Lip Gloss -Sally Hansen - Lip Inflation
ibaluvlyprincess 10/24/2005 5:20:00 PM
Product - Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Plumping Treatment
Packaging,Size - 0.2 oz clear tube with brush applicator. Looks a bit similar to Lip Fusion's tube, but shorter
Price - $3.99 at CVS
Me - I already have pretty big lips, but I'm still strangely obsessed with trying out lip plumpers. This might have an effect on how well these plumping products work since I'm not sure how much thicker my lips can get
Reviews - A very good product, especially for the price tag! I've tried a number or lip plumpers including Lip Venom, City Lips, Lip Fusion, Bliss Poutrageous, Stung (from ebay), TF Lip Injection, TF Fat Kiss. This is up to par with all of those. What I really like about it is that it doesn't give a burning sensation. It's actually a cooling effect that lasts about 10 minutes or so. I do notice a bit of a plumping effect, or as much as I can expect from a lipgloss. The other nice thing about this is that it doesn't turn my lips cherry red like many others do. My lips stay a nice pinky nude color. I will definitely be repurchasing this.

Moisturizers -Juice Beauty - Abundance Nutrient Moisturizer
ibaluvlyprincess 10/10/2005 10:34:00 PM
Product - Juice Beauty Abundance Nutrient Moisturizer
Packaging/Size - 2 oz, plastic tub. The packaging is the biggest turn off about this product. A tub? Not very sanitary and a bottle or tube would have made a lot more sense.
Price - $36, though I don't see this on the Juice Beauty website anymore. I think it's been replaced by the Nutrient Moisturizer
Comments - This is the most recent of the Juice Beauty lineup I have tried. I also own the Oil Free Moisturizer, Smoothing Serum, Cleansing Milk, Eye Cream, Harmonic Tonic, Tinted Moisturizer and the Green Apple Peel. All of those get raves from me and are among my staples.
Me - I'm 21 with combination skin. I have very few breakouts, however, my skin can get oily. I also have a few dry spots from using Green Cream. I was looking for a heavier moisturizer to use at night.
Reviews - Packaging aside, this is a nice moisturizer. It does it's job without a lot of fuss or hype. It's heavier in texture than the oil free moisturizer, but it sinks right it. Using this at night and the oil free moisturizer in the day keeps my skin hydrated without making it oily. Since it appears to be discontinued, I will try the nutrient moisturizer next time.

Cleansers -Juice Beauty - JUICE BEAUTY CLEANSING MILK
ibaluvlyprincess 10/10/2005 10:28:00 PM
Product - Juice Beauty Cleansing Milk
Packaging/Size - 6 oz, plastic pump dispenser. This is packaged with a pump like the ones on lotions. It's a generous 6 oz size, and I can see this lasting quite awhile.
Price - $22
Comments - I am a huge fan of the Juice Beauty line. I also own Abundance Moisturizer, Oil Free Moisturizer, Smoothing Serum, Tinted Moisturuzer, Eye Cream, Harmonic Tonic and the Green Apple Peel. All of those get raves from me and are among my staples.
Me - I'm 21 with combination skin. I have very few breakouts, however, my skin can get oily. I also have a few dry spots from using Green Cream.
Reviews - This is a very gentle cleanser. I use it in the morning and Shiseido Cleansing Oil at night. It is not drying at all and rinses off easily. It doesn't leave an filmy residue behind. There's a slight scent, which I assume is from the red raspberry juice that is added as an antioxidant. It's very faint and doesn't linger around. Overall, this is a simple, yet effective cleanser. I plan on repurchasing, but with the large bottle, I imagine it will be awhile.

