Bronzers -NYX - Matte Bronzer
rated 1 of 5

I purchased the 2 darkest shades (04 and 05) and I hated the way this felt and looked on my skin. It was gritty, drying and muddy looking. For the hype this product receives I had higher expectations.

Treatments (Eye) -Clinique - All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye Massage
rated 5 of 5
hotAsFiya 10/12/2011 10:53:00 AM

My eyes are just like the reviewer below. Eye creams end up doing nothing but causing irritation and swollen eyes for me. The only 2 things that I know for sure have worked is the original All About Eyes in the jar, and MACs Fast Response Cream. Even the All About Eyes Rich irritated me to no end. I am very very pleased with this product as it does what it claims. My main concern is always having puffy and swollen eyes and this totally soothes them and brings the puffiness down. The actual roller ball feels cold which gives a very cooling sensation upon application. I really love that! And I've had absolutely ZERO irritation from this product! This is going to be a staple for sure!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Waterproof Voluminous Carbon Black
rated 2 of 5
hotAsFiya 8/12/2011 3:41:00 PM

I love the original formula but like most people, it would travel and get right under my eyes giving me raccoon eyes. I figured since I love the original formula it'd be only natural that I'd love even more the waterproof formula. I was actually rather disappointed in it. It's soooo mediocre in terms of the way it applies and the "carbon black" effect it gives. It's just not there. This reminds me more of the original voluminous rather than the carbon black. It just adds a little length and volume but definitely not like the original carbon black formula. Will not repurchase.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero
rated 5 of 5
hotAsFiya 3/26/2011 2:57:00 PM

I've been debating for over year (yes, a year) whether to get this one or MUFE's black eyeliner, both which are equally raved about. One of the reasons I never caved in was because I use my MAC discount and have been okay using MAC's graphblack as well as Engraved. However, they both give me a greenish cast and don't last too long. I've been searching for a true black eyeliner that didn't require the work and precision of a gel liner. I absolutely love this and will continue to purchase it. It's super smooth and glides on your lid. It didn't smudge terribly and when I woke up the next day I still had some liner despite me washing my face. I liked that! And my biggest plus is that it didn't irritate my eyes one bit. Every other single black liner I've tried, including irritates me to some level. MUFE's was probably one of the worst on my eyes. Will repurchase and highly recommend. I'm even excited to try out other colors!

Scrubs -Olay - Definity Pore Redefining Scrub
rated 2 of 5
hotAsFiya 3/8/2011 9:07:00 PM

Have been dying to try this scrub for months. My skin, for some reason, has hated just about every single scrub I've tried. I finally caved in and purchased this. I loved the genius bottle and the scent. When I first used it I noticed my pores appeared tighter so that was a plus. But I noticed throughout the rest of the day my skin became an oil slick...I looked very greasy and not really the "glowy" kind. I was then disappointed to wake up to some mild irritation bumps and blotchy skin. I think my skin overall refuses to like any type of scrubbing particles. Will not repurchase.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Tempting (LUSTRE)
rated 5 of 5
hotAsFiya 3/1/2011 3:55:00 PM

Amazing color! Been wearing this almost every day. I use it over my cream color base for the texture to sorta "stick" to my lid and it gives me a very sexy semi-smokey eye suitable for daytime wear. It's not overly shimmer or glittery which is always a plus. Highly recommend!

Lipstick -MAC - Amplified Creme - Morange
rated 5 of 5
hotAsFiya 2/25/2011 12:52:00 PM

I was very apprehensive about the color but like any true beauty addict who follows trend, I had to get it. Bright oranges and pinks are in. This color is absolutely amazing. It goes well with any skintone but particularly if you are tan or dark skinned. I am an NC45, very golden dark complexion and I've been wearing this almost every day by simply dabbing it lightly on my lips. It wakes my entire face up! I plan on wearing it fully for nights out but so far it's working very well as an every day, wake me up color. I also love the amplified consistency which makes it very cream and easy to spread on the lips. Highly recommend!

Mascara -MAC - Haute & Naughty Lash
rated 5 of 5
hotAsFiya 2/6/2011 4:09:00 PM

I absolutely love the packaging and the whole idea behind these 2 mascaras. I prefer the "naughty" side...it's everything I wanted Diorshow to be without the price tag. The formula actually does something to my lashes and it's not nearly as drying as diorshow. It can get a little spidery so you have to be careful with how many coats you apply. One of my favorite mascaras for gorgeous, over the top, ginormous lashes!

