Polishes -OPI - Gouda Gouda Two Shoes

Medium-dark rosy peach with hidden microshimmer. It's definitely a spring color, dark enough to transition cleanly out of darker, winter colors and microshimmer-y enough to transition into brighter, summer colors. Formula was excellent. Application was super easy. Unfortunately, it looks kind of "blah" with my medium-dark, warm skin tone. I would not buy again as I am not in love with it.

I like this product! My nails feel strong, and my manicure lasts very long when I use it as a base and top coat. I think $20 is pretty expensive, but I've spent more on face products that don't last as long. I will buy again, but hopefully a sale will pop up :)

Beautiful color, but it stained my nails. My nails went from smurf-y blue to green-yellow to yellow. It's been almost 2 months, and they are still stained :( Would not gift my unwanted bottle away nor recommend to others.

1 coat gives an opaque jelly-like finish. 2 coats gives a juicy creme finish. I prefer 1 coat because nails look candy apple-like. Though, this is not a candy apple red. This nail polish definitely looks retro... I imagine women running around with this polish on their nails in the 1940's. If that sounds terribly old-fashioned to you, this nail polish might not be your cup of tea. I agree with the 1st reviewer that this is a true medium red than leans warm (orange-red). If you want a jelly-like blue-red, get Butter London Come To Bed Red.

Extremely pretty white jelly nail polish that's fully opaque with no visible nail line at 4 razor thin coats and 1 thick self leveling coat (see pic of my mani above) I like that it's not super stark. It's brightening and maintains a lady-like look. It reminds me of Cinnabon frosting. Very easy formula to work with that dries quickly and self levels. I would buy this again and recommend to a frend.

This looks like an orange nightmare on me. It definitely did not agree with my skin tone. Make sure to try this on in-store before purchasing.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Xtreme Wear - Pacific Blue

Beautiful blurple. I would not say that it is cobalt blue. You can definitely see that it's purple-y. I'd liken it to a dusty electric indigo. Looks great with my warm skin tone (see pic above). Opaque in 2 coats. Clean up was easy-peasy with pure acetone before TC application. Not a fan of the smell or ingredients, but for the color, finish and price, I'll close my eyes to it.

Extremely pretty teal that looks bright in sunlight and deep in indoor lighting. It looks more green-teal than blue-teal on me, so your undertone may affect shade appearance. (I'm warm-toned medium dark.) Creme finish. Opaque in 2 coats. Most unique color from their Spring 2012 release.

Polishes -Essie - Shine of the Times

Pros include drying smoothly, complete flakie coverage in one coat and drying relatively quickly. Unfortunately, I just don't like this product. I bought this product, envisioning gorgeous, futuristic manicures only to be left with nails that look like they've been doused in acid rain. I guess this product just doesn't go well with any of the nail polishes in my relatively small collection?! The color spectrum is Ulta-bag-orange to blue-green to yellow-green. I saw none of the beautiful lilac/pink/blue portrayed in one of the shared photos for this product. The formula has either changed or I was not interpreting reviews/swatches properly or it's very possible that I don't own any polishes that elicit those lilac/pink/blue colors. Flakies get all over if you're not being particularly careful when you remove the polish. Overall, I hate it, and I would not recommend others to blind buy this product. Definitely only buy if you've tried it out already or have polishes that are known to look good with this product.

Tinted Moisturizer -TheBalm - BalmShelter Tinted Moisturizer

It does not give that "perfect" makeup look, and that's why I love it. My skin looks like my real skin just better because it evens out skin tone and balances my combination skin since it's not overly moisturizing, just moisturizing enough. SPF is a plus as it cuts down on my makeup steps. Even though it contains SPF, product is not greasy feeling or contain a sunscreen odor. This product is everything I had hoped Benefit's TM would be. Only downside is that since it is water-based, this product doesn't last very long in high humidity or if you get sweaty. I set this product with TheBalm's Sexy Mama.

This product doesn't work for my medium warm skin tone. Product appears coppery orange, which I find very strange since TheBalm products usually work perfectly with my skin tone. I think this product would work best for those with fair or dark skin tones.

Pressed Powders -TheBalm - Sexy Mama
rated 4 of 5
hummiemd 4/24/2012 11:51:00 PM

I love this product. I use this with TheBalm's TM in medium. Since it is so finely milled, I apply with a synthetic brush. If I don't use a synthetic brush, powder ends up looking overdone. If I overpowder myself, I simply use a setting spray, and I look perfect again. This is the first setting powder that I've hit pan on, which is a testament to how much I actually like it. Makeup lasts all day unless I am in extreme humidity or get very sweaty.

Eye Makeup Remover -TheBalm - Balms Away Eye Makeup Breakup
rated 1 of 5
hummiemd 4/24/2012 11:34:00 PM

I hated this product. Even if I was trying to be gentle, I still felt like I was tugging and pulling my skin while massaging product onto eye area. Even if I was careful, product still somehow got into my eyes, blurring vision and making me very uncomfortable. Even after being wiped off to the best of my ability, makeup and eye makeup remover residue still remained, so I would have to use a second cleanser to remove residue. This product does not remove waterproof mascara, which is why I got a special eye makeup remover for in the first place. This product is also rather expensive... not all of us can find TheBalm products at Marshalls or TJMaxx. I would compare this product to straight up Vaseline, which is dirt cheap compared to this product, which cost $20USD. Ponds Cold Cream is better than this product, and I don't even particularly like that product either. This product may work for some, but it did not work well for me. I personally would not recommend it to anyone.

Perfect for my warm skin tone. Literally gives me glow-from-within look without glitter/shimmer. A little goes a long way.

Moisturizers -Origins - Starting Over (with Mimosa)
rated 3 of 5
hummiemd 4/24/2012 5:07:00 PM

I only use this product at night because I use a TM with SPF during the day. Cream is not greasy feeling at all and absorbs into my combination skin rather well. Skin does feel softer and smoother after application. When I wake up in the morning, skin feels oily, but does not appear oily, so this product does not completely balance my combination skin, but it doesn't completely freak it out either. If I do not exfoliate regularly, I experience minor break outs, probably due to the increased skin cell turnover advertised by this product. I don't like the smell of this product, but the odor is not heinous. Would not mind buying again, but there are so many products out there that I'd like to try.
