Styling Products -Garnier - Sleek & Shine Flat Iron Perfector Straightening Mist

So, I must confess that I've only used this to curl with so far, but I really like it. I've been so happy (and so has my wallet) with the Garnier moroccan oil and this for protection. Overall I'm trying to back off on my heat use, so a light spray of this helps protect my hair. Plus, my hair that usually won't hold a curl for the life of me, has been holding curls really, really well. Very happy with this - works great on my hair.

Styling Products -L'Oreal - EverStyle Texture Series Energizing Dry Shampoo
rated 4 of 5

Bought this on a whim. I've tried a handful of other dry shampoos, and generally the aerosol ones work well, but for the number of uses I get compared to the cost, they aren't worth it. Powders last forever, but tend to over powder your hair. This is fairly cheap, and is super effective. I really like the smell, and it doesn't over power my hair or make it feel gross. TBD how many uses I'll get out of it for the price, but I'm pretty optimistic. Paid about $6, and at the very least it holds as much as some $20 bottles.

Hair -John Frieda - Luminous Color Glaze-Clear

I keep forgetting I have this stuff, and then I remember, and then I'm so excited I have this stuff! Doesn't sound very ringing, BUT, it's a great product. It takes some extra steps in the shower, and I'm always in a rush, so that's why I tend to forget about it. But after a week of bleh hair I dug this out, and it's so soft and shiny. Does not smell great, and you need to use a lot, but it's cheap, all things considered.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Pure Vitamin E Oil
rated 5 of 5

I love Vitamin E Oil. I've used rose hips and Bio Oil, but nothing works like vitamin E. I put it on after I use my Clairisonic at night, and my skin is so dreamy the next day. My face has always been ruddy and rough, but I can't stop touching it. I have very sensitive skin, but I don't break out and I use it when I do get the occasional zit, and it doesn't make them any worse. So long as I Clairisonic regularly, I have no problems with it.

Treatments -It's a 10 - Miracle Leave-In Lite
rated 4 of 5
hunnybunnyipm 3/24/2013 10:04:00 PM

I rotate in and out of using this, though it's a solid product. I'll give it credit - it's the only "spray" product I use that doesn't gunk up on me. It's also interesting because it's like a thick conditioner consistency when you open up the bottle. But it's a fabulous detangler, has a nice smell, and does feel really light and dreamy. I really like it, but for some reason I don't love it. It's like that with Pureology - works great, but something about it stops me from loving it. Get it on eBay, it's way cheaper then most other places.

Conditioner -Pureology - REVIVING RED REFLECTIVE CONDITION
rated 5 of 5

So I'm not as crazy for the Shampoo that pairs with this, but I'm in LOVE with this conditioner. Usually I use Fekkai color care, and thought this would be a filler conditioner. I mean, it makes sense that a red specific shampoo is importnat, but since conditioners "add" and don't take away, it shouldn't really matter, right? I was so wrong. My hair had been getting dry, and so I went for this line. I never thought I'd go crazy for a conditioner. My hair is so crazy soft. Today was my weekly Pureology Cleanse wash (I use it once a week, and switch between A/G color care and the Shamp'Oil), and then I used the Garnier Morrocan Oil in my hair. I can't stop touching it - it's so soft, and I credit that with the conditioner, b/c I used the other products before with my Fekkai and it was never this fabulous. So if you're a bottle red - BUY THIS! If you have to pick btwn the conditioner and the shampoo (b/c it's expensive), go for this conditioner!!

Shampoo -Pureology - REVIVING RED SHAMP'OIL
rated 3 of 5

I have mixed feelings about Pureology. It works, but I just don't like it, if that makes sense. I went for this product because I was starting to feel like my hair was drying out, and (obviously) I've got a colored red hair. Now, mine are chunky highlights that I get redone every 8-10 weeks, and I like 'em BRIGHT red. I wanted to get this to help prevent the dryness, and to hold my color. My hair is pretty short, just above my shoulders. I feel like I have to use a lot of shampoo when I use this, and if you're not careful it can get a little greasy. But, it holds my color and helps my hair stay hydrated.

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - White Sands - Liquid Texture
rated 5 of 5

So it took me awhile to use this correctly. I get the best success after I've blown out my hair, then I spritz this on the roots and put Velcro rollers in. I only do 6 - two on top, two on each side, then put my dryer on low and hold it far away and heat it up for a minute or two - and get crazy volume all day. It's natural looking and LASTS. The best part is that I only leave the rollers in for 10-15 minutes to get the body I want. I've not had success trying to use it in any other way, but it's my go-to flat head fix, and that makes it worth it. Only downside? The sprayer gunks up a lot, and/or the first squirt or two doesn't mist. Otherwise it's great.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked 2 Palette
rated 5 of 5
hunnybunnyipm 1/22/2013 10:27:00 AM

So, I had been eyeing the Naked palate's for awhile, almost buying them but not able to handle $50. Then Ulta told me that I couldn't use the $350 in Ulta points I had saved up the last 18 months for Christmas in another state, so I decided that once I made it back to what they considered my "home" state I would be using them all up and never shopping at Ulta again. Ahem. Anyways, this meant I could finally justify buying this. And WOW. I've only used a handful of the colors so far, but WOW. I use Too Face's Shadow Insurance as a primer, and this stuff stays all day. Out performs my Lancome's and Chanel's and Estee Lauder's. Plus it goes on soooo smoothly. I even adore the eye shadow brush it came with. I like to use the shadows to line my bottom lid, and it stays all day. Yes, $50 is a lot of money and I can't say you HAVE to have it, but if you can swing it I think you'll be happy.

