BB Cream -Skin79 - Super+ BB Cream Gold Label

My favourite BB cream! This stuff is amazing, it actually improved the texture of my skin, especially the area around my nose where I have mild seborrhoeic dermatitis (flakies are barely noticeable when I use this). This has a medium to heavy coverage which is better than the skin79 hot pink that I have tried. I love the texture - the cream blends well into the skin and gives me better coverage than concealer does for the day time. The product is buildable and is great for covering minor acne scarring and lightens blemishes - I gently pat extra product onto areas that I want more coverage after the first layer I put all over my face. Although this is targeted for normal to dry skin, I have an oily complexion and this gives a wonderful matt finish where barely any shininess comes until after 5-6 hours (this is with primer & moisturiser underneath and set with translucent powder on top). Skin feels moisturised enough without feeling weighed down by any greasiness that I feel with other BB creams. If I want extra coverage I apply a layer of this product around my nose, under eyes and the corners of my mouth before I apply my normal foundation. Overall this a great product which is fine for both normal and oily/combination skin types with light to medium skin tones (unfortunately it only comes in one colour) and is dirt cheap on ebay when buy it from a korean seller).

BB Cream -MISSHA - M Signature Real Complete B.B. Cream SPF 25 PA++

This is a wonderful bb cream which feels light on the skin and is definitely not mask-like at all. The packaging is so pretty! Its cheaper to purchase on Ebay or Amazon but be careful of fake products (just check out the seller's reviews to help you decide). It provides you with sheer coverage (it is not like normal foundation which offers a fuller coverage) and has SPF in it which is a bonus so it is good for the days that you want a natural, effortless look. It is quite runny, so the product is quite easy to spread on the face. It is great for dry to normal skin but for those with oily skin like me, my t-zone becomes quite oily after 4-5 hours of wearing this. I do set it with a translucent finishing powder and use a primer beforehand but I would need to touch up with powder or blotting paper to remove any shininess. I would prefer to use this in winter on days that I prefer lighter coverage. I did notice that it faded after 4 hours though..

BB Cream -Lioele - Beyond the Solution BB Cream

Bought a 5ml sample of this on Ebay to test (cheap! but be careful of fakes). It has an amazing medium to full coverage (under eyes, blemishes, light acne scars) and has a flawless, almost airbrushed finish. Unlike normal foundations you do not need to use much product to cover your face. You can layer it on problem areas for more coverage. It is better to use fingers to gently pat it across your forehead, chin, nose, cheeks followed by gently spreading it with the warm touch of your fingers. Some may find it difficult to blend because it is a little thick so use a moisturiser before application and it will spread better. The downside is that there is only 1 colour (a light beige with yellow undertones) and would not be suitable for those with medium to darker skin tones. I have oily skin so my face became a bit shiny after wearing product for 3-4 hours with a finishing powder. It is definitely hydrating and would be ideal for those with normal to dry skin.

Primer/ Corrector -Australis - Primer
ilessthan3u 8/31/2012 7:56:00 AM
Good things about this primer: 1. Cheap 2. Easy to use 3. Pleasant fragrance Contains (from the site): Cucumber, cranes bill and rose extracts: toning, revitalising and firming Vitamins A, E and C: antiaging, skin rejuvenators that fight environmental stresses, honey, aloe vera and lavender extracts This was the first primer I had ever tried until I came across some better ones. It leaves your skin smooth for the application of liquid foundation but the lasting power is a drawback. My foundation would fade after 3-4 hours of wear. I have oily/combination skin and my t-zone started to shine at about the same time my foundation faded. I did not experience any breakouts with this product and I really liked the subtle and soothing fragrance (unlike the chemical smell of other primers). Not the worst but not the best primer out there.

Liquid -Maybelline - Dream Liquid Mousse

This was the second liquid foundation that I had tried. It is a nightmare for anyone like me who has oily skin as shininess on the t-zone comes through after 2 hours of wear (yes even with a finishing powder and primer). Its got a terrible orange tone to it which I absolutely hate. The coverage is alright but it fades after 4-5 hours of wear. I do not recommend this for anyone with oily skin as it will only make you look like an orange oil slick. Only good thing about it was that it had a hygienic pump and you were able to see how much product was left.

Loose Powders -Australis - Ready Set Go Finishing Powder
ilessthan3u 8/31/2012 7:40:00 AM
This is a fantastic finishing powder! I've gone through 3 of them already. I have oily-combination skin and it keeps my t-zone shine free for at least 5-6 hours (with the use of a primer under my foundation) before any shininess shows through. It does not cake up and does not leave a white cast on my face. I have never experienced any break outs with this powder so that's been a huge plus. I love carrying this around for touch ups but its very frustrating when it has tipped upside down because when I open it the powder flies everywhere! Very annoying but it does the job. It does not come with an applicator which is fine so I've been applying this with a powder puff instead of using a brush and it gives your face an amazing airbrushed finish! Its cheap too which is a bonus.

Crème -Revlon - ColorStay Whipped Creme Makeup

I've been dying to try this foundation after hearing all the reviews and finally bought it at Priceline on sale for $24. In Australia it retails for $34.95 which is a bit pricey IMO for a drugstore foundation compared to what they retail for in the US - but so far it does the job. At the store I was relieved to find that they offered samples in black squeezy tubes for you to test out the colours on before you purchase the product. The colour 200 sand beige is a perfect match for my skin and does not have an annoying orangeness to it that some foundations have. The coverage is pretty good - covered the redness around my nose and light acne scars (with a little help of concealer blended with it). I have oily skin which usually shines through after a couple hours of wearing liquid foundation, but I did not experience any shininess for at least 4-5 hours (without any setting powder) so that's a bonus for me. I'm sure it would have lasted an 8 hour day with translucent finishing powder on top. Yes the jar is not the most hygienic but you can use a spatula to scoop the product out. My only quip is that it would be better for travel if there was a pump because the product went all over the removable white lid while I travelled around with it. Anyway, I'd recommend this for anyone with dry to combination skin but setting with powder would be fine for those with oilier complexions.

Liquid -Revlon - New Complexion Oil Control Makeup
ilessthan3u 3/17/2012 1:09:00 AM
I needed a new foundation that would help my oil-prone skin and came across this product when I was researching foundations suitable for oily skin. I use 06 Medium Beige and I love the natural feel and shade. The foundation feels light on the skin and does not cake up on me. It also doesn't have an annoying orange tone which is great but I find that it fades after 5 hours with primer and my t-zone starts to shine a little bit. It blends beautifully into the skin but I still need some translucent powder to set it. Just need to carry blotting paper and some powder on long days to touch up where I need to. The overall coverage is average - it did not cover my light acne scars very well and when I tried layering the product on certain areas so did not make a difference. It did however cover the redness around my nose. I wear this with some Skin79 BB VIP Gold BB cream underneath areas for more coverage if I need it. I wouldn't recommend this for those with dry skin patches as it enhances them and makes it look worse. I tend to have dryness around my nose in the winter and using this without my Advantan cream applied beforehand accentuates the dryness which frustrates me. Still hunting for the perfect foundation...