Liquid -MAC - Pro Longwear Foundation
rated 1 of 5
hotAsFiya 2/1/2011 10:41:00 AM

It seems this is one of the few mac foundations that has a decent rating and is well liked here on MUA. However, my experience with this is not the same as most. I personally dislike this foundation. The shades for darker skin tones seem to be a bit off from their other foundation matches...a bit on the ruddy side, while the warm shades have way too much yellow in them. Then the finish is glossy, at least on me it is. If you are looking for a matte, polished look, unless you top this with powder, this alone will not do. I also found it extremely thick. And on top of it all, every single time I've used this I have broken out in ugly pimples. Dislike.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies
rated 2 of 5
hotAsFiya 1/20/2011 9:01:00 PM

This gets a lot of raves and as usual I fall prey to these glowing reviews. I personally didn't think it was nothing more than mediocre. Actually I am giving it a lower score because the results after 2 days of straight use were super irritated lids. I mean they were painful for days! The mascara itself is okay, but if you are one of those obsessive combers...like I am, this will clump something crazy on you. That's because the formula itself has what feels like that fiber extending crap ...forgot the name. In any case, it clumps like crazy. If you can work around it and don't have sensitive eyes, this mascara might work for you. Otherwise find something else. Will not repurchase.

Eye Makeup Remover -Lancome - Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Make-up Remover
rated 5 of 5
hotAsFiya 9/6/2010 10:35:00 AM

MUA highly recommended the Neutrogena makeup remover, and I had used it for years until i realized that some, if not all, my eye irritations were due to that particular product. I had been hesitant to use anything remotely similar to it because i was scared it would irritate my eyes. The hefty price tag of this eye makeup remover kept me away from trying to out also. But lucky for me, a friend happened to have a small sample bottle lingering around and I asked to try it. I am absolutely hooked. I love this product. I don't necessarily judge it only on its capabilities to remove heavy e/l or e/s on one swipe, as I could care less how many swipes it takes me, AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T kill my eyes! I have been using this for several days and my eyes have shown no irritation, while effectively removing my eyeliner, etc. I will be purchasing a full size bottle when I run out. This is totally worth the money for me.

Mascara -MAC - Opulash
rated 4 of 5
hotAsFiya 6/13/2010 8:40:00 PM

By far one of MAC's best mascaras as it does exactly what it's said to do. It adds volume, length and it is long lasting. Love the big brush and I don't find it too annoying. It's very similar to Diorshow mascara. My only problem with this is the formula. Because it is long wearing/lasting, it makes my lashes dry and they feel like little sticks! I also noticed that the day I wore the mascara, it didn't quite irritate my eyes like most mascaras do, but it did flake and I think a lot of the product got into my eyes and I felt like I was damn near blind toward the end of the day (I'm a contact lens wearer btw). I like the mascara but I don't think I will repurchase it. I also prefer to wear it layered with another one.

Polishes -FingerPaints - Putty in My Hands
rated 5 of 5
hotAsFiya 5/6/2010 5:13:00 PM

Why so many bad reviews on this??? Maybe it has to do with skintone??? I don't know but on my skintone this is the perfect natural every day manicure color. I absolutely love it and next to my ChG Exceptionally Gifted, this is a close 2nd favorite. On my nails it gives this subtle pearly finish, which I love even more. Will buy again!

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Blush in Pinch Me
rated 5 of 5
hotAsFiya 4/20/2010 10:26:00 AM

I would have never in a million years thought this blush would work on my dark tanned skintone. I'm around NC45-50 and have worn Gingerly blush forever but it had a tendency to turn very orangy as the day wore. I also looooved NARS Deep Throat, but I found that throughout the day, the shimmer in DT would become extremely overwhelming. It wasn't until I saw a gorgeous youtuber who was around my same skintone, rave about this blush. She also had the same issues with DT. In any case, I'm sooo happy I got this. This blush is perfect, gives a very nice subtle "flush", noticeable, but not overwhelming. There is no shimmer, at least not huge particles of it. I also love that I can mix this blush with any other blush (currently mixing it with Breezy) and/or bronzer and it enhances it beautifully. I highly recommend this!

Mascara -Rimmel - Extra Super Lash mascara
rated 4 of 5
hotAsFiya 4/15/2010 12:22:00 PM

I had to pick this mascara up after seeing some FOTD photos from a lovely MUAer whose lashes looked amazing and she thanked this mascara for it. First of all, I was puzzled yet happy that this was only 2.99 when most, if not all other Rimmel mascaras are above the 5.99 mark. Loved the traditional brush since I'm not a huge of those prickly sticky sharp plastic wands that seem to have gained popularity over the past couple of years. Now my thoughts about the mascara itself...well, the formula can be a tad drying. It can also clump if you attempt to apply several coats or if you try to brush over your lashes over and over, like I do. It does add amazing length but not so much volume. The black color in this is rather natural, not so dark as my L'oreal CArbon black, which can be a smudgy mess. This one hasn't smudged on me yet. This mascadra makes my lashes stand out while keeping them nice and clean and almost natural looking. This mascara is very similar to my ex-beloved Max Factor 2000 calorie without the irritation. The MF started to irritate my eyes a whole lot last year, not sure if they changed the formula or what but it doesn't matter since it's been discontinued. I had also stopped purchasing it due to the irritation. I am going to use up the one I just purchased and see how it goes...so far I think this is a repurchase and worth the 3 bucks!
