I am on my second bottle of this. It lasts you FOREVER. For me, my last bottle lasted 2, maybe 3 years. (i don't wash my hair that often! lol) It has a nice scent (although i wonder if they've changed it, as some people are reporting "fish" smell - mine is more almond or something) Shampoo, wring out excess water, and then a pump or two onto ends of hair. Let sit while you shave. Rinse - voila, perfect healthy shiny hair. My hair has been through it all, most recently, from dark brown to platinum (holly madison of girls next door) blonde and back to brown. The only reason I was able to do that, and keep my hair LONG was because of this stuff. It saved it. It kept it as healthy as it could be, manigable and moisturized. Yes, it is expensive ($50 for a large bottle). But it is worth it and it will last you. I get it in the pump top bottles. It lasts years for me. I wouldn't dream of using any other conditioner.
This is my HG d/s mascara. If i don't want to shell out for YSL Faux Cils, i get this. It is equally good. It gives me nice, plump, false looking lashes. Apply a coat, wait 30 secs, apply another coat, repeat. Perfect. And, at about $5 a pop, you can't go wrong. (Especially if you have a buy 1 get 1 coupon from Ulta!) lol Try it. I think you'll like it.

This is my HG H/E mascara. A year or two ago i found it at costco for $16, i was SO happy. I purchased 3 tubes. It gives me perfect false lashes look. And, i happen to like the scent of it. The packaging is elegant and gold. The price is expensive, but worth it! and the product is amazing. There is a reason everyone loves it. Put on a coat, wait 30 seconds, and then put on more. Keep layering. It won't flake. You must try it.
I'm almost on my fourth container of this. I love it. I have tried other concealers and really, nothing compairs to this. I lightly dip my ring finger into the product, then tap/press into unsightly undereye circles and then i press on the secret brightening powder to (1) set the concealer and (2) brighten the entire eye. I used SC2. It is great for my med/olive skin. It is creamy, emoillent, and if used correctly it will not settle into your lines. (meaning - use sparingly!). It will last you a long time. I tried MUFE lift concealer and i will be returning it. This is just far superior imo.
I am in love with this perfume. I have gone through two bottles already. I find it sweet yet sophisticated. You only need 1, maybe 2 sprays and it will last you half the day. I also really enjoy the drydown on my skin. It smells expensive and delicious. No, not everyone will like this, but that's why perfume is so great. It smells different on everyone. D&G Light Blue smelled like acid burning my skin. And that's on the Sephora must have list, so, there you go. If anything, go to the store, get a sample or spray the tester on your wrist and then smell throughout the day. See how the scent matures. It's really beautiful.
This is for the Nivea Essential in the dark blue tube. It is the best lip balm i have ever used. I have sooo many in my house and purse. It is super moisturizing, smooth, has a nice scent, not sticky and all around just perfect. Smith's Rosebud Salve used to be my HG but i really hated putting my finger in a pot, and after awhile of having a tin and it getting banged up, the lid would be hard to open, and then i discovered this. It is just so perfect. It's in a tube. No messy fingers! My only complaint is that if you roll it a bit up, and then try to roll it back down into its tube (after you've had and used it for a bit) it doesn't go back down, so i have to push it (gently) down. This used to be Labello for anyone that needed to know.
HG gloss for me. It is a tad lighter than my natural lip shade, so this makes it the PERFECT nude lip for me. It is a nice opaque pinky-nude color. shiny and not sticky. I can wear it alone or layered over lip pencil or lipstick. For reference, my lips are the exact shade of MAC VGV. This is a must buy. It is so underrated and so awesome.
Highlighters -NARS - Highlighting Blush Powder in Albatross
i_am_a_racoon 11/1/2008 12:15:00 PM
I love this. I have it in the Orgasm/Albatross duo. (Perfect duo, imo. - if you can't find it, they also have it in the bridal palette). I use it as a highlighter on my cheekbones and sometimes as an eyeshadow. It is MAC Vanilla pigment in a pressed form. So, for days when you are traveling, take this instead of the pigment for a no-mess trip. It shows up on me as a pink-gold shimmer. I have med/olive skin.
I went to Sephora to purchase this because of all the HG hype. I swatched it on my hand and it was non-existent on my medium olive skin. (for reference, i use Mac MSF Natural in Med/dark in summer and med in winter). So, it would be perfect for fair skinned gals, but anyone with a bit of color might want to look elsewhere. Also, the shadows were sooo similar. seemed like a silly duo.
I love this stuff. I have been using it for probably 10 years. It was recommended by my dermatologist. My mom uses it as well and she has rosacea. It takes off all my makeup. I swipe a damp facecloth over my face, then squirt 2 pumps onto my hands, rub all over face, into closed eye (but you can open, it will not burn) and then take damp facecloth and wipe off. Final rinse with water and voila - clean skin. I never get pimples, although that could be more due to genes, but hey, i'll give cetaphil a bit of credit. And it's cheap! You should try it. It's a bit weird if you've never used it, a friend once likened it to the appearance and texture of....man juice....but ignore that, and just trust me that it's a great product.
So, i have this in the Orgasm/Albatross duo. I love it. I have medium olive skin and it gives me a nice, natural, subtle glow. I use it on days I want to be a bit more understated. If i were any more tan, it wouldn't really show up. It is not too sparkly, just the right amount of shimmer to give you a healthy glow. Perfect shade for most people. It is a must try.
Feline is what everyone says it is. It is a rich, full-bodied black liner. It goes on like butter. no joke. It is like blacktrack fluidline in a pencil form. Creamy, smooth and rich. isn't that what we all want? I barely had it to my eye this morning and all of a sudden the black was lining them with beautiful precision. HG indeed. it is a khol, a very creamy one at that, so be careful. Smudging will happen. i'm gonna experiment tomorrow with different ways to keep it put. you must own this. it puts all other liners to shame.
I like the thought of this product, and yes, it smells and tastes good. But that's it. This product made my lips horribly dry and very flaky the next day. The mint really stimulated my lips and made them a bright red the day i wore, but now i'm paying the consequences. The packaging is not very good either. The gloss is almost like a watery consistency and it leaks out over everything. in my makeup pouch right now, anything that has been near it is sticky. I will def. stick to my rosebud salve. even the mint salve does not eff up my lips like this did. so strange. i think i got this for free with a coupon, so that was a plus i guess?...
HG. this stuff is amazing. it makes my skin glow. it's the best scrub i've ever used and it is non-abrasive. you just need a pea size amount and you rub it in a circular motion on your face in the shower and then rinse off. i use it once a week for amazing, smooth, glowy skin. my complaint is the price. i purchased this when it was $22 and it's already $30. we'll see what happens when i run out....i may have to find something less expensive. but, if you have the cash, try it. AMAZING stuff.
Lotions/ Creams -Palmers - Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula
i_am_a_racoon 1/31/2008 4:07:00 PM
Well, after all the great reviews i decided to give this a shot. It was very moisturizing and made my skin soft, but so do a lot of my other lotions (even the VS ones, which, when DH feels my skin he goes "soooo soft") The smell was cheap and plasticy with a hint of cocoa. It reminded me of my toys when i was little. i almost couldn't take it. the fakeness of the scent was too much. i won't repurchase because of the scent, but i'll be on the lookout for a nicer scented version.