Tinted Moisturizer -Juice Beauty - Tinted Moisturizer - SPF 30
ibaluvlyprincess 10/10/2005 9:43:00 PM
Product - Juice Beauty SPF 30 Tinted Moisturizer
Packaging/Size - 2 oz, frosted glass bottle with a pump top. Two thumbs up for the packaging. Unlike a lot of products with a pump, this one dispenses just the right amount. It's very easy to control how much you want, and you can use as little or as much as you want. I have mixed feelings about the glass bottle. Sometimes I want to toss it in my purse but can't.
Price - $29, seems pricey, however don't forget this is 2 oz as opposed to many others which are around 1 oz
Comments - This is the most recent of the Juice Beauty lineup I have tried. I also own Abundance Moisturizer, Oil Free Moisturizer, Smoothing Serum, Cleansing Milk, Eye Cream, Harmonic Tonic and the Green Apple Peel. All of those get raves from me and are among my staples. I'm glad to say I will be adding this to my list of staples as well.
Me - I'm 21 with combination skin. I have very few breakouts, however, my skin can get oily. I also have a few dry spots from using Green Cream. I've finally gotten my skin to the point where I can go out without foundation and still feel good. :) So I was looking for a good tinted moisturizer for just a little something light.
Reviews - This product completely met my standards for a tinted moisturizer. Though it only comes in one shade, I can really see this working for almost all skin tones. The tint is very sheer yet it still works in helping to cover any flaws. It works wonderfully as a moisturizer and my skin feels amazing - it's soft and dewy, but doesn't look like a grease pit. As for the SPF, I haven't researched whether this is stable or not. I use a different sunscreen from Shiseido, therefore, the SPF factor didn't play a huge role in my purchase. I will be purchasing this over and over again!
Tips - I've found that applying this with fingers is better than using a sponge. First of all, it uses less product and the finish looks more natural. This is also wonderful if you want light coverage overall, and then you can use a heavier product or concealer over problem spots.

Eye Shadow -Milani - Loose Eyeshadow Powder in Golden Green
ibaluvlyprincess 8/31/2005 4:35:00 PM
I previously tried a different shade of these loose eyeshadow powders (a light green, can't recall the name) and wasn't impressed with the pigmentation. But I saw this at Walgreens and grabbed it as an impulse buy. I'm very glad I did! It's a gorgeous deep green with golden shimmer. Will be perfect to use with my green smokey eye. As others have previously mentioned, the packaging is nothing to brag about. I'll probably end up dumping this into another container and ditching the brush. However for the price and the gorgeous color, I can overlook the packaging issues.

Concealers -Tony & Tina - Herbal Eye Base
ibaluvlyprincess 8/27/2005 5:33:00 PM
I'm a little confused by what this product is exactly supposed to do. It is a base for eyeshadow or is it a concealer... or both? For me, it didn't really work for either purpose. I usually use UD's Primer Potion, which is absolutely amazing. And comparing Tony and Tina's eye base to this makes for no comparison. This did help to make colors more vibrant but my eyeshadow creased within an hour. So I tried to use it as a concealer for my undereye area, and it was okay. Not amazing, not bad. It had decent coverage, but wasn't as creamy and blendable as I would like.

Primer/ Corrector -H20 - Complexion perfector (Primer)
ibaluvlyprincess 8/10/2005
I love this product so much I bought 6 extra tubes of it. I found it at TJMaxx/Marshalls for $5.99/each, and after testing it out, I fell in love. I apply it after using a moisturizer and before my makeup. It helps my makeup go on velvety smooth and last all day. It tones down blemishes and lines and gives a gorgeous glow.

Styling Products -Aquage - Beyond Shine
ibaluvlyprincess 7/4/2005 8:05:00 PM
I bought this from the spa where I work because shine is definitely something I'm looking for. It's not holy grail material, but it's also not a horrible product. It did impart a decent shine, but not anymore than my BTZ Smooth Shot which costs a fraction of the price. Smooth Shot also helps smooth down the frizzies, which Beyond Shine doesn't. My major gripe about this product is the smell. It doesn't linger, but it smells heavily of chemicals for several minutes after you spray it on. With my employee discount, I might think about buying it again. At full price, I wouldn't repurchase.

