Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Claires - Nail Polish - Electric
rated 2 of 5
hotchica104 4/10/2007 10:03:00 PM

I tried several of Claire's nail polishes about a week ago. I bought 3 neon colors because I loved the shades and they were pretty inexpensive. However, the polish doesn't stay on. I find it chips within one day, and starts to peel and flake off after a few days. The colors are pretty, but the quality of the polishes are very poor. I'm very disappointed with Claire's and I wish I could return all of them for a refund. Don't waste your money unless you want to be painting your nails every day!

Polishes -OPI - Charged Up Cherry
rated 4 of 5
hotchica104 8/13/2006 12:03:00 AM

I found this polish on sale along with Electric Eel at Ulta today. Charged-Up Cherry is a bright neon-pink shade of polish that is looking fabulous on my toes right now. This color reminds me of two neon polishes I once had. It looks almost identical to Maybelline's Colorama polish in Coral Reef, and of Finger Paints Psychedelic enamel from Sally Beauty Supply. The application was good overall. It wasn't streaky or clumpy like the two other brands I mentioned. Next week, I'll try it on my fingers because they are painted with Electric Eel right now. This is an awesome shade of polish and I'll be purchasing again!

Polishes -OPI - Electric Eel
rated 4 of 5
hotchica104 8/12/2006 11:56:00 PM

I happened to find this polish in a promotional package that was on sale at Ulta today. Electric Eel is a light green color that flashes a peachy-gold color when it's exposed to light. With one coat, it's very sheer, but I put on two more coats and it is now an almost opaque lime-green shade. Overall, it looks like the perfect green shade of polish for me. I hadn't worn green polish in over 4 years until I found this. Before Electric Eel, I had three old green enamels. One was a pale minty green and the others were puke (yuck) green and Christmas-tree forest green. This is a really cool polish color and I'll buy it again if it gets old or if I run out.

Eye Shadow -Naturistics - Chrome Eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5
hotchica104 6/27/2006 7:41:00 PM

I also purchased this product at a 99-cents-only store near my hometown. This eyeshadow is pretty cool! It also looks chromish on my eyelids, and I've found that it looks a lot different from my usual light pink eyeshadow, and I love that! It also wears well, staying intact until I take it off at night with makeup remover. I'll be buying one in every color!

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - The Original One Minute Manicure
rated 3 of 5
hotchica104 6/27/2006 7:31:00 PM

I like this scrub. It smells divine, like peppermint. Also, it works wonderfully on my hands, body, and feet. Overall, I haven't had problems with it turning rancid or the product becoming slippery. The only reason why I won't repurchase this product is because it's really expensive for a regular-size tube of scrub. At Trade Secret, it was $15.00, and that's really pricey. I guess I'll try to make my own scrub by mixing sugar with olive oil and peppermint extract, or I might go back to Sally Hansen's scrubs, which work just as well as this overpriced product.

Eyeliner -Naturistics - Liquid Liner in Chrome
rated 5 of 5
hotchica104 6/27/2006 7:25:00 PM

I love this eye liner. I haven't wore eyeliner in a few years when I got it, but my local Walmart had a ton of them on sale at only 10 cents each! What a bargain, so I decided to try them again. The Chrome really looks like liquid foil on top of my eyes and it also has good lasting power, since I put it on this morning and I don't have to reapply it now. I also have it in Gunmetal and Sapphire, and I think I might get a gold one if they sell that shade. I'll never use another eyeliner other than this (except for when I need a brown or black one).

Treatments -Creative Nail Design - Solar Balm
rated 4 of 5
hotchica104 6/26/2006 11:09:00 PM

I like this product, also. Solar Balm is basically portable Solar Oil, as another reviewer reported. When I travel, cuticle oils can be a little messy, but I have found that this product works just as good as Solar Oil. It makes my cuticles softer, prevents nasty hangnails, and I think it also conditions the nails too. A few downsides are that the pot that the product comes in is really tiny and it's a little pricey. Other than that, this product is excellent and I will be purchasing again.

Polishes -OPI - Girls Love Pink
rated 5 of 5
hotchica104 6/26/2006 10:37:00 PM

I got this poilsh for free because I got a voucher to receive it at no cost from the Marie Claire magazine. Overall, Girls Love Pink is a really hot color! In the bottle, it looks like a medium pink color with tons of shimmer and microglitter in it. On my nails, it looks like a semi-sheer medium pink that's really sparkly and shiny after 2 coats. Several weeks ago, I wore it on my toenails and I couldn't stop looking at them! They shone like diamonds in the sun. I'll definitely buy this color again because it's very trendy and flattering!

