Unless you are going to use this regularly, I would pass on purchasing the Mia. I love my Mia and when I do use it, it leaves my skin smooth and oh so clean. However, I use it sparingly. Although it is a great product and nice to have, it is not something I cannot live without.
Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Professionnel Platinum Concealer Airbrush #57
iheartNARS 6/8/2011 5:15:00 AM
I can't believe there isn't already a review on this brush!! The 57 applies concealer the way I had hoped the MAC 224 would. It applies concealer seamlessly and perfectly blended. It is rather large, has synthetic bristles and does not shed. It is currently $24 at Sephora and worth every penny! Their Professional Platinum line is pretty impressive and worth taking a look at.
Highlighters -Christian Dior - Shimmer Powder 002 Amber Diamond, Spring 08
iheartNARS 6/8/2011 5:09:00 AM
Amber Diamond was well worth the splurge!! The shimmer is very fine and does not look glittery or chunky. It provides a beautify glow and have gotten several complements while wearing this. It is perfect for highlighting the tops of my cheekbones.
I love the color of this product (I wear it in Bronze) and love the fact that it is waterproof (I am allergy prone and get watery eyes). It does not settle into fine lines, but it does emphasize my dry patches when my eczema flares up. It is the best concealer I've come across thus far.
The color of this bronzer is gorgeous! There is no orange hue to it, and it is great for contouring. It has subtle shimmer, but I love the glowy effect it imparts. I have had my Casino bronzer since 2008 and it still applies like a dream. It comes of a ton of product, and it will probably go bad long before I ever hit pan.
This product hold my curl like no other! I have tried countless curling mascaras (in conjunction with an eyelash curler) and my short, stubby and straight lashes would lose its curl. Once I started using the mascara base, I can cry and still have a curl afterward. I honestly don't notice a difference from the older formula compared to the current one. I'm not sure whether it is actually nourishing my eyelashes, but as long as it holds my curl, I will continue to purchase this product.
I have been wearing this product for years now. It is the only product thus far that matches my skin tone to a T. I wear the color Pure Honey and it blends in perfectly (for reference my closest match is NC44). Pure Honey provides a "glowy" effect, but does not have any shimmer. The packaging is also fantastic as the sifter can close and will prevent too much product from escaping the holes. Great for travel. As long as I don't get any lighter, or darker, I will continue to purchase this product. The SPF is an added bonus to an overall amazing mineral powder.
This is my first matte blush. Although I LOVE blushes with shimmer, when I wear shimmery eyeshadow I don't want shimmer overload on my face. Hence, I was in search of a matte blush. I purchased it because I saw a picture of Beyonce wearing Amour and I loved the flush it provided. It is a beautiful peachy pink that blends flawlessly.
Although the texture and pigmentation of Cordura is amazing, it took me awhile to LOVE this product. They are darker neutral colors, so to make it work for me, I have to use a fluffy eyeshadow brush (like the 224) to really diffuse the colors. If I want a dramatic-neutral eye look, I go to Cordura!
I absolutely love the quality of NARS eyeshadows in general, and Mekong did not disappoint. I personally use this as a liner using an angled liner brush and I get a beautiful non-harsh looking result. The color is a deep brown with gold shimmer, not similar at all to Galapagos. Will repurchase!!
Liquid -Victoria's Secret - Soft Focus Liquid Foundation SPF 20 [DISCONTINUED]
iheartNARS 1/17/2010 1:15:00 AM
My search for a *perfect* foundation is finally over! I have super dry, uneven skin with a warm olive complexion. VS Soft Focus Liquid gives me beautiful, dewy, sheer and luminous coverage which is exactly what I've been looking for. I wanted a slight step above tinted moisturizer, and when applied lightly this gives me just that. For reference, my closest matches are NC44 and MUFE 153. HOLY GRAIL! **UPDATE** After wearing this foundation for a few weeks I noticed I looked as though I had allergies. There is a pink hue to this foundation that I had failed to notice. Since I am olive toned, the pink looks terrible on me. I still love the soft focus effect of the formula, but the color does not match.
Makeup Brushes -MAC - 131 Duo Fibre Powder & Blush Brush
iheartNARS 7/12/2009 12:10:00 AM
I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS BRUSH! It works amazingly with my MSF, but it also applies my NARS blushes just as beautifully. It is pricey, but I personally don't mind since it works so well. I've only used it for blush, but as other reviewers have mentioned, it can be used for many other purposes. It's slightly more firm than the 187, and it only shed once when I first washed it. The 131 is a must have for me. **UPDATE** After the novelty of having a new duo fibre brush wore off, I seldomly reached for it. There are other brushes that perform much better.
Sadly Diorshow didn't work for my short stubby lashes. Although it did lengthen my lashes, it didn't thicken or hold my curl. Would not repurchase.
I have straight stubby lashes and was hoping that Bad Gal would be the answer to my HG mascara quest... but it is not. Although it held my curl, it didn't thicken or lengthen my lashes. 1 out of 3 is not enough for me to repurchase this product- especially since this isn't cheap! For me it performs as well as drug store brand mascaras.
Torrid is a gorgeous coral/pinky/peach color with a very slight golden shimmer. It's a great color to wear during warmer months. I think it would be more flattering on darker skin tones, but with a light hand it may look just as pretty on those with lighter skin. Even though it's $25, it lasts a long time (I've had mine for a year and still haven't made an indent yet). The texture and pigmentation of Torrid is to die for!