Eyeliner -Stila - sparkle waterproof liquid eye liner
rated 4 of 5
hunnybunnyipm 1/4/2013 5:38:00 PM

Got my first one in a Birchbox and have since bought two more. I like them as "finishers." I think the colors are a little thin to stand on their own, but I like to top other non-waterproof liners with them to help "seal" them in. My eyes get watery, and these help my non-waterproof liners stay (esp my cat eyes). I do wish they had the little balls in there to help mix the product, but it still works just fine.

Styling Products -Sally Hershberger - Sally Hershberger Supreme Head Style Primer for Normal to Fine Hair
rated 4 of 5
hunnybunnyipm 1/4/2013 5:33:00 PM

I've been using the Normal to Thick Primer for awhile, but Amazon changed it to an Add-on item, and I saw great reviews on this one and decided to give it a shot. I have very fine hair, but it's thick, so I decided to try it and see. I LOVE it! Gives me WAAAAY more volume than the gold bottle. Now, and this happens with the gold bottle, you have to be careful to not over use or you'll get greasy hair, but this happens with any product. Also on the second day complaints - if I don't wash a second day, I don't use it, so maybe that's where some of their problems are? I've had great luck with it, crazy, crazy volume in my normally stick-to-my-face hair.

Lip Gloss -Jouer - Birchbox Pink
rated 4 of 5
hunnybunnyipm 12/10/2012 9:16:00 PM

UGH. Costs way too much but I loved it so much I paid for it! I got a sample of it in my Birchbox, and I really fell for it. It was a generous sample, then I lost it! So I finally broke down and bought it, because it's the best pink lip gloss. It looks neon, but goes on as a fantastic all purpose bright pink that's bright, but not too bright. It's a color that works on anyone. I'm really pale, but it works well on my Asian friends and olive skinned friends as well. It feels great. Not a fan of their weird shaped containers, or I'm missing something, and they look bigger in pictures than they are. Petty, but it was disconcerting when I got it. The gloss feels great and moisturizes, but you have to touch it up a lot hence the 4 star. But dang it I just love this color so I'll put with that major downer, because it looks that good when it's on!

Styling Products -Redken - Satinwear 02 ultimate blow-dry lotion
rated 2 of 5
hunnybunnyipm 12/7/2012 7:33:00 PM

I have never ever, ever liked a Redken product. I always buy them hoping they'll be good, and am always disappointed. Well, this is the exception to the rule. I got it because my "usual" product routine was leaving my hair bleh so I had to switch things up and grabbed this because it was on sale. Now, it took some practice and don't over use it, but it leaves my hair surprisingly soft and silky compared to other products out there. UPDATE - So, knocking it down - this product really builds up. I have to take breaks with this product. When it's fresh, it's lovely, but when it's not, it gets ucky. The Redken curse continues. Sigh.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Tough as Taupe
rated 4 of 5
hunnybunnyipm 12/3/2012 7:01:00 AM

I bought this on a lark - I've mostly moved on to department store brands but I try to keep an open mind. And wow - this had me really irritated at Chanel, Lancome, and Estee Lauder whose products DO NOT last like a $8 Maybelline. I have greasy lids. I've long ago accepted that I won't get 24 hours, or 12, or 10. BUT, with Too Faced Shadow Plus as a primer, I DO get at least 10 hours, usually more out of this shadow (that's a positive, not a negative. I melt most shadows completely away in 3 or 4 hours). If it does crease, it's minimal. And it WAY outlasts my $36 Chanel, which is my favorite color ever, so that really annoys me, haha. Plus this color is so versatile. On complaint is that it doesn't come with an applicator and you have to use the right brush to apply. I really like the Smashbox brush set I got at Ulta on Black Friday, and it puts it on beautifully. I've had less luck with other brushes - if you're not liking the application, try a few different brushes and see if that helps. Nice slice of humble pie for a department store snob :).

Treatments -Estee Lauder - Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator
rated 4 of 5
hunnybunnyipm 11/30/2012 2:56:00 PM

So, my friend was raving about this and she doesn't rave, so I bought some. A bottle later I was irritated and felt like I'd been duped. And then... I realized I hadn't been. I hate to say it, but I really like this stuff. I have very red, ruddy skin. My Clairisonic + Vitamin E Oil at night (which I sometimes swap out for other products) has helped my skin come a long way, but using this really has smoothed out the rough edges. It has just a touch of tint to help even things out, and when I stopped using it I did notice a difference. So as much as I hate to say it, because it's expensive and it gets some build up on the nose, I'll keep on buying it because I don't have bright red clown face.
