Tinted Moisturizer -Bobbi Brown - Extra Spf 25 Tinted Moisturizing Balm
imkt 12/30/2012 6:01:00 PM
This is the first makeup I have bought in years! My skin is normal to dry, but it can get very dry depending on my environment. I have very clear skin as well, so I usually wear nothing but mascara most days. Since I have refrained from splurging for so long, I decided that now was the time to get one nice base to use when needed. I had always wanted to try this but was put off by the price tag. Anyhow, I decided to try it out and put this on half my face and shopped for a few hours. I loved it and bought it. I am light olive-skinned and bought this in light-medium. Wonderful product in my opinion. The coverage is very light and dewy, and I love the dependable built-in spf.

Hair Color -Revlon - Colorsilk
imkt 9/27/2010 11:31:00 AM
Best home hair colouring experience I have had. It has been a couple years sinces I have done anything to my hair due to pregnancy and now a very busy little one. Tried at-home highlights about a month ago and that didn't go well. I tried to fix it by using a pricey 10-minute colour in a neutral dark blond ( my hair is a neutral dark blonde- light brown depending on the season). I didn't like the results - too golden with a lot of copper undertones. Got this in medium brown. Beautiful colour! My hair looks great - very soft and shiny. This was, as most have stated, one of the cheapest kits out there but certainly one of the best.

Tinted Moisturizer -Dr. Hauschka - Toned Day Cream
imkt 9/19/2009 8:11:00 AM
What possessed me to buy this, I do not know. I had always wanted to dabble a little in this line. My skin is normal (NC 30/35) and I haven't really much to cover. I have become far more aware of what I have been putting in and on my body due to pregnancy. Well, this cream is great. It seems very heavy at first, but give it a couple of minutes and it will meld right into your skin leaving it moist and radiant. Actually, a lot of products I had used in the past which have included different types of silicones and chemicals in their ingredient lists made me look shinier at the end of the day, perhaps due to the fact that they more or less sit on the skin or cover the skin. This is a cream, though - remember this. If you have oily skin and rarely use a rich cream, this may not be your cup of tea. Overall, this gives the ultimate natural radiant look - more so than any other TM I have tried. It doesn't really cover, but it soothes and enlightens the look of your skin- and it smells lovely!

Cleansers -Clinique - Liquid Facial Soap - Mild
imkt 7/19/2009 10:47:00 AM
Tried it before and wasn't impressed. Tried it again and now will continue to use as my staple cleanser. I have normal skin that can get a little dry from time to time. I use the cleansing balm in the shower to remove sunscreen/mascara (don't really wear a lot of make up). This I use morning and night, and I have had ZERO problems with it. It is a simple cleanser with excellent packaging. I wouldn't call it cheap, but it isn't burning a hole in my pocket. It cleans my face with absolutely no stinging of the eyes - and I have sensitive eyes. It looks good, feels, good, and does what it says it will do, period.

Hair -Moroccanoil - Moroccan Oil

Aside from the price tag, this product is great. My hair has been Japanese straightened and is very fine. This, used right after the shower, makes my hair look its best. It actually looks thicker, but I think this is due to the fact that for the first time in years, I am using a product that smoothes but doesn't weigh my hair down.

Fragrances -Clinique - Aromatics Elixir

I have worn this now and again over a span of about 12 years and 3 boyfriends - and each one of them could not get ENOUGH of this scent when I wore it. They all LOVED it! Fragrances are tricky because there is so much body chemistry involved, but for me this will always have a place on my shelf.

Toners -Environ - Alpha Hydroxy Toner Forte
imkt 5/2/2008 5:54:00 AM
I have been using quality AHAs for years in my night lotion - in fact I won't buy a night treatment without an AHA in it. They have kept my skin pristine, clear, and firm, and I terrified to go without! Several month ago I added a glycolic toner to my routine, and I'm happy to say that today I walk out of my house with nohing more than mascara and lip balm (and of course sunscreen) - no need for even my wonderful tinted moisturizer collection or concealer!!! Upon moving to southern Africa, I realized that these wonderful AHA products were very hard to come by. However, I went to a lovely small salon and I saw this line. The ingredients were there, so I decided to give this toner a try, as I was on my absolute last drop of DDF's 10% Glycolic Toner without a replacment at hand. I LOVE it - dare I say even more than Neostrata's and DDF's versions, which I adore. This product has no alcohol in it - it is COMPLETELY fragrance and colour free. I have been using it for the past week - and my skin looks and feels better then ever. If you haven't heard of this line, or if you can't get it wherever you are, it is readily available online for U.S. and Canadian consumers. I plan to stockpile this stuff!!!

Foundations -Giorgio Armani - Face Fabric Second Skin Nude Makeup
imkt 4/3/2008 9:16:00 PM
Went on a search to find a powder refill, and ended up with this new and intriguing product. I think this is very much like Perfekt Skin's foundation, but I must admit, the packaging of Armani's is far more user friendly. This definitely exceeded my expectations. My skin looks absolutely flawlwss - yet TOTALLY unmade-up. It is a silicone-based product, so it will smooth every little imperfection out (unless you are trying to hide blemishes). This is a foundation for people who love TMs, and who have clear skin and really want to get a refined polished look without adding loads of moisture. I am an NC 35 and use the number 4 (not as yellow as the #3). Really, it makes my skin look so chic and yet even up close you would NEVER know I was wearing makeup. Great product. I would love to try Perfekt's someday, but for now this is a winner.

