Other -Unlisted Brand - Birchbox

I got a 6 month gift subscription for Birchbox. I would have never purchased this myself b/c I figured it would suck. It did. I was excited at first b/c you get to make a profile w/ preferences...like natural products, acne products, etc. After 6 months of this, the three best things I got were a shick razor (w/ coupons), an eyeko purple eyeliner and a pixi eyeshadow stick (a tinkerbell one) These were all full size things and I use them all regularly. Everything else was just so useless. For example, the november box had scented handsoap samples, a stinky bath fizz thing, a texturizing/volumizing hair spray ( i have super thick hair, would never need that) and a nasty perfume sample (every perfume sample i got was disgusting). I was excited for nail polish samples and I only ever got two and both were ugly. It would be great if like the julep program you could preview what you get and skip a month. But I don't think that's possible b/c every box is different for everyone. Another crappy thing about this is that I would get emails with previews with videos. They would always show great stuff. Like in the 'goop' themed box they had the eyeko eyeliners a stila lipgloss and a small essie polish. I did not get one of those things. And for this month's video they featured an organic lipbalm from a portland based company which I would have been SO happy to get (always looking for new lip balm). Did not get it. SUCH a disappointment.

Lips -Revlon - Just Bitten Lip Stain
ilovemakeupandsoshouldyou 7/24/2010 9:07:00 AM
Gah! I wish I had read these reviews first! I was so excited about this that I just went out and bought, like the previous reviewer what I thought would be a lighter shade, twilight. ugh, so wrong! I spent $8 on this thing at wal-mart...I wonder if I could return it... I'm still going to try and make it work though..maybe by applying less and trying to rub it around (though it seems kind of un-smearable). Hmm. :(

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector
ilovemakeupandsoshouldyou 1/14/2010 7:48:00 PM
I have bad under-eye circles. No matter how much I sleep or water I drink or whatever, they're ugly. Kind of purple/blue. Also I have a big fat vein under my eye that is always very visibly blue. I've been using this in the Light Bisque shade for about 3 years and I have definitely bought it more than once. The texture makes it stick and when I put the BB powder over it, it doesn't get in the creases. This is the ONLY concealer I've used that's actually worked. The only that's annoying is that it's $22 for a tiny little container. I try and get it at CCO most of the time.

Lip Treatments -The Body Shop - Papaya Lip Butter
ilovemakeupandsoshouldyou 11/11/2009 7:50:00 PM
I actually really like this product. The scent is really great and happy. It actually works too and paying $6 for it isn't that bad (there are much crappier things that cost just as much). The only problem I have with it is the packaging, it would be much more convenient if it were in a tube. I got the mango kind too but I'm not sure if its as moisturizing.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational
ilovemakeupandsoshouldyou 8/21/2009 10:24:00 AM
So i had been eyeing these lipsticks for a while. I wanted Blushing Brunette, but I decided it might be too dark for me, so I got the shade lighter, Warm Me Up. In the tube it looks like a medium brownish pink shade. Well when i put it on it looked almost lilac tinted. So weird! But maybe it's just me because my mom says it looks fine. It feels fine on but it doesn't feel as nice as revlon lipstick. Oh well, maybe I'll try the Brunette shade. Also, I was surprised at how little product you get. The tube looks big but when I rolled up the lipstick it only takes up half the tube. Seems like a rip off.

Blush -Physicians Formula - POwder Palette Multi-Colored Blush
ilovemakeupandsoshouldyou 8/16/2009 11:45:00 AM
This is my favorite peach blush. The only problem is the packaging. There's blush and the blush pan flips up to reveal a little compartment for a brush. I just think it's bulky. It's perfect and pretty natural. The browns make it natural I think, a little like a bronzer.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Waterproof Voluminous Carbon Black
ilovemakeupandsoshouldyou 8/14/2009 2:54:00 PM
I've been using Black Brown Waterproof voluminous forever and it's perfect but there's just something weird about the Carbon Black kind. No matter what I get raccoon eyes. It's weird because this is waterproof. Never buying this again.

Mascara -Maybelline - XXL Extensions
ilovemakeupandsoshouldyou 8/14/2009 2:49:00 PM
This does not do what it promises-extension looking lashes. Sure it makes my lashes long but no longer than other lengthening mascaras. It also doesn't last long or hold a curl and makes my lashes look spidery. I guess I'm just used to L'Oreal Voluminous that makes my lashes thick and long. Oh well.

