Blush -Chanel - Joues Contraste in Rose Petale 99
icypeeches 3/20/2012 7:42:00 PM
I have heard a lot about the Euro and US version of the Chanel JCs. The Euro version of this product that I purchased in a duty free shop while traveling is TRASH. Poor pigmentation that I could barely get to show up on my NC20-25 skin. It pailed in comparison to my other Chanel blushes, but I did love the color. I decided to go to my local Chanel counter in the US and repurchased Rose Petale. This was an application where angels flew out of the compact and began to sing as I applied the finely milled powder to my cheeks. The US version is AMAZING. Awesome pigmentation, flattering color, that effortlessly blended into my skin. I would repurchase the US version. However, it still says "Made in France" just like the Euro version. The Euro formulation is baked and the brush that comes with it is black, whereas the US version looks more finely milled and comes with a brown brush. Chanel needs to get there act together and standardize the quality of their products.

Eyeliner -MAC - Added Goodness
icypeeches 2/19/2012 1:54:00 PM
Mac added goodness is a mauvy blackened brown, if that is a color. It is a dead ringer for Bobbi Brown blackened mauve. I actually prefer the bobbi brown eye liner because it is more opaque and stiffer in tecture. Overall, not a bad product, but a repeat for me.

Highlighters -Guerlain - Meteorites Cruel Gardenia
icypeeches 1/8/2012 10:24:00 PM
This highlighter is stunning and worth the hefty price tag in my opinion. It lends a pink glow to your skin. It's not glittery or overly frosty. However, the packaging sucks. I'm terrified that if I'm not super careful that the lid will mar the beautiful flower design. It seems that Guerlain was too lazy to design a new compact for this highlighter and just stuck it in the old pressed meteorites container. I am NC25 for reference. Edit: I bought a backup because I would die if I ever ran out.

Liquid -Chanel - Vitalumiere Aqua
icypeeches 12/24/2011 12:29:00 PM
At first I was on the fence about this foundation. I felt like it was a little too shiney and did not offer enough coverage. I decided to try topping this foundation with a dusting of MAC MSFN with my 187 brush and it gave a little more coverage and took care of excess shine while leaving a dewy glow. It's nice that it is a little cheaper than the rest of the Chanel foundations. The packaging is convenient for travel, but I expect fancier packaging for the price from Chanel.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked 2 Palette
icypeeches 12/21/2011 4:29:00 PM
I was hesitant about buying this palette, since I rarely reach for my naked 1 palette. However, I am so glad I bought this palette!!! The colors are much lighter and cool toned compared to naked 1. With naked 1 the colors would often turn muddy when blended together. Naked 2 has enough variety to create many different looks that blend seemlessly. A dark matte brown is the only thing missing from this palette. I have been using Mac handwritten in the outer V with this palette. Highly recommend. I love the packaging too.

Blush -NARS - Miss Liberty Highlighting Blush
icypeeches 12/7/2011 6:25:00 PM
I agree that this is more of a glittery product than a shimmery highlighter. I ordered this sight unseen during the sephora friends and family sale. I was hoping something more peachy and shimmery. The glitter is extremely finely milled and would be pretty for the eveing. Personally I think there are better highlighters out there. I returned this product.

Polishes -MAC - Unconditionally Fabulous
icypeeches 11/11/2011 10:26:00 PM
I'm a glitter polish junky. This is a very lovely iridescent glitter polish with uniform small round glitter pieces. I do love this, but I had to knock off one lippy because 5 stars goes to China Glaze Snow globe. Snowglobe is a more complex shade with different size glittle pieces within. They are both beautiful shades, but I would skip the Mac polish and get the China Glaze for half the price.

Highlighters -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade
icypeeches 10/5/2011 7:31:00 PM
Being that this was whispered about as unicorn blood in pan form, I had extremely high expectations. I thought lightscapade would be the end all and be all of highlighters. It is very pretty: smooth, not glittery, but imparts a pretty sheen. I use it all over with a 187 brush and a light hand as a finishing powder, and then the 116 to highlight my cheek bones, then mist with fix plus. I think this gives me a natural glow. However, there are a lot of other highlighters that can deliver similar results. A similar look could be created with guerlain meteorite as a setting powder and then dior amber diamond to highlight. I do think this is a backup worthy product, but not worthy of a price tag over retail. Edit: I saw that another reviewer said to add a cream color base underneath lightscapade. This really makes gives lightscapade a more high shine glow. Try it.

Blush -Milani - Baked Blush in Luminoso
icypeeches 8/13/2011 9:18:00 PM
Wow this is so pretty and it was less that $8. I rarely buy drug store makeup, but I'm so glad I bought this blush. It imparts a glowy natural flush on my NC25 skin. So glad I bought into the hype. Buy this.

Polishes -Butter London - No More Waity Katie
icypeeches 7/20/2011 4:53:00 PM
I love the name and color, but the formula was so thick it was tough to apply. This is a glitter polish so I wouldn't buy it if you don't love glitter. The color is a greyish purple with silver glitter. This took 3 coats to get an opaque look. Glad to have found this at ulta.

Blush -Chanel - Rose Tourbillon
icypeeches 7/7/2011 2:12:00 PM
This review is for the Nordstrom exclusive LE Rose Tourbillon. At first I thought this would be similar to Pink Explosion (LE), but they are nothing alike. Rose Tourbillon is a bright raspberry pink that is very pigmented with small flecks of silver shimmer. Pink Explosion is lighter, less bright, and not as pigmented. I would go lightly with the application of RT. I am NC25 for reference. This blush leans cool. I absolutely love it.

Polishes -Lippmann Collection - Glitter in the Air
icypeeches 5/7/2011 12:35:00 PM
I'm surprised this didn't get better reviews. I think this is such a unique pretty color. I did 4 thin coats and it looks gorgeous. If you don't want the nail line (white part) to show through as this is a sheer color I would layer this over a nude polish. I'm now addicted to Lippmann glitter polishes. I just wish they weren't so expensive, but they are worth it.

Moisturizers -Origins - VitaZing SPF 15 Energy-boosting moisturizer with Mangosteen
icypeeches 3/17/2011 10:46:00 PM
I also got this after hearing some youtubers rave about it. I have uneven skin due to sun spots and freckles and this helped to even it out because it does have a slight pigmentation. The first day I wore somebody said "did you cut your hair or go on vacation because you look like you have a beachy glow" I think this helps to moisturize and even out my pores. A little bit goes along way and you can look greasy if you use too much. My skin is combination/dry and NC25. This product is very cool, I hope this tube lasts awhile for $35.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Wonder Woman Defiance Eyeshadow Quad
icypeeches 2/11/2011 4:24:00 PM
I love this quad. I don't know why so many bloggers gave this such poor reviews. I did an EOTD with it today and its just gorgeous. The lightest color looks like pink opal in eyeshadow form, the darkest color is like a deeper version of sketch, the medium pink color is a sheer color that reminds me of vibrant grape, the second lightest pink is not pigmented and a bit chalky. This is the only dud of the quad, but it can be used to blend out the edges of the other colors. Overall, these colors can be blended together for a pretty and wearable look. Plus it comes in cute packaging. I'm so glad I picked this up.

Bronzers -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish - Pink Power
icypeeches 2/10/2011 4:07:00 PM
I am so glad I finally got my hands on pink power. At first I thought $35 was a rip off for a mac MSF, but considering you get 3 gorgeous MSFs in one and double the product, its a great deal. This product is an awesome multitasker for contour, blush, highlight. I used all 3 and it gave me they perfect natural glowy look. I love the tacky packaging too. I am NC25 for reference.