Lotions/ Creams -Sally Hansen - Hand, Nails & Cuticle Cream
rated 5 of 5
hotchica104 6/23/2006 12:09:00 PM

This stuff is a true winner. It smells awesome, like orange Pez candy, but boy does it work. I find it to be really moisturizing and not greasy at all. I will definitely buy again if I run out.

Lip Gloss -OPI - Sheer Romance Lip Sheers -Sheer Joy
rated 4 of 5
hotchica104 6/22/2006 9:57:00 PM

I really like this lip gloss. I received it free with my new OPI Two Tones Kit yesterday that was on Trade Secret's clearance rack. Overall, it's a pretty mauvish-pink color that's really flattering on me. It lasts for a few hours before fading, which is impressive. My only complaint about this product is that it seems a little sticky when it's on. However, the stickiness isn't bad, and the lipgloss smells a little like vanilla. I will buy this again if I run out.

Tools -Sally Hansen - 5 Minute FRENCH Manicure Pen Kit
rated 1 of 5
hotchica104 6/22/2006 9:25:00 PM

I also was pretty disappointed with this product. I never liked Sally Hansen's old kit, but I thought this kit would be better. Sadly, it wasn't. After only a few uses, the bristles of the pen became frayed and soon, the pen was hard to use. The pen recently dried up, and I had to toss it in the trash after a short time. The pink polish and the top coat weren't very good either. They both became gooey and thick after just a few months. The guide stickers were no good, though. I wasn't able to get one nail to come out nice with them. As for French manicure kits, the one I like better is the OPI Two Tones Kit, which I bought on sale at Trade Secret yesterday. I did both my fingernails and toenails with their white and pink polish. I got very good results with it. Tip guide stickers that actually work are the ones included in the OPI Two Tones Kit, and the ones by Nailene, which you can find for very cheap at Walmart.

Hair Removal -Nair - lotion hair remover
rated 1 of 5
hotchica104 6/11/2006 12:24:00 AM

I would definitely NOT use this product if I didn't want to, but my mom makes me use it. And I don't like Nair products. They smell bad, have strong chemicals in them, and they seem a bit toxic. This lotion does remove hair from under my arms, but they make my underarms burn and sting really bad. It feels like a bee has stung them. And I've got big red welts in my armpits from this product, and that means I may be allergic to the product or I could be having a sensitivity to one of its ingredients. If I could throw both of those Nair bottles in the bathroom away, I certainly would do it. But I can't because if my mom finds them in the garbage, she would practically kill me.

Polishes -Maybelline - Colorama 5 Day Nail Color - Plum Sparkle
rated 5 of 5
hotchica104 3/28/2006 10:40:00 PM

This is such a pretty color. Plum Sparkle is a purple-pink color mixed with holographic rainbow-colored glitter. I didn't have a major problem with chipping like another reviewer reported. It stayed on for about 6 days before I saw some tiny chips at the tip areas. And I didn't use a top coat, but I used OPI's base coat. Colorama polishes are usually a steal where I live, at one to two dollars in stores like Walmart. I like this brand better than OPI, and I'll be repurchasing.

Treatments -Burt's Bees - Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream
rated 4 of 5
hotchica104 3/6/2006 12:07:00 AM

I really like this cuticle cream. It's thick, and it also smells delish. It makes my cuticles soft and has stopped them from peeling off and bleeding, which was very painful. I think it needs better packaging though. It comes in a little tin, but you have to practically 'dig' the stuff out of the tin. I think it should be in a tube, or in a chap stick form. Other than that, this cream is very good quality and it works very well. Good work, Burt's Bees.

Treatments -Burt's Bees - Herbal Blemish Stick
rated 4 of 5
hotchica104 2/16/2006 12:49:00 AM

I also am a fan of the Herbal Blemish Stick. I had HORRIBLE acne and I was embarrassed to go out in public looking like a blotchy blowfish. Also, I have a horrible habit of popping and picking at my zits. I know I really shouldn't be doing that. The stick makes my face look somewhat better, I don't see as many zits on my face now. My mom even commented on how much better my face looks. I haven't had any problems with the product leaking out of the tube, as another reviewer said. I actually like the smell of the product, which is a cross between licorice and peppermint. When I run out, I'll be buying it again.