Scrubs -Alba Botanica - Pineapple Enzyme Facial Scrub
ibaluvlyprincess 7/4/2005 8:00:00 PM
I really, really wanted to like this scrub, but unfortunately I'm not very impressed. There's really no scrubbing action, because their are so few beads. Not very effective for exfoliation. The smell is nice though, and I didn't have any bad reactions. I guess my feeling is neutral, doesn't really seem to do anything.

Bronzers -Sugar Cosmetics - Tropic Tan [DISCONTINUED]
ibaluvlyprincess 7/4/2005 7:56:00 PM
Wow! Everyone kept saying how big this compact is, and it really is. I finally saw it in person at Ulta, and it *really* is *huge*. For $22, it is very much worth it. Not only is there a ton of product, but it's a product that works really well. It looks a little boring in the compact, but when applied, it gives the perfect color. It's also got a slight shimmer, but it's not gawdy. Just enough for a glow. My only gripe is that the compact is a "mirrored gold" color, so you can see every fingerprint on it. For some reason, that irks me :)

Lip Treatments -Kiehls - Lip Balm #1
ibaluvlyprincess 7/3/2005 8:37:00 PM
After hearing all the raves on here and in magazines, I had to try this out. But sadly, I'm very dissapointed. My first thought was this stuff stinks. And it really does. It's got a very odd, chemical smell to it. My second thought was that it was greasy. It felt very oily and watery on my lips. It never really seemed to absorb. For the same price, I much prefer CO Bigelow's My Favorite Lip Balm over this. It's got a much better scent and nicer texture.

Styling Products -Kiehls - Creme with Silk Groom
ibaluvlyprincess 7/3/2005 8:35:00 PM
My first time in a Kiehl's store, and I come out with this (and a ton of samples). My friend was actually the one who was initially buying it, but then the SA asked if she could try it out on my hair. In the store, I was sold on it. It gave my straight hair a nice shine and seemed to calm down the flyaways and frizz. I got home and tried it again. For some reason, I'm not liking it as much as I did in the store. I've got a load of other products in my stash that do the same or better job at a fraction of the price. I bought the smallest size, but the good thing is that you only need very little. I think using too much will actually make your hair greasy. I wouldn't repurchase simply because I have found other products that do the same thing for less, however, I will finish this bottle.

Blush -Stila - Petunia Convertible Color
ibaluvlyprincess 7/3/2005 8:30:00 PM
Wow! This is bright in the compact. I was a bit scared that it would look un-natural on. It seems like a trend with Stila's convertible colors. The colors look so much better on than in the pan. This is the *perfect* summer blush. It gives a pinky tint to my skin, with a slight dewy glow. It's easy to blend in and looks very natural. I will definitely be repurchasing this when I run out.

Blush -Stila - Peony Convertible Color
ibaluvlyprincess 7/3/2005 8:28:00 PM
I got this in a swap, and at first glace, I was disappointed. It looked very boring and dull in the pan, but I gave it a go anyways. This is one of those products that you definitely can't comment on before trying. The color really warms up my face and gives me a natural glow. It doesn't look fake or overdone. As for the texture, I don't have much experience with cream blushes, but this was easy to use. I use my fingertips and blend it in. It's really easy to blend and you'd have to use a ton of product for it to look fake. It's nearly foolproof. The key, as with any blush, is to blend.

Lip Gloss -C.O. Bigelow - Mentha Lip Shine
ibaluvlyprincess 7/2/2005 2:50:00 PM
This is definitely one of my staples. I got this free with a $10 at Bath and Body Works, but I would repurchase it at regular price ($7.50). I have the My Favorite Lip Balm also from CO Bigelow, and I love that. This has the same texture, packaging, etc except it's got a minty kick to it. It leaves a very slight tingle on the lips (not painful though!) and reminds me a bit of Bonne Bell's Enticement glosses. It's moisturizing without being greasy, and the packaging (slant tip applicator) is very convenient.
