. It also claims in their website that you can use it alone as a clear mascara but then, when I tried applying it alone, I can see that it's not actually that clear. You can see a little bit of white on it, although not like the usual primers do. The only thing that I like about this product is the comb itself. It is very easy to control to make your lashes follow each and every stroke you make. I will definitely NOT re-purchase this again. SRP: HKD 65

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot - All
iqaganda 1/8/2012 8:56:00 AM
Paint pots are for lazy people just like me, especially when you are rushing to get out of the house early in the morning everyday. According to MAC's website, PAINT POTS are highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish. They are long-wearing and colourfast. They create seamless coverage without weightor caking. They blend smoothly over the lids and they can be mixed with eyeshadows and eyeliners. For me, I use paint pots as my eyeshadow base / eyelid primer. They don't crease over time unlike other eyelid primers that I tried. They dry fast so you don't need to wait for it to dry especially when you are in a rush in the morning. I like the fact that these paint pots that I got are shimmery because it goes on well without eyeshadows at all and very light wearing and long wearing as well.

Bronzers -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish
iqaganda 1/8/2012 8:55:00 AM
At one point of in life, I got curious and addicted with powders (blushes and face powders) that I bought these MSFs. Out of curiosity, I purchased Redhead (which I already finished), Pink Porcelain and Blonde MSFs. I kept on researching online on how to use it and yes, you can use these MSFs as a blush, a highlighter nor a face powder. It depends on how you want to use it. At first, I tried using these MSFs as a powder blush but since the color is too light for me, it doesn't really show on my skin. Then, I tried it as a highlighter. It was horrible! It made my skin imperfections even visible with just a light application! Now, I am using my MSFs as a face powder and it's so-so okay for my skin. I am just emptying the pan of these so that I won't feel guilty of purchasing it. I will not repurchase ANY MSFs anymore in the future.

Lipstick -MAC - Venomous Villains Sinister
iqaganda 10/3/2010 10:46:00 AM
Sinister is purplish and very sheer on me. I think I need to swipe around 3-4 times for the Sinister before I can get the buildable coverage that I wanted for my lips. I haven't tried Innocence, Beware yet, but for Sinister, it can take around 2-3 hours max before it melts to your lips.

Bronzers -H & M - Bronzing Brush Summer Bronzing
iqaganda 8/5/2010 5:59:00 AM
This is the crappiest, useless bronzer I've ever encountered. I got this on sale from H&M last winter season. Since I got two pieces of bronzers at that time, I decided to use the other one first, and this one later on. And so, I used up my favorite bronzer already and now, it's time to give this one a try and my first reaction the first time I swiped this onto my face?! How come I can't see any changes?! Maybe I should put more on... How come I can only see glitters?! Damn! Well, first, the brush sucks. It's a very hard type of brush, I don't even know where H&M got these materials from. It irritates my skin and it's very hard to make the powder even to my skin. Second, this is more of a highlighter in "bronze" than a "bronzing powder." All I can see is glitters and no brownish reaction to my face whenever I put them on. I'm very much disappointed with this product that this will go straight to the bin! OUCH!

Blush -NYX - Mosaic Powder in Rosey
iqaganda 7/11/2010 9:40:00 AM
I love these Mosaic Powders from NYX. I got this for a very cheap price (for a beauty powder) from Cherry Culture. I think it only costs around USD 6.50 less 20% discount. I purchased it while they were having this summer sale where all products are 20% off. In case you guys didn't know, I'm from Hong Kong and yes, Cherry Culture ships internationally for a reasonable price. I used this as a blush for my very first usage and I love it! I love how even and how it suits my skin color. Also, this powder can be used as a highlighter (I think), but for my opinion, I would use this as a powder blush. I am a powder blush girl since I have a combination skin. At times, my skin can be very oily and so, cream blushes are not suitable for me. It stays on my face just like my MAC powder blush. I just noticed that it's a little bit more powdery (which doesn't really bother me) compared to my MAC blushes. I'm definitely going to get more of these on Cherry Culture's next sale! :)

Cleansers -Shu Uemura - High Performance Skin Purifier Cleansing Oil
iqaganda 6/25/2010 9:58:00 AM
I've been using this face wash for a week now. My friend who came here for a vacation from Singapore was the one who gave me this face wash from Shu Uemura. In fact, this is my first Shu Uemura stuff. I'm not really "awed" with Shu Uemura because I find Shu Uemura's packaging, "cheap." To think that it's very expensive, their products usually comes in a clear packaging which is very similar to a lower class brand named Red Earth. Anyway, my friend said that she got it as a freebie from the saloon that she's working with at the moment. To start off with my review, I got the one in dark orange to be precise. I found a new self realization from using this face wash. I found out that I'm not a big fan of any face wash that is not "bubbly." I am used to using anything that once you put onto your palms, it bubbles, but this one is not. It's very hard for me to spread all over my face because I've been wanting bubbles from now and then. As a result, I always use up more than the usual amount that I use with my normal face wash. It is "ok" I guess, nothing quite special with this face wash, and also nothing bad. It didn't give me any break-outs which is a good thing, but it didn't make any good sense either. It is quite disappointing because I heard a lot of good stuff about Shu Uemura, and since this was my very first product, I was expecting more from it.
