Polishes -Sally Hansen - Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polish

Okay like some here have stated I too have hated SH products for the same reasons BUT these are a completely different story. Long lasting, no chipping, nice sized brush (that takes a minute to get used to) And great color payoff. I'm so impressed that I have started a small collection of these (see profile pic from L to R: Choco-Latte,Pedal to the Metal, Grass Slipper, Yellow Kitty, Calypso Blue, Commander in Chic, and Navy Baby) and will keep collecting. Note: the only color that has been a little tricky to apply for me has been Navy Baby ( thick, dark, and seems to get everywhere) but I really like the color and so I will MAKE it work. I say Go get some!
On my nails this is such a magical looking polish. To me it looks nothing like what you see in the bottle. In the bottle it looks almost beige-like but on me, I where it over and under Bare Rose, it comes out looking fairy princess-like pink with very tiny sparkles, to me the perfect affect. And like with all Orly polishes smooth no-fuss application. I would like to note that I haven't worn this polish on its own yet as it looks so beautiful when combined with Bare Rose.
I love Orly. And I love this polish! It was a nice surprise as I wasn't sure how it would show up if at all but it does in what is for me the perfect, my nails are healthy, sheer pink for my french manicures, which I've been on the hunt for, for a while. Glad I gave this one a shot. I've worn it on its own and also over Cut The Cake ( which I also Love) and this gives my nails an overall very clean and pretty affect. I like that I can build the pink factor on this if I choose. This also seems to have good staying power about 4-5 days no chipping and still very put together looking. Will want to always have a bottle of this on hand.( pun unintended ;0 )
Liquid -Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind Eraser Treatment Makeup

This is a pretty decent foundation in my opinion. However Maybelline in general can't seem to match my skintone as well as CG so wasn't too surprised when I got it home and it was too light. I purchased this in 320 Honey. I did apply this over freshly cleansed and primed skin and application was easy and coverage impressive. I think if you know Maybelline matches your skintone and you have some flaws you need covering you'd like this. What I like : the texture has a nice creamy feel and I actually like the way it feels on, the applicator to me is pretty good (I only used my fingers for a few spots) and makes this nice for travel and retouches. Another use I found for this since its too light as a foundation for me is as a highlighter over my CG tinted moisturizer. However I'm not so sure about the staying power of this, even over a primer, because it is so creamy though personally this doesn't bother me so much. Over all this is a kind of lovely product and I would repurchase to use as a highlighter though I'd much prefer it if Maybelline could get my skintone right.
I am never without a Cherry Chapstick. This is my winter liptrick: Cherry Chapstick and any Rimmel Lip Pencil. I can pretty much apply these without a mirror, its fast and easy , and best of all my lips look and feel great.
I am continually surprised at all the rave reviews of this as my experience with it has been completely different from the majority. About 6 months ago after reading all the highly positive I can't live without this reviews I was excited to give it a try. My experience : Does dry fast , shines like a clean clear pane of glass and I couldn't stop staring at the beautiful finished affect BUT then about 31/2 to 4 hours later it began chipping. Now I did not have my hands submersed in water or anything like that just your standard wash your hands hygiene so I don't get it. And it chipped in big almost nail sized chips and I could basically peel it all off. Now I have tried it with all brands of polishes from Orly to Avon to drugstore cheap but have always had the same experience no matter what I use so I just don't get it! BTW purchased this at local CVS for $8 and feel so ripped off that I have renamed it Seche Crap!
I had never bought this before and had always passed by it thinking it wouldn't do anything for me. But I've been in the market for a new and better preferably more affordable concealer and thought why not I'll give it a shot ( before this I was using Maybelline 24hr Superstay concealer in deep beige which was okay but the sponge-like wand applicator got on my nerves after a while-the coverage and consistency were good but the price was a bit steep considering you can't even get all the product out of the stupid container they put it in). Well I'm glad I did because its perfect (and I don't use that word lightly) for me. I got this in medium and the consistency is creamy smooth and application is so easy.I do use this over a primer and staying power is surprisingly good. I just love the coverage it gives over my flaws. Truly love the way it makes my skin look. Over this I use CG tinted moisturizer. I highly recommend both of these.
I had used this years ago and for some reason stopped can't remember why. Lately I had been using Maybellines Superstay 24hr foundation in HoneyBeige and Caramel - the first was too light but Caramel was too dark and mixing the 2 did not help as it came out this weird orangey shade. BTW why do so many makeup companies insist on using the word beige as a skin description. I can honestly say I've only ever seen beige carpet or beige wall paint BUT I have NEVER in my life seen a beige woman! I mean come on! But enough of that back to my review- picked this moisturizer up with the idea that I would use it on those days I wanted a light makeup application ( I don't have perfect skin and do need to cover a few flaws here and there) bought it along with CG concealer in medium (the one in the lipstick tube that I for years turned my nose up at thinking it would do nothing for me- WELL was I wrong turns out its the PERFECT concealer for me) I apply a primer over clean moisturized skin then the concealer where I need it and then CG tinted moisturizer and voila perfect face?! Could it be ? After all the money Ive been shelling out lately for foundations and their brands specialized concealers ( I had also been using a mineral foundation that on made me look orange) I mean I'm still pretty stunned because I kept passing CG up but they seem to actually get my skin color while Maybelline just does not. I am so surprised and happy with my find. I'm sticking with this routine as it doesn't break me out, doesn't make my skin itch, actually matches my skintone dead on, and is wonderfully affordable when considering that the concealer and tinted moisturizer together are the price of one foundation!
Eyeliner -Hard Candy - Walk the Line Liquid Eyeliner

