Lip Gloss -Too Faced - Glamour Gloss - Strange Love
hsmalik 11/15/2012 8:29:00 PM
Received this in swap and never tried it. Almost a year later and I finally decided to try it. It's a perfect nude colour for me and my only regret is letting it sit on my dresser for so long unused. I've never been a fan of nudes but this pinky mocha colour is perfect for my C40 skintone! Really does add glamour to your face. Love it!

Treatments (Eye) -L'Occitane - Immortelle Eye Balm
hsmalik 11/11/2012 4:03:00 PM
I bought this because a friend of mine works at L'Occitane and I was in the market for an eye cream. It is retailed at $38 US, but I got it for 40% off. This is possibly the most ineffective eye cream there is. I've been using it since July, applying every night before bed. I have seen ZERO results. Yes, it has pretty packaging and smells nice, but for what it claims to do, which is fight wrinkles, combat dark circles, and reduce puffiness/tiredness around the eyes, I can say with 100% certainty that it does none of those things. I continue to use it only because I paid money for it, but I'm looking forward to when it's finished and I can throw it out. Still on the lookout for a great eye cream for fine lines!

Lipstick -Make Up For Ever - Rouge Artist Intense #36
hsmalik 11/11/2012 3:52:00 PM
I received a mini version of this lipstick free from Sephora, and first thing I'll say is it has lasted me well over a year, and I still have plenty left! Granted, I don't wear it every day, I've worn it less than 10 times probably but it has great longevity and lasting power! This colour is EXQUISITE. It is a vibrant, loud fuschia pink that looks amazing with my skin (MAC C40). It is a great bold look on it's own. I use a cheap drugstore pink lip liner with it and it doesn't budge. Every time I've worn it, I've gotten multiple compliments. If you're not keen on bright lip colours but are looking to try them out then I don't recommend this for you at all. It is way too bold to be your first foray into bright lipsticks. Some cons: This isn't a universally flattering shade. My sister, who is slightly lighter than I am, does not look good in this shade at all. This is why I urge you to try it on in store before purchasing because it very well could look terrible on you. For those of us that are lucky enough to pull it off, it is a beautiful shade and my favourite pink lippie. The packing leaves something to be desired. The cap isn't secure and if you leave it in your bag, it could fall off (mine did once and I had a pink mess in my bag!). For the price, I think it's definitely a bargain because one lipstick will last you absolutely ages and the pigmentation is amazing. As soon as my mini runs out, I am immediately buying the full version!

Lipstick -Clinique - Almost Lipstick - Black Honey
hsmalik 9/24/2012 10:59:00 PM
I just got this in a swap today and already love the product! I am all about MLBB kind of colours. MLBB is different for everyone, and for me I like something slightly darker and more pigmented than my lip colour. This is a perfect plummy/wine coloured lip stain that is very subtle but does wonders for my face overall. A lot of users say it is quite drying and I don't think it is personally. It's definitely not creamy, but it doesn't dry my lips out either. I think this could definitely become a HG product for me! I will say that there are probably cheaper alternatives than this, I just haven't come across any because I haven't looked. I love this colour a lot and it is definitely not one of a kind, it's just the first one I've encountered, so some lippie deductions for that!

Lipstick -Lola Cosmetics - Lip Sheer in Sal
hsmalik 8/18/2012 12:04:00 AM
I LOVE this lip sheer! I'm not sure how much it costs/where to buy it since I received it as an extra in a swap. At first I thought it was way too dark and didn't like it. I don't know what changed but the second time I tried it I just LOVED it. It's such a great purple/brown. Kind of hard to describe the color. It works as kind of a subtle stain. Very moisturising and the color is actually very subtle so I apply it as lip balm sometimes. It is certainly buildable. The packaging is super cute too, as are all of Lola packaging. I don't know if mine is a mini or what but its smaller than my other Lola lippies. I'm not sure where to repurchase and I'm dreading the day I run out of this because it is an absolute HG staple lip product for me. I think it's a universally flattering shade that would look good on all skintones, and is very versatile and can be worn a number of different ways from subtle to out there vampy.

Primer/ Corrector -Ulta - Professional Foundation Primer
hsmalik 11/5/2010 1:23:00 AM
This is a terrific primer, and a cheaper alternative to Smashbox. Ulta had a sale going, buy one get one free, so I bought their matte primer and colour correcting primer. I've only used the matte one so far and it's great! The consistency is a very smooth, soft gel that makes my skin feel feathery light and soooo soft to the touch. It does a great job of controlling oil throughout the day, and this is coming from someone with EXTREMELY oily skin! Usually I have to reapply foundation powder like every half hour because my skin is just that shiny. This primer is great for oil control, I am in love with the texture and the finish it gives my skin, and for $22, it's not bad! Even better that I got 2 for the price of one. Could you find a cheaper alternative? Definitely. It has the same texture as Monistat, but I've never tried that as a primer. I'm not saying it's the best or cheapest choice, but it is definitely comparable to more expensive brands, and it holds up amazingly for me. Would definitely buy this again, but I've got enough to last me a long while!

Eyes -MAC - Paint Pot in Bare Study
hsmalik 10/16/2010 5:38:00 PM
LOVE it! Seriously can't think of any real complaints. It is the most amazing primer I've ever used, and the only one I will ever use. I love it especially compared to UDPP. It is a thicker formula, more control, packaging makes a hell of a lot more sense than UDPP's. You get a LOT of product for your money, because you only use the smallest amount each time. This colour specifically I wouldn't recommend if you're trying to work with matte shadows as it is a very shimmery colour. It's beautiful on it's own, and it is an amazing primer underneath eyeshadows. My eyeshadows last 12+ hours with this underneath. TOTALLY recommend it.

Lipstick -Milani - Orange-Gina 24
hsmalik 10/16/2010 5:35:00 PM
This is such a gorgeous, warm orange colour. Unlike Milani's Mandarin (which I also ADORE), this is less bright and more warm, and also very shimmery. I'd say it's a very close match to Shiseido's Perfect Rouge in Day Lily. It is definitely a bold colour, as most orange lipsticks are, but it's still pretty safe compared to the other oranges out there. It is a beautiful, light orange and I would definitely buy this again!

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Lipstick in Peach Fuzz
hsmalik 10/16/2010 5:31:00 PM
love love love this colour! I'm in love with coral/orange lipsticks, and this is a great nude-ish colour to pair with smokey eyes. It is subtle, and the only coral-nude I've come across. Usually nudes are beige or pinky, but this is just gorgeous, makes your lips tingle, and paired with a gloss would look perfect. Docked one lippie because the packaging is pretty boring and this may be a little drying to the lips.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Colour Riche in Fairest Nude
hsmalik 10/16/2010 5:28:00 PM
Just bought this yesterday and I really love the colour! I have to say though, it's not nude in the traditional sense, where it's close to your skin colour. It's more pigmented, kind of beigy/coral. That said, it is still pretty nude and a gorgeous colour, something I would pair with a smokey eye (I did last night, in fact!). I really liked it with NYX's Frosted Beige lip gloss on top, it created the perfect nude lip! Overall great colour, would definitely buy again. Just a tad drying however, and the packaging is nothing special to look at, so I deducted one lippie for those minor things.
