Mascara -Cover Girl - Natureluxe Mousse Mascara - Water Resistant
idigdirt 7/23/2012 5:15:00 PM
I bought this sometime, I don't recall when. Never opened it and found it a few weeks ago in a makeup pouch. Hmmm, where did this come from? It is the bomb! I can't believe how much I like it. I've been on a mascara quest lately and been disappointed in most all. From high end on down. This simple little tube does everything I want in a mascara. Doesn't run or smudge. Goes on easily with just enough 'wetness' as somebody go on so dry. It lengthens, thickens. One coat does it. This is a secret little gem that somehow I picked up and put aside. So glad I found it. With all the mascaras on the shelves, you might overlook this. It really is wonderful.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies

Ick....clumpy, wet and the wand is flimsy. It "gives" with pressure....what's with that? Hard to apply. Just overall not a good product. I just bought Buxom...hope it's worth the $18.

Lip Gloss -Bare Escentuals - Buxom Lips Lip Gloss in Ruby
idigdirt 9/2/2010 7:20:00 PM
I love this lip gloss. The color is divine on my light, cool skin. It looks darker in the tube than comes out. It gives nice definition to my lips, moist without gooey. Lasts about as long as you can expect a gloss. The hint of peppermint feels like it's freshening your mouth. I'm sort of a lip gloss junkie, don't like a lot of color. This is perfect for me for the subtle color, shine, moisture.

Lotions/ Creams -Cerave - Moisturizing Cream
idigdirt 8/29/2010 10:18:00 PM
I really like this cream. Comes in a huge jar which isn't sanitary, but hey, we're all exposed to stuff just walking around I guess. When I get dry patches I add a drop or two of EVOO to this. I love that there's no fragrance. I use it liberally because it's so reasonably priced...all over face, neck and upper chest. Wish it had SPF...I'd use it in the am also...so for now just night time.

Moisturizers -Cerave - Moisturizing Lotion
idigdirt 8/24/2010 3:42:00 AM
This review is for the cream in the tub...thicker than the bottle. Despite being in a tub which isn't the most sanitary, I do love this. It's a basic cream to be used on face and body. No fragrance which I love. It soaks in and feels very moisturized without being a grease pit. I recently have been adding a drop or two of EVOO to my dallop of Cerave on my face, neck and chest area. It makes my skin glow without being oily. I only use this at night because it is a bit heavy. I believe I could use it for daytime also if I didn't want an SPF and used a lesser amount. I have break out issues and this does not irritate my skin. It's cheap, found at Walgreens. Haven't been able to find it at Target, my go to store. Occasionally Walgreens will have a coupon for this also. Can't beat the price for the quality.

Styling Products -Kenra - Volume Spray (aerosol)
idigdirt 8/24/2010 3:36:00 AM
I use the #25 and it's the best I've found since they changed my holy grail Nexxus, which I used for years and they changed the can, and the formula although they claim it wasn't altered. I've tried many....have to have aerosol. I've never been good with pumps no matter what they say and how fine they claim the mist is. Just clumps too much for me. Kenra holds pretty well. Not as find a mist to give the lift I'd like, but close. Still searching.....

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Extra Virgin Olive Oil
idigdirt 8/24/2010 3:33:00 AM
I've been using this off and on for probably 2 years. When I'm "off" and I go back to it I wonder why I stopped. It gives my skin a clarity I've not found with any other product. I mix a few drops in with my night time moisturizer....currently Cerave cream in the big jar. If I have a few flakes it zaps them. In the morning, gone. I only use it at night. I could probably use this alone, but would be too oily. I have oily/combo/aging skin. Now how's that for a combo? The price can't be beat. Around $5 for maybe 6 ounces and I've hardly dented the bottle. I also use a hefty amount of the moisturizer with this mixed in and spread it over my neck and chest each evening. Seems to be a great under eye moisturizer too. I have rarely used an extra product for under eye.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Face & Body Foundation
idigdirt 8/15/2010 9:00:00 PM
Well the only crummy thing I have to say about this is the packaging, which I've since found out that it now comes with a pump. Unfortunately I didn't get one of those. That being said, I love this foundation, despite the glass bottle with the too big opening. I returned the HD foundation and got this one. It was a toss up between these two when trying my first MUFE foundation. This totally blends into my skin and makes my not so great complexion look as good as I've seen it. You can layer it on without looking cakey. I've been applying with a foundation brush....dense type. I tried the skunk brush but it doesn't seem to work well with this foundation. I like the consistency of this foundation. As mentioned before it's a gel-like consistency which needs to be shaken up pretty well before application. The color blends seemlessly into my skin. It is a very natural, healthy look. And I need some coverage! The size bottle and amount seem reasonably priced by today's standards. I'm very pleased with this foundation. I'm always on a quest for foundation hoping to find the next best thing!

Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
idigdirt 8/15/2010 8:50:00 PM
I was very excited to finally bite the bullet and lay out $42 for this foundation. I'd heard so much about it and have been lemming it for a couple years. What a waste of lemming! This stuff sat on my skin. Looked horrible. I had the right color as I'm easy to match. It didn't sink in or blend into my skin. You could see it sitting on my skin. I use moisturizer and a primer so that wasn't the problem. I have never returned makeup before, but for this price I did. The gal who waited on me turned her nose up at this product also. Said to try the MUFE face and body, which I already had decided I was going to trade this in for. 1000% better product which I'll review next and it's a few dollars less expensive.

Styling Products -Suave - Extra Hold Aerosol Hairspray
idigdirt 11/10/2009 4:40:00 PM
Well was hoping I'd find a good hairspray cheap....wrong! This stuff goes on so wet it's ridiculous. My hair just falls like I've dumped water on it. Horrible stuff. The search continues.

Hair -L'Oreal - Elnett Hairspray
idigdirt 11/10/2009 4:38:00 PM
This stuff does nothing for my hair. Doesn't hold whatsoever! I do not like it. I'm glad I only bought the little travel size....although that alone was like $7. I'm still on the search for a strong holding spray!

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #187 Duo Fiber Face Brush (Stippling, Skunk Brush)
idigdirt 6/24/2009 12:16:00 AM
This brush is amazing. I haven't tried it for foundation and don't really understand how it would work especially with liquid. I use it for blush. It picks up just the right amount. It's so soft but still holds up when applying product, meaning the hairs don't "buckle" under pressure. It is pricey however. This was included in my first MAC purchase when I was prepared to splurge. I'd heard and read so much about this brush I had to try it. Worth it.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot - Groundwork
idigdirt 6/24/2009 12:10:00 AM
This was my first paint pot purchase. Been using it exclusively for months now. I first use my UUDP to prime. Then use this to deepen the color of my lids. Then I put on eyeshadow. Anything from taupes to purples. I usually do a neutral eye. I'm a NW20. I want to try other paint pots....unfortunately don't have a MAC counter close by. I wanted to go nuts on the recent F&F, but ended up not taking advantage of it at all.

Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - curl conscious holding foam
idigdirt 6/24/2009 12:05:00 AM
Like all B&B products this stuff is pricey. BUT, it works like nothing else on my shoulder length, fine but thick wavy/curly hair. I blow my hair till about half dry and use this to set waves and curls. It holds and gives a piece-y look I love. The pros are many...it gives me just the look I crave. The cons are the price and the container. It's hard to press the pump and get the right amount. It's kind of hard to push and if too much force you get way more than needed and because of the price I certainly don't want to waste any. I will repurchase and have. Edited a few years later: I still love this stuff! I have tried numerous other products trying to find a cheaper dupe. I've also tried high end stuff. Nothing compares for me. This gives just the right texture, moisture to make my hair do what I want. It's expensive but I have a closet full of products taking up space and wasted money on. I hope they never discontinue this or change the formuls.

Lip Treatments -MAC - Hello Kitty -- Pink Fish Tinted Lip Conditioner
idigdirt 4/11/2009 6:54:00 PM
This is a cute package, no doubt. I have strayed away from pots for years because of the mess and contamination. But I was drawn in to this because of the reviews. I am constantly on the look out for a good lip conditioner. This is good and the hint of pink is an added plus.
