Conditioner -Nature's Gate - Tea Tree Oil Conditioner
rated 5 of 5
ilgs 4/1/2009 2:31:00 PM

One of my HG conditioners! I totally love it. I don't suffer from dandruff, but I have sensitive, somewhat grease-prone scalp and more or less normal long (midback) hair, fine but thick. Don't be afraid to try this even if you don't need anti-dandruff stuff, it is not medicated, it's just that the tea tree oil & mint are supposed to be calming ingredients that soothe the scalp (and irritated scalp is one of the possible causes of dandruff). Anyway, Nature's Gate produces some of my favorite hair stuff so I try every product they have that fits my hair type. I haven't met one I disliked yet, though some are better for me than others. This one is amazing. Despite its thick creamy texture, it is a lightweight conditioner that moisturizes my waves without making them limp. It gives a wonderful fresh feeling and has a minty smell that makes you think of an early summer morning. I love using it with Lemongrass shampoo from the Organics line.

Brows -MAC - Brow Shader - Soft Charcoal and Maple
rated 5 of 5
ilgs 3/3/2009 1:08:00 PM

Great product, so sorry to hear it's been discontinued. The brow powder is great for those of us with really dark brows - it's not black, yet it's not too brown either, but a cold, gray-ish dark shade that makes brows look both defined and natural. The packaging is cool and useful, I'd love to see some e\s packaged like this. And finally the best thing - the Maple highlighter. It's the single most perfect nude eyeshadow I've even come across. It's just a touch darker than my lids, giving them depth, yet has a subtle, elegant golden satin sheen that, combined with black pencil, makes my very dark brown eyes pop in a totally natural way. I put it all over the lid, using one of MAC's eyeshadow brushes.

Lipstick -Isadora - Perfect Moisture in 68 Crystal Rosemauve
rated 5 of 5
ilgs 12/13/2008 3:19:00 PM

I needed to make a special entry for this one since this color is hard to find. Yes, despite the huge amount of pink lipsticks out there, it's difficult to find one that: - has a bright, cold yet natural pink shade, like a fresh rosebud. Despite its name, it's not mauve at all. Crystal Rose would be a more fitting one. A lot of cold pinks lean towards fuschia, this one doesn't. Other cold pinks tend to be too pale for my naturally red lips. This one isn't pale at all. - gives nice medium coverage while having very light texture - stays on very nicely despite aforementioned light texture - is also a bit moisturizing - packaged in a 'lockable' way - you put the lid on until it produces a click, and then you can sure it's not going to fall open in your purse IsaDora has never disappointed me, and I'm continuing to love this Sweden brand :)

Mascara -Shiseido - The Makeup Distinguish Mascara
rated 3 of 5
ilgs 9/11/2008 1:17:00 PM

First of all - why the hell does it say that it's waterproof ONLY on the back of the package, and in tiny tiny letters too? I would have never bought it if I knew that it wasn't normal mascara, and here you can't return makeup to the store. Overall, not bad if you like natural effect, and the color is a nice true black. It doesn't clump or flake either. But it's hard to remove, even with oil or oil-based special removers. I don't know what they made it for, going to a swimming pool with your 'face' on?

Eye Shadow -Estee Lauder - Pure Color - Candy Cube
rated 5 of 5
ilgs 9/4/2008 7:57:00 AM

Great pink! Cool, fair but not pale - just like a fairytale rosebud. :) It's silky, doesn't crease, has delicate satin-like shimmer that doesn't end up under your eyes. The packaging is pretty & useful, since you can see the color of your e\s without opening the lid. In winter, when my skin is practically white, I also use it as blush - the result is extremely subtle and very natural. The quality is on the same high level that we always expect from EL. It might be a bit expensive, but if you use just a few eyeshadow colors, you can afford it - and I'm glad I got this one.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Pure Color in So Grey
rated 2 of 5
ilgs 9/3/2008 9:40:00 AM

Useless e\s. It gives a hint of pale gray microglitter which tends to distribute itself all over the lid AND under the eye in a short time. No color whatsoever, and if you try to layer it, you'll get even more glitter accentuating your undereye circles. I suppose it's not so bad if you like glitter but then it's neither here nor there - the chunks are too large to be delicate, yet it's no way a bright silver or a metallic grey. I don't get the package either - the tiny applicator sponge has a huge holder hidden in a compartment at the bottom of the pot. Kinda fun in the spy-gadget way but time's a-wasting, no one has three spare minutes to open that tiny plastic lock.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Polyester Bride eyeshadow
rated 4 of 5
ilgs 5/13/2008 9:36:00 AM

It's an off-white shade with pale golden glitter. The aforementioned glitter, however, could be a bit more finely milled. Yet I wouldn't say it's too much - it looks quite subtle if applied with a light hand, and it's an interesting shade - not too frosty, not chalky either.