Brows -Revlon - Colorstay Brow Enhancer
ilovemakeupandsoshouldyou 8/13/2009 8:54:00 AM
I'm always looking for something that will be natural and match the color of my brows. I've been wanting to try some bobbi brown eyeshadow to fill them in because Bobbi says powder looks the most natural. I've tried NYC brow groomer, that comes with powder and wax and it's just such a hassle. This Revlon stuff is perfect though. I got the Medium Brown/Soft Pink shade. It lasts a long time and just makes my whole face look better. I used to not be able to see my eyebrows in pics and now I actually can. I always like the look of strong brows and this product gives my thin brows that look. The highlighter is ok, I just wish the Medium Brown had the champagne shade not the pink. It's pretty though and subtle, so I don't mind. The brush it comes with is nice too, but I don't know how I'm going to keep track of it. I wish somehow they put the brush in the pencil or something.

Lip Treatments -Nivea - A Kiss Of Flavor Passionfruit
ilovemakeupandsoshouldyou 8/12/2009 10:08:00 AM
This is alright. It's better than the plain Nivea lipbalm, in the light blue tube. I really like the color of this. I love the packaging too. I don't think it's very moisturizing though. It's worth a try.

Foundations -Sally Hansen - Inspired By Carmindy Natural Beauty Your Skin Makeup ] [DISCONTINUED]
ilovemakeupandsoshouldyou 8/11/2009 8:20:00 PM
Ok, so I usually don't like foundation because it breaks me out and/or it just looks unnatural. I read a lot of good reviews about this and got it in April and got a free Carmindy blush (which is amazing). This turned out to be great. It evens my skin without looking gross and it doesn't break me out. I think I got Creamy Beige.I don't really know what to reference that with, but I have pretty neutral beige skintone (not extremely pale, less Cate blanchett more Rachel McAdams. When it started to get really hot, this got kind of heavy, so I started mixing it with my Eucerin everday protection lotion, as like a tinted moisturizer. It's the best TM I've used. It's kind of expensive but I don't think I'll be running out it anytime soon.

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Shimmering Nudes Palette
ilovemakeupandsoshouldyou 7/28/2009 7:31:00 PM
I finally got this at CCO a few months ago (and they still have it, and now they also the nude lip and eye palette, which i want too) and I just love it. I'm just surprised BB has ALREADY come out with another nude eye palette. It's crazy. These are my favorite eyeshadows, next to my one single BB eyeshadow, called 'sand' something. I pretty much wear a combination of these shadows every day. The few matte shades are kind of blah, but the espresso is good for liner. I use the eyeshadows with UDPP all the time so I wouldn't know their normal lasting power. These shades are just so sophisticated and wearable and just make me polished. I would buy it again if I ever run out. Or you know, another BB nude palette.

Bronzers -Revlon - Beyond Natural Blush & Bronzer
ilovemakeupandsoshouldyou 7/28/2009 7:14:00 PM
I had been wanting to try this for a while and didn't because it's just a tad expensive for drugstore. I finally caved and got it in pink. When I first tried it on it seemed pretty sheer. The coverage looks good and I can wear it at different coverages. It does look really natural and it is probably the most natural bronzer I've tried. It gives the perfect glow. Love this

Bronzers -Physicians Formula - Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Bronzer
ilovemakeupandsoshouldyou 4/26/2009 6:58:00 PM
I've had this for a while and just started using it again. I have it in the light skin shade. It looks really natural and subtle when first applied, but I think that's what makes it so good; it actually looks like I got a little sun when I didn't. It also looks a little pink too, which makes it look even more natural. Best bronzer ever.

Blush -Sally Hansen - Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy
ilovemakeupandsoshouldyou 4/21/2009 8:18:00 PM
This review is for the powder blush in cherub. I bought the foundation at Ulta and got a blush free. I had seen the cherub shade in magazines a lot and it always looks so pretty. It's a bright pink shade with hints of peach. It looks shimmery in the pan but doesn't look shiny on my face which is good. I really use a light hand because if I don't it looks really intense at first, but if I don't use enough it fades really quick, so usually I put a normal amount on with a normal blush brush and it fades to a perfect flush. This is probably the best blush I've tried other than Bobbi Brown in Tawny.