I've been wearing this for a week now trying to perfect my application, working really hard to get this to work for me but it just didn't. Pro's:Asphalt is black leather black - loved the color of this! The design is visually how I wish all my makeup containers/tubes were designed - there's this lovely bird that looks hand drawn on mine in black along with all these lace looking scrawls - the effect is a little Emo, a little Rock and Roll and all quite lovely. Noticed this came in a variety of colors. The applicator size is just right. Con's:The formula of this was a bit runny so I seemed to get this everywhere no matter how hard I tried to control it. Maybe it was just the one I got? Or maybe just this color? Anyway I couldn't seem to control this as well as I would've liked. After a few hours I noticed these black smudges under my eyes. Not cool - I do not have time to keep retouching my eyeliner. I want to put it on and be assured that it will stay where I put it until I'm ready to take it off. So the con's are too big for me to let slide and I would not repurchase.
Mascara -Hard Candy - Lash Call Lengthening Mascara

I've been using this for a week now and here's what I've found: Pro's: The color After Hours is black leather black It stayed where I put it It made my eyes pop Seriously cute packaging Con's: It stayed where I put it - making it almost impossible for me to fix any slips without having to do my eye all over again. The brush is ridiculously long - designed for a cyclops , maybe? This was all around hard to control and would be greatly improved by a smaller brush and slightly thicker formula. I hope this is not designed just for teens, accounting for the not quite thought all the way through quality and design? I don't know but that would be foolish of them to exclude a whole demographic. As a woman I have fun putting make up on and love trying new products, age regardless. Would not repurchase.
This lipstick exceeded my expectations.Yesterday I had come across this color by accident (I was actually looking at the pinks)and am so glad I took a chance with it. To my eye it is exactly the color shown on the tube, at least on me anyway-olive tan with warm undertones. For me to find a red that goes so perfect with my complexion is a miracle-and at this price less than $5- a little amazing. I love the consistency of this, its thick but not too thick and not at all waxy. It even has a subtle scent-cinnamon maybe-not sure but its pleasant nothing over powering. Just love the way this feels and looks. Lucked out when I bought this because it came with a bonus lip pencil in Red Dynamite( which I will leave a review for) I was in such a crummy mood yesterday but when I put this on all I could do was smile. For me there is something about the perfect red lipstick that just inspires me to be playful and anything but boring and glum. I think this shade would look wonderful on quite a range of skin tones, so if your in the market for a new red give this one a chance. I'm so glad I did and now I never want to be without it.
Lipstick -Maybelline - Moisture Extreme lipstick in Sweet Ginger
htebazile 12/1/2007 11:03:00 AM
I've actually almost finished this whole tube, just a little nub is left. And as sad as this may sound I don't think I've ever finished a whole tube of lipstick before. To think that its a lipstick by Maybelline (who I've had a love/hate relationship with for so many years) that will be the first is actually very surprising to me! So many nice things about this I think I'll start with the smell, which I love( no taste though ) to me its like a sweet cinnamon'y smell, very fresh. Now the color, on my skin tone (which is light tan with olive undertones) is like a soft berry pink with a little brown thrown in for good measure and a sugary-like glaze coats the whole affect. The moisture I get from this is great, leaving my lips feeling refreshed and the lasting power on this is better than average. Can you tell how much I love this tube? I will soooo repurchase this when I'm done. =()
Eye Shadow -Max Factor - Eyeshadow Trio in Premiere Pink
htebazile 12/1/2007 10:10:00 AM
I love these pinks! To me in the package they look more like shades of purple but they go on pink, thank goodness cause definitely not a purple eyeshadow wearer (just never looks "right" on me). Anyway love all three shades equally. They look very striking on my eyes. When I apply eye shadow I usually tap off excess before applying but with these colors I've found they go on better if I don't (I do take a blush brush and swipe each lid once when done). I also blend all three colors together and use as a blush. I love this affect. So basically I've stumbled onto two products in one. Love when that happens! =) And will buy again! Also wanted to mention that I got this in Beach Brown. Such a beautiful trio. Very pretty nude-like colors for my eyes and works as a subtle bronzer on my cheeks. Another winner!
Finally found the perfect clear mascara! I like the shape of the brush, for me it holds and defines my curl. Use this for both my lashes and brows and love the over all "put together" affect without having to worry about the smudging, etc. Most important though this does not burn my eyes or flake off as I've experienced with other clear mascaras. I do make sure to clean the wand off on a tissue before inserting back into the tube as I don't want to mix my other eye makeups into it. Will always have a tube of this on hand! : )
This product really surprised me (got Honey Shimmer) because I bought it just thinking it'd be a great sheer color for my eyes but I've ended up using it in other ways as well. For me foundation's a must so already having that on I apply this all over my lids and under my eyes, it acts as the perfect concealer for me opening up my eyes and lightning my slightly "raccoonish" under eye area (fyi: I have light tan skin tone in the winter with olive undertones) and the cooling affect feels refreshing as my eyes are slightly swollen in the mornings. Now for the other uses: I dab a little under my bottom lip just in the center and instantly my bottom lip looks fuller. Also I apply some in the groove between my nose and the center of my upper lip and then in my laugh lines (this stuff make them less noticeable) and around the bottom corners of my nose smoothing it up beside the sides of my nose and then a tiny bit down the center of my nose(making my nose appear slightly narrower). Yes this stuff has "sparkllies" in it but on my skin it doesn't look glittery or anything (wouldn't like it if it did). The whole affect for me is just a very fresh clean face. More pulled together. This little jar is amazing I can't believe all the things I can do with it! I probably won't be able to use it in the summer as my skin gets tanner and I think its kinda weird that they only make this in two colors BUT for now I love it and don't want to do my makeup without it. : )
