Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Acne Free Night Repair Leave-on Foam

I bought this almost a year ago for around $7-8 at my local CVS. I probably could have gotten it for $6 or something at Walmart but I was desperate for an acne medication. I've been using this for cystic acne, nodules, and small bumps. It works AMAZINGLY on cystic acne. Whenever I see one about to come up, I apply this immediately and sometimes it doesn't go away (sometimes it does). When I see white stuff coming up from the pimple, I pop it and try to get out all of the stuff and then apply this. The next morning, its totally calmed down and by the next 2-3 days it becomes flat and blemishy. I know this is a really bad way to deal with cystic acne, but if I leave it alone then it never goes away and is just a huge lump of blood in my skin :( I also often get acne scarring and blemishes from popping it, but it's really painful to just leave alone. I always use this whenever I get severe breakouts and it always does the job! The only thing that is really bad about this product is the packaging. The foam is totally unnecessary and it's very difficult to control the amount of product. You really only need a little to cover your whole face, but the foam makes it difficult to judge how much you need. It's more of a watery gel substance. Another con is that it does NOTHING absolutely NOTHING for blackheads. When I use this on my nose, I feel like it actually /causes/ blackheads. I always avoid areas where I get blackheads easily when using this product. It says it's non-shine but it makes me look very shiny. It doesn't contribute nor does it have any oil control, which I don't really mind. I also don't like its sticky consistancy, but otherwise, this is the only acne treatment I've found that REALLY works wonders for my acne-prone skin.

Treatments -Clean & Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment

I purchased this on Amazon for about $5. Elsewhere it's about $6-8. I only use this for blackheads around my nose and cheeks because of the 2% salicylic acid. I've used the Patricia Wexler Acnescription Overnight Acne Repair Lotion that had 1.5% salicylic acid. It was $20 and it worked wonders getting rid of my blackheads. I used it for months and ran out of it, but it cleared up ALL my blackheads. I figured that this Clean & Clear treatment would do the same trick but for waay cheaper. I've been using this product for about 3 weeks and it did clear up the majority of my blackheads however it's SUPER drying. I have very oily skin but ANYWHERE I apply it, the next morning the area is incredibly dry, flaky, and rough :( It also stings and burns a lot when applied but it goes away after 3-5 minutes. I would use this at night only or every other day because it's very strong.

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Stiletto - Waterproof
rated 4 of 5

I have tried tons of different mascaras and this is the only one that is suuuuper separating, lengthening, and volumizing. It doesn't clump at all on my upper lashes, and only clumps a tiny bit on my lower lashes. I LOVE the natural look it gives my upper and lower lashes, especially. I have long, straight lashes, so it's hard to find a mascara that will hold my curl even if it's waterproof. The only downside is that it smudges underneath the corners of my eyes. I wouldn't mind if it wasn't that noticeable of a smudge, but it is very noticeable. Because my skin is oily, the smudged mascara makes my overall makeup look dirty and not fresh or clean looking at all. :( I can always fix it up throughout the day, but I hate having to fix it all the time. I probably will continue my search for my hg mascara once I run out of it, though!

Foundations -Rimmel - Clean Finish
rated 4 of 5

I bought it for around $5, which is one of the lowest prices for drug store foundation. Others are $11-15. It matches perfectly to my skin tone and lightly evens out my complexion. I like the creamy texture and the finish is very smooth. When you open the bottle, it comes out as a spatula, which I think is a lot better than pouring out the amount you want. I use very little foundation, so about two scoops the amount that the spatula takes out is usually enough for me. It's very light and I don't feel it on my skin. It works very well with a primer/base, but I don't recommend using it without one. It doesn't last very long. I do recommend this product, however it isn't for anyone who is looking for more than medium coverage. :)

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Daiso-Charcoal Mask
rated 5 of 5

This is the best mask that I have ever used in my entire life. Ever. I bought this at Daiso for $1.50. My nose has always had really gross noticeable blackheads that I would have to remove all the time manually (with a pimple popper) because masks never got it out. Now, my nose is soo super clean, clear, and bright looking! I have really bad acne on my cheeks too and after using it a few times, my skin is finally brighter and smoother. My pores drastically minimized, too. The consistency is similar to Boscia's Luminizing Black Mask ($34), but dries softer and doesn't take out as much blackheads. I'd have to say I like the Daiso mask better. I'm also going to stock up on this product since it's so inexpensive :)

Mascara -Maybelline - XXL Curl Power
rated 4 of 5

My eyelashes are the typical asian eyelashes. They're long, and they stick straight down. They tend to fall down after I apply mascara, so I was hoping for a cute, volumous curl with this mascara. It's extremely thick and volumous and it holds the curl EXTREMELY well. It makes a HUGE, HUUUGE difference for me. However, it does tend to clump because it is so thick. I found that the primer makes the curl stay really really well, making my eyelashes very stiff in the process. I don't really mind stiff eyelashes, as long as it looks cute and not weird, but it does kind of bother me, not really. This isn't very good for an everyday kind of look since it is really noticeable, but I like the look of false eyelashes, so (: When I was putting on the primer, I noticed that it left a lot of primer on the lashes, too much. It makes the lashes thicker, but stiffer and less natural. :/ Oh and it does a horrible job of separating. It'd give it like a 3.5 or 4 because if you don't use a good eyelash curler that separates well, this mascara doesn't do the job at all separating and causes you to look weird (at least I think so :/). But it does lengthen, volumize, curl, and hold the curl like it promises. The price for the mascara is $9 at CVS, pretty decent price for a drugstore product. The packaging is also good. I don't think I'd buy the product again. I bet I can find some other mascara that isn't as dramatic, holds the curl well and volumizes and separates.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Nail Magic
rated 4 of 5
icecreamtruckk 2/19/2010 3:42:00 AM

this is an AMAZING product. i have been using it for about a month or so and my nails are at the point where they usually chip, break or start peeling. i found that as long as i dont work with my hands/fingers in hot water for a long time, the polish works at its best to make my finger nails hard. it would be awesome if the polish were a bit more strong so it wouldnt peel off in hot water, but it already IS super strong. the smell is horrible, worse than regular nail polish, but i learned to deal with it to get hard nails. ): on several occasions, it made my eyes burn and water up when working with the polish. i'm not dumb, i didnt get it on my fingers and rub my eye or put it in my eye accidentally-- none of that. my face wasnt even super close to the bottle. :/ at first, when you put it on your nails you feel a bit of aching in your nails after they dry. i dont know why but it stopped happening after the first 3 or 4 times i've used it. on a good note, it dries SUPER. FAST. im not even exaggerating. after about 10 - 30 seconds it's dry (as long as you apply thin, even polish). i apply 2-3 coats, but i found that if i apply 2 coats, it wears off easier, so i put on 3 coats usually. overall, with some adapting to this product, it is awesome. :D

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Hard as Nails
rated 3 of 5
icecreamtruckk 12/20/2009 6:05:00 PM

I LOVE this product. I always wear it and apply 2 coats. Whenever I put it on, it makes my nails super hard. My nails chip really easily when it's bare. Before I got into nails, I used to always cut them so that there's no white parts, but now that I'm trying to grow my nails out I haven't realized how long it takes & how hard it is. Even though I have this polish on, my nails still KIND OF chip. I have a problem with peeling nail polish off when I get bored and my nails chip easily whenever I peel it off so it's not the polish's fault. EDIT: I take that back. It easily peels off, and goes on too thick most of the time even if I try putting on thin layers. It chips easily, and when it chips off my nails chip almost directly after that. I'd only use this for top coats when I don't want to waste my nail magic. :/