Eye Shadow -Clarins - Trio reflets in sirocco
rated 5 of 5
ilgs 5/13/2008 9:15:00 AM

What a lovely set. Chestnut medium brown, gentle salmon & violettish lavender. They make an unusual but striking color-combo, the brown shade can be used as eyeliner. Another great combo is lavender on outer part of top lid, salmon on the inner, with some bubblegum pink eyeshadow in the middle & subtle black or purple liner. Both lighter shades also look great as all-over lid washes. The quality is amazing - extremely finely milled, extremely rich pigment - it takes just a tiny amount of eyeshadow for the color to show up truly and clearly. It doesn't even claim to be long-lasting - yet it is. The package is gorgeous and luxurious, a deep red with gold, also sturdy - I dropped it several times, I've had it for several years, yet it looks brand new. Clarins e\s rules.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HIP Color Rich Creme Crayon
rated 2 of 5
ilgs 5/13/2008 9:09:00 AM

It is utterly un-blendable. If you use it all over the lid, it's fine, though too frosty for my taste (I have the pearl-white shade). But if you try to highlight the browbone with it, or simply add any other e\s - oi. It simply sits where you drew the line - and it won't budge, won't allow the outlines to be blended, nothing. Yet with all its stubborness, the lasting power is pretty average.

Palettes -Urban Decay - Rock Superstar Face Case [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
ilgs 5/13/2008 6:43:00 AM

This is the best face case ever, ever, ever. Eyeshadow: 1) Hotpants - bubblegum pink (can double as blush, because it goes on quite lightly) 2) Polyesther Bride - off-white with pale gold shimmer (basic wash for cool-toned people when applied with a light hand, or you can layer it and get a bold look) 3) Oilslick - charcoal black with fine rainbow glitter (great for smoky eyes, also makes great eyeliner when applied wet with a flat eyeliner brush) 4) Asphyxia - lavender with cool blue sheen (makes brown eyes practically pop out of your head XD, and again, a wonderful shade for cool-toned brunettes aka Winter type) Lip gunk: 1) Asphyxia (gloss) - cool bluish pink with lavender sheen (quite sheer actually, so the end result looks almost natural) 2) Hotpants (gloss) - dark rose-pink (very versatile) 3) Buzzkill (lipstick) - sheer wearable cherry red 4) SWF - nude with silver shimmer Also: Disco Inferno, clear glitter gel with lavender-blue glitter If you look good in cool shades, you like shimmer, pinks & lavender and you put more accent on your eyes rather than your lips, it's the ideal palette. All you'd need to add is mascara, concealer if needed, powder\foundation, a few eyeliners or eyeshadows, a brow pencil, and your cosmetic wardrobe would be complete. Actually, I still have this palette, even though it's discontinued, and I especially love the lip selection - all I needed to add was a coral gloss and a bright pink lipstick. And it's possible to create a subtle look with it - for example, line your eyes with Asphyxia and use SWF on your lips. It's a very versatile case. The case itself is a flat, slender metallic rectangle, very sturdy, with a huge mirror.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Plushglass in Bountiful
rated 5 of 5
ilgs 5/12/2008 6:39:00 PM

A perfect nude gloss - it's glossy babydoll pink, very sheer and diamond-shimmery (yet the shimmer is superfine, no flaking glitter). Tastes very subtly of mint and vanilla. Non-sticky, yay! Great staying power, especially for a non-sticky lightweight gloss. I'll take MAC glosses over famed Lancome Juicy Tubes any day! Besides, the package is extra nice, the handle will never slip out of your hand, and there is a lot of gloss for a decent price.

Eyeliner -Isadora - Inliner kayal
rated 5 of 5
ilgs 5/12/2008 4:19:00 PM

I have it in 51 Indian Black. This one is really a little gem. Its color is deep, rich, a true black. Its staying power is nothing to laugh at, and it's both very creamy and not very smudgey, which happens not all that often. Recommended!

Lip Gloss -Urban Decay - Asphyxia Lipgunk
rated 5 of 5
ilgs 5/11/2008 4:10:00 PM

The perfect cool pink for a dark-haired, fair-skinned girl! It has a lavender sheen, so it's not a girl next door pink, it's a vixen pink, but it's also sheer, which makes it totally wearable for every occasion. The staying power is great, the smell is lovely, and it's not too sticky either! HG!

Eyeliner -Yves Saint Laurent - Long-lasting Eye Pencil (Dessin Du Regard Haute Tenue)
rated 2 of 5
ilgs 5/11/2008 4:07:00 PM

Smooth? Richly pigmented? I got some other eyeliner :( It smudges like crazy, it runs below my eye, and the (shade #1) black color looks like dirt on my lid. Besides, it's dry so it doesn't glide when applied, it tugs.

Eyeliner -Yves Saint Laurent - Long-lasting Eye Pencil in #7 (Mink Touch)
rated 2 of 5
ilgs 5/11/2008 4:02:00 PM

A dark gilded taupe on the back of my hand, yet it doesn't show up on my eyes. At least not until I go over the same place about four times. Which isn't particularly pleasant since the pencil is on the dry & hard end of the spectrum. It also doesn't prove its claim - the staying power is average at best. Revlon eye pencils are much better.
