Polishes -Essie - Raisinnuts

This is an easy to wear rich ruby shade tinged with a hint of brown. I think it would flatter pale to medium skin tones. It is a great sophisticated transitional color from winter to spring.

Conditioner -TiGi - Love, Peace & the Planet Let It Be leave in conditioner
rated 4 of 5

This leave in conditioner smells faintly like almond sugar cookies. It has the consistency of a light lotion and a little bit goes a long way. It sinks in pretty well & left my just colored hair very smooth & silky. This is the first leave in conditioner I've used & I'm rather pleased w/ the result.

Shampoo -TiGi - Love, Peace & the Planet Eco Awesome Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
imaladybug 6/18/2009 7:33:00 PM

My hair is color treated & this formula cleans well w/o stripping my color or leaving my hair dried out. I have sensitive skin and I haven't had any allergic reaction in the week I've used it. The shampoo has a sweet candy-like scent but it rinses out well & is very faint. Because it is sulfate free, it doesn't lather much which takes some getting used to because I am tempted to add more shampoo to get a rich layer of suds. It also has a thin consistency so it's easy to squeeze out too much from the tube. If I continue to get good results, I may be hooked despite the price. BTW, I tried this product by buying an introductory pack on tigi.com. For $25, I got the shampoo, leave-in conditioner, thickening lotion, a lip balm and shipping was included.

Masks -Aveda - Tourmaline Charged Radiance Masque
rated 4 of 5
imaladybug 6/11/2009 6:19:00 PM

This seems to be a highly effective mask. It seems to tighten my pores and leave my skin feeling smoother. It hasn't irritated my sensitive, combination skin. The tube has a narrow spout so it's easy to just squeeze out a little bit and apply a thin layer. However, this mask is incredibly pricey and I'm not convinced it works that much better than other clay masks I've used so I gave it only 4 stars overall. Beauty w/o Cruelty's clay mask is still my favorite in terms of effectiveness and price.

Cleansers -Boscia - Clear Complexion Cleanser with Botanical Blast
rated 5 of 5
imaladybug 12/22/2008 11:01:00 PM

This formulation seems to help control my break outs without drying my skin at all. I love its clean scent, the way it lathers & rinses off completely and the fact that it hasn't irritated my sensitive skin at all. Even my DH has noticed that my face feels smoother and softer.

Cleansers -Boscia - Purifying Cleansing Gel
rated 4 of 5
imaladybug 12/22/2008 10:59:00 PM

I recommend this cleanser for people w/ normal to slightly dry skin. It lathers beautifully, smells very fresh & rinses off completely. My skin is sensitive and has been a bit oilier than usual so I switched to the Clear Complexion Cleanser & prefer it.

Polishes -OPI - Bastille My Heart
rated 5 of 5
imaladybug 12/22/2008 10:31:00 PM

This color has become my all time favorite holiday red. In the bottle Bastille My Heart looks like a deep purple burgundy. As it is applied, the red color becomes more apparent. In bright, daylight the color looks like the red stripe on a candy cane; true, intense red w/ a slight shimmer. In low lighting, it looks like crushed blackberry w/ a very subtle shimmer. If you like Essie's Swing Velvet, check out Bastille My Heart. It's an easy to wear, sophisticated, rich red that complements this season's opulent colors & textures.

Polishes -OPI - Eiffel for this colour
rated 4 of 5
imaladybug 11/30/2008 10:33:00 PM

I tried this rich, trendy shade after my last professional pedi. The bottle was brand new so the nail tech had to apply 3 coats to get it completely even. This color is an intense wine w/ a subtle sheen. It looked very fashion forward yet elegant against my medium toned skin.

Polishes -OPI - Holiday in Toyland You're a Doll
rated 4 of 5
imaladybug 11/30/2008 10:26:00 PM

You're a Doll is an extremely pale mauve with a very subtle shimmer. It looks very clean & modern against my medium toned skin. My toe nails look like pearls & this soft color makes my toes look longer & more dainty. I'm considering trying it w/ a deeper berry shade for a reverse French manicure.

Treatments -Barielle - Natural Nail Camouflage
rated 5 of 5
imaladybug 11/20/2008 2:28:00 PM

This polish is excellent as a base coat or on its own. When I wear it on its own, I love how it gives my toe nails a beautiful, healthy looking sheen. The only drawback is the price @ $16/bottle and it being a little hard to find in local stores. I've signed up for barielle.com's e-mail list so I'll get promo notices & am hoping to find a good deal before I finish it.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Schick Intuition razor
rated 3 of 5
imaladybug 6/30/2008 8:54:00 PM

This razor does a decent job but isn't as good as the Schick Quattro. I like the soap bar that surrounds the razor blade because it eliminates the need for shaving cream. However, the soap bar is bulky so I needed to practice a little to make sure I was using it at the correct angle to get a close shave. I only tried this product because I got a free sample and I think the refills are pricey given that the blade seems to be getting dull faster than the Quattro blades. I do think the Intuition would be convenient to have on hand for travel and for quick touch ups. Other than that - I don't really recommend it.

Skincare - Body -NADS - Hair Removal Strips
rated 4 of 5
imaladybug 5/27/2008 3:26:00 PM

These wax strips are made of a paper like material instead of cellophane sheets. The advantage is that these strips are easy to tear into desired sizes. The wax itself melts easily and smells like melon. It's super sticky & effectively removes even fine, short hairs. The 24 strip package includes wipes designed to soot the skin & to clean off excess wax. The wipes worked pretty well but I still needed to use a body oil & a lotion based cleanser to clean it off completely. This wax did clean off a bit more easily than others I've tried. (e.g. Avon, Sally Hansen & Parissa wax strips)

Polishes -OPI - Cosmo-Not Tonight Honey
rated 4 of 5
imaladybug 2/10/2008 8:32:00 PM

This golden pearly-metallic shade is really pretty. I used it on my toes & a lovely, subtle pinkish hue prevented this from bringing out the yellow undertones in my skin. Cosmo-Not Tonight Honey looked so modern, clean & elegant that I'm looking forward to wearing it again.

Treatments -Clairol - Clairol Nice'n Easy ColorSeal Conditioning Gloss
rated 5 of 5
imaladybug 12/4/2007 6:48:00 PM

This drugstore deep conditioner gives Joico K-Pak conditioner a run for the money. I had my hair permed in the early fall & then highlighted a few months later. I got away w/ it because I have thick hair but it started to get dry & the color was fading a bit. ColorSeal Conditioning Gloss left my hair softer & seemed to help protect my highlights. This is definitely a good bargain. Update: Still loving this deep conditioner & highly recommend it.

Cleansers -Aveeno - Clear Complexion Cleansing Pads
rated 3 of 5
imaladybug 9/21/2007 9:05:00 PM

Does a nice job of cleaning my face when it is going through an oily phase. It rinses off well and has a pleasant, light scent. These don't lather up as well as the Positively Radiant pads but I still would recommend them to someone w/ oily skin. Update: Had bad allergies (pollen, poor air quality due to fires in area) & this product irritated my skin even more. I demoted my rating from 4 down to a 3. I'll be sticking w/ the Positively Radiant formula.
