Why are there so many parabens and propylene glycol in their products??? Propylene glycol was originally designed to be ANTIFREEZE. Google it and you'll see the issues with this.

Treatments -Algenist - Concentrated Reconstructing Serum
rated 5 of 5

**Update** I stuck with the Algenist Concentrated Reconstructing Serum and the blemishes/breakout disappeared. In my previous post I was worried that I was using too much and it caused my skin to breakout. The breakout reaction only lasted a couple of days and quickly disappeared. I suppose this was just an initial reaction to using something new. So, I'm not sure if it was from using too much product or not. I did notice, however, around day 7 I didn't need as much so I was able to treat my face/neck with less serum. I am on day 13 and my skin looks clear and looks more 'refreshed'. My face and lips (when applying to face, I also rub over my lips) look slightly plumper. So far I am satisfied. I haven't noticed any change in the fine lines around my eyes, my baby crows feet or my forehead wrinkles...they are just as noticeable as they were 13 days ago. I also haven't noticed any "luminous" or lightened effect like others have experienced but I will keep updating if I notice any more significant changes. Original Post: Hi, I am new to this product and I am on day three...sadly, I have a breakout on my face and neck! I have not used any other product other than the Algenist Concentrated Reconstructing Serum (didn't want any interactions and I'd like to make sure that any improvements or reaction is a direct result of this). Am I using too much? I am using about 1ml per day for face and neck, so one drop on each of the areas: forehead, right cheek and eye area, left cheek and eye area, one on my neck, and one between my nose and chin. How much is everyone else using? Any help is appreciated. I will repost if/when my skin calms down and when I have more feedback to give. Thank you!!

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
rated 1 of 5

The DDML (as the cliniquians say) is a dated and poorly made moisturizer with longevity due to the "popular-cheerleader-girl-whose-popular-cheerleader-older-sister-says-it's-oh-so-hot!" that starts the buzz in high school. So glad to have finally laid it to rest - gals, there are SO many more quality moisturizers that have less preservatives (parabens), water and hype - and more of the good stuff that skin loves and needs (vitamins,spf,etc.). Take my advice and toss it - not a good trend to take into your post-high school years.

Lotions/ Creams -Kinerase - Daily Defense Lotion SPF 30
rated 1 of 5

I was looking forward to using this since I liked the idea of a pump (precise amount, not messy, etc.), however; after a week of using it, I was floored that this terrible product $135 and had to return it. Not only is this one of the most unpleasant smelling SPF face creams out there (VERY strong SPF/sunscreen smell), but it is super irritating to the skin and around the eye area (even if you don't apply anywhere near the orbital bone). All day I smelled it and the smell transferred to all of my touch-up brushes...plegh!

Ugh! Licorice root chocolate cigar. That is what you smell like with this perfume on. Very overpowering, not understated sexy at all...plegghh!

LOVE IT!! I line my lower lid and dab some on in my inner eye - I look fresh and fabulous! Very creamy eyeliner - doesn't pull skin. Highly recommended!!

Lipstick -NARS - Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Belle De Jour
rated 1 of 5
hunienunu 3/7/2008 10:38:00 AM

Yep, concealer lips on me too. As a liner, you can't see a line, it just makes your lips look smaller. If you fill in the lips, you look lipless. I also purchased it with the Greek Holiday gloss (Sephora Mailing). I am sending the Blah De Jour back and keeping the Greek Holiday (it's a very pretty gloss).

Original scent is back!! Truly worth 5+ lippies. I purchase this regularly and recommend it to everyone. Wonderful light botanical smell. No parabens, formaldehydes, etc. Gentle and natural exfoliating. Love it!

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Lotion
rated 5 of 5
hunienunu 6/17/2007 6:06:00 PM

Back to the basics!! I have tried so many specialty, department, & drug store moisturizers & always find myself going back to Cetaphil. Perfect for sensitive, oily, combination, dry, whatever - it will work for you. Doesn't clog pores, no smell, no parabens, wonderful during the day under sunblock & a great evening moisturizer. Great body moisturizer as well (so comforting for the feet too). Just perfect! Please note, this review is for the lotion (in the large pump) - not for the Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15. The Cetaphil Cream is excellent too - but you may find it a bit heavy. The SPF face moisturizer has not been one of my favorites in the past & I am not highly recommending the SPF face lotion (just the regular stuff! :)

no thickening, no building, no volume, nothing... Why this is the "most popular mascara" around - I will never know.