Lip Treatments -Badger - Chai Rose Lip and Body Balm
imkt 4/2/2008 9:30:00 PM
LOVE this. This is truly a lip 'moisturizer'. As other reviewers have commented, this doesn't just act like a gloss or some kind of barrier, it really adds moisture to your lips. I use a lip balm EVERY night before I go to sleep, and this has replaced them all. It is truly wonderful.

Tinted Moisturizer -Prescriptives - Custom Blend
imkt 3/15/2008 10:24:00 AM
Wow...this is really all I can say. Is it pricy? Yes. Is it worth the cost? That and more! I went to the Prescriptives counter to match my beautiful Dior lipstick using their custom blend service (it was perfect), and I just couldn't help myself when I discovered this new service (as opposed to simply the CB foundation). I am a TM junkie, so this was a must. My SA Aiysh did an extrordinary job at matching me exactly. The texture itself can be altered depending on your skin and you tastes. I have very normal skin, so she added a brightening and clarifying complex. I just looks and feels so good. This is by far the best thing I have ever used on my face. UPDATE: Took one lippie off. I still love it and think it is a dead on match, but like many TMs I have encountered, it still adds a lot of moisture that my clear normal skin doesn't always need.

Toners -DDF - Glycolic Toner 10%
imkt 3/13/2008 9:03:00 PM
I have been using AHA products for years, 95% of them as night creams or lotions. I have been using DDF's 10% Glycolic Moisturizer for about 8 months now, and it has truly become a HG for me. I have very clear normal skin and I find that the 10% treatment provides me with very smooth, even-toned, and moist skin. However, I ran into a period of heavy stress and all of a sudden I started to get little red bumps on my chin and on my nose...This was not good! I knew that Neostrata made a 'toning solution', and since I wanted to up the ante in regards to clarifying my skin, I picked it up. It was very good - I really haven't many complaints about it; it was expensive though, considering the 100ml size. I guess in the back of my mind I remembered that DDF made such a thing too, and since I had had such great luck with the lotion, I decided to check it out at Sephora. First of all, you get double the amount of the Neostrata version for slightly less. Second, although both the DDF and NS contain alcohol (I try to stay away from it), DDF does throw in a few soothing ingredients too. I didn't think it would make much of a difference, but after the first night, my skin was SO soft. It's been about a week now, and my face looks exactly how it did a month ago before the stress breakout. My skin looks great - very healthy and soft. Now, I must admit that the rest of my skin care is quite gentle, I always moisturize after cleansing, and I always wear an broad-spectrum SPF. I will stick with DDF over NS. Highly recommended for glowing skin -if you can tolerate the AHA.

Foundations -Prescriptives - Anywear Multipurpose Make Up Stick
imkt 3/7/2008 8:14:00 PM
Ahh...I had the original stick foundation from Px, and was so sad when they took it off the market. in fact, this was the first stick foundation I had used. I have been using Laura Mercier's stick foundation in sunlit for quite some time, but when I saw this as I passed the Px counter, I had to stop and try it out. It is great. And I do love the packaging, as I travel quite a bit. I must agree with the reviewer who noticed the dramatic price difference here in Canada. This holds true with many of the dept. store brands, and it drives me crazy...Nevertheless, this is a great stick foundation...I do not use it to cover my whole face, though. I simply use my fingers to blend it into needed areas, as my skin is pretty clear and normal. the colour for me is just so dead-on. i'm currently about an NC 35 and use this in beige.

Powder -Laura Mercier - Mineral Powder SPF 15
imkt 1/10/2008 5:24:00 PM
I used to be a foundation/TM junkie...that's until my skin seemed to 'normalize', and I found I didn't need a lot of coverage or moisture. I have been using LM Stick foundation in Sunlit for the past few months (religiously, might I add - but applied only to specific areas that need a little help), and on my last trip to the LM counter, I found myself very intriguied by the concept of this product. I had bought BE mineral powder a while ago, used it one time, and immediately took it back, as I found it was heavy, shiny, well, just ghastly! Anyhow, the SA tried a little on me (Rich Vanilla - NC 30/35), and I fell in love. This is my 'I'm making an effort' go-to. It looks very natural, but really polishes me off. I still use my stick foundation in the day, but this will definitely do the job when I need a little extra something! UPDATE: Sorry, but I had to lower my rating. I still find that most of these mineral powder foundations are clumsy and messy. I also found this to be off in colour. Too bad as the texture was great.

Treatments -Neostrata - Skin Brightener (20% Vit. C)
imkt 12/29/2007 9:09:00 PM
I have been using this for about 6 weeks now, and I am impressed. The little 'freckles' on my nose have practically disappeared. I apply this after cleansing while my face is still slightly damp. Now, this shouldn't be 'rubbed' into the skin, but rather gently smoothed over the face and neck. It may tingle slightly on sensitive areas. I will continue to use this as my daytime treatment (aha at night).
