Makeup Brushes -Urban Decay - Good Karma Optical Blurring Brush
rated 5 of 5
hotpink 11/4/2012 3:07:00 AM

I like this much more than the flat foundation brushes or stipple brushes. This is smaller than I expected but still works great to quickly apply and blend foundation. I think the smaller size is better for around the eyes and nose anyway. I've only used this with MAC select SPF liquid foundation. Finish is flawless and no streaks as I do notice with the other brushes I mentioned above. Great price and I got it during UD f&f. I'm glad I bit the bullet and got it never having owned any UD brushes before. Highly rec. I'll update if it sheds excessively.

Primer/ Corrector -Urban Decay - De-Slick Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray
rated 4 of 5
hotpink 11/2/2012 2:02:00 PM

Started with the travel size which is overpriced. But I felt I had real results so I bought the XL size for only $18 online. This really seems to keep oil at bay. I'm very oily in my tzone and can tell its not as shiny and I'm not blotting til later in the day if at all. Works best if I use before and after foundation.

Blush -MAC - Sheertone in Pinch O'Peach
rated 5 of 5

My HG.. I'm Asian. Very yellow toned. NC30/35 depending on the season and this always works for me. I don't know why I try other blushes. I always end up returning to this. Have repurchased 2x and thought it deserved a review

Lipstick -MAC - Lustering
rated 5 of 5
hotpink 1/28/2011 4:45:00 AM

This is a happy, bright, clearly bright pink color on me. It's intimidating in the tube because I never ever wear brights. I like that you can build layers to get a truer pink color. It's also nice that one swipe will just give a sheer pop of color. The versatility is admirable. I got this through B2M because I figured if I didn't love it, I wasn't really out any $. I tried it on with Soar liner...great combo IMO. The Soar tones it down just a tad, making it wearable for me. I put on about 3 coats, the color was bright but the longer I wore it, I don't know what happened but it sort of morphed into an appropriate color for me. Price: I think MAC lipstics are quite affordable for the quality. The Lustre formula is my favorite. Packaging: I kind of wish they'd go back to the original tubes. I'm getting tired of the bullets Would I buy again? YES!

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - More Mimosa (Beauty Rush gloss)
rated 4 of 5
hotpink 1/21/2011 2:52:00 AM

I believe More Mimosa is a new color. In the tube it looks like a pale peach with white shimmer. On the lips it is a very sheer peach with slight shimmer. It pales out the lips a bit (mine are pigmented/mauvey). It is almost clear but there is something about it that makes it look sort of milky on the lips. This is a good thing though. The shimmer is so subtle in this gloss. It is almost non existent so I was slightly disappointed. It also smells like children's chewable tylenol. A orange/vanilla type of scent. I got this with the 4/$20 deal but had a $10 coupon so it was a great bargain. If I could get it again for that price I would but I wouldn't pay more than that. I think it's pretty for daytime, especially if you are just applying gloss on the go. It's so sheer you don't need a mirror.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Brule
rated 5 of 5
hotpink 1/21/2011 2:46:00 AM

this is my go to, everyday highlight color. it's excellent for daytime (i use shroom at night because it has some shimmer). great thing about brule is you can use it to clean up messes, use it to blend things out very well. and it's just light enough to add a highlight without being shockingly white on my NC30/35 skin. a little pricey for such a basic color but i B2M for it =)

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Lipgloss in Hot Cocoanut
rated 1 of 5
hotpink 1/10/2011 8:52:00 AM

I want to give this 0 lippies really badly! I'll give it 1 though because the color was not horrendous. The scent and flavor, however, was extremely disgusting. I'm not trying to be dramatic, really I'm not. This smelled so strongly of sour chocolate and coconut that I could not even wear it. It smelled completely rancid. I usually would just suck it up and loose the $5 but I was actually upset and felt deceived by VS for some reason so I exchanged it. Reviews are so positive...maybe I just got a bad batch?

Eye Shadow -Stila - Convertible Eye Color in Stone
rated 5 of 5
hotpink 12/30/2010 6:26:00 AM

Let me start by saying I got these for $5 during a beautycrunch sale. I probably would not pay full price because unfortunately, they are pretty pricey. That said, I LOVE the concept of this product. Liner, smudger, and shadow all in one pencil...ingenious! I have Teak and Stone and Stone is definitely my favorite of the two. The liner is a deep brown with purple tones that makes it almost black. I like that the pencil is soft and easily smudgeable (if that's a word). I rarely use the shadow but it works in a pinch. It's a taupe frost with a bit of metallic sheen. I like it on the lid. If I could get these at $5 again, I'd buy all the colors! Til then, I may have to look for an alternative. But regardless of price, they are an excellent product.

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush lip gloss in Fuzzy Navel
rated 5 of 5
hotpink 12/30/2010 6:21:00 AM

I really love this gloss. I worked in hospitals so there is little time to do any touch ups and I can rarely get to a mirrow. Sometimes I wanted something more than plain lip balm to give me a little perk throughout the day. This is my favorite Beauty Rush gloss. It's an extremely sheer peachy coral shade. I have pigmented lips so this doesn't show up too much but it's definitely enough to give my whole face a glow...don't know how it does that. It smells like sweet peaches and is not fake or cloying. The name is also fitting because I use this when I want a beauty touch up in a rush ;) I highly recommend.

Lotions/ Creams -Tree Hut - Tahitian Grass body butter
rated 4 of 5
hotpink 10/7/2010 2:44:00 AM

This product is pretty fantastic for the price I paid. I got 4 full size Tree Hut body butters for just about $13 at Costco. Other scents were Original Shea, Kukui, and Coconut Lime. Tahitian Grass smells so light and clean. It reminds me of a cucumber product I had before but I can't really put my finger on it. I just know that everytime I reach for this body butter, I think of cucumbers and that is totally fine by me. The texture leaves something to be desired. It's not very smooth, it sort of...well curdled is the only word I can really come up with. But once you start smoothing it on, it's fine. This is much lighter than the TBS body butters I have used and it does not fully sink into the skin the way TBS did but does it's job in moisturizing my skin. Granted, there is a bit of film left on my skin but I would prefer that over dry, itchy, red skin. This ended up being under $3 per piece so i am not going to complain one bit. If you can get this at Costco, it's well worth it!

Lip Liners -Prestige - Cameo
rated 5 of 5
hotpink 6/23/2010 2:48:00 AM

this is a brownish pink...it's mostly pink on my so i don't want to say it's a pinky brown. i am NC30/35, very yellowy undertones. this is pretty neutral, warm enough that it doesn't clash with my skintone. it compares most closely to MAC Whirl, just a tad browner. these are $3.25 at rite aid and i got them BOGO 1/2 off so it was a very good deal. i would buy even without a sale. what i appreciate most about this is that it has made my Strawberry Blonde lipstick wearable. even though Whirl is very close, it was too pink for SB so this is is a winner in my book because I've always wanted to wear SB!

Polishes -Revlon - Tropical Temptation
rated 3 of 5
hotpink 6/19/2010 7:08:00 AM

This is very streaky. Maybe it was the bottle I got but the finish on this was an absolute 0 compared to my other Revlon polishes...and I LOVE Revlon polishes. The color was a little bit too light for me and I've got a medium golden skintone (NC30/35). I would probably have kept it and made it work because the color is very pretty even though lighter than I thought...but the streaky finish was enough for me to bring it back to exchange for another color.

Blush -MAC - Fun & Games - Hello Kitty [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
hotpink 2/19/2009 1:48:00 AM

I've used this 2x so far and I'm really liking it. I'm NC30 and it takes at least 2 layers for this to show up on me but I like it because it gives just a slight flush to my cheeks. It also doesn't require much blending since it's so light so it's not something that screams "i have blush on"....which is something I needed because I have plenty of blushes that are bright. I don't notice the sheen too much though, I kind of hoped it would be more prominent. I LOVE Hello Kitty but I don't think the packaging does her justice ; ) I actually think it borders on tacky (hides) but since it's Hello Kitty, I had to buy a couple of items. UPDATE: Upgraded to 5 lippies because this is my HG concealer so far...even thought it's technically not a concealer.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Satin Taupe
rated 4 of 5
hotpink 1/1/2009 5:34:00 AM

Great color for everyday. I use it to just above my crease then blend blend blend. It's a pretty neutral color so it's good for work. When blended well, it's not too dark or bold. I like the smooth texture. I use UDPP underneath all my shadows so the true color shows...otherwise this can look muddy on my yellow toned skin. Overall, this is probably a good staple in anyones e/s collection.

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector
rated 4 of 5
hotpink 1/1/2009 5:30:00 AM

I bought this due to the great reviews I read here and I'm so glad I did. I bought Light Peach and I am NC30/35. It really covers up my dark circles. I have brown sort of grayish circles, not purple at all. At first I didn't think it was that big of a difference but you can really tell in pictures, it's like I don't have circles at all! I think the price is way too high but maybe I'm a cheapo. Next time I'm at CCO I'll keep an eye out for this. If you have any doubts, erase them. This stuff is fantastic and even if you have to pay full price, it will be worth it.
