Skincare - Body -Olay - Complete Body Wash for Extra Dry Skin With Shea Butter

I found a 900 mL version of this in Target and have been using it for weeks now. Its fantastic for dry skin, smells nice without being strong. It leaves my skin smooth and rinses off easily. Definitely a must have for dry skin.
Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Body Smooth Sensation Daily Lotion for Dry Skin
horatia 5/5/2013 11:41:00 AM
Absolutely great body lotion. In general, I love Nivea products and this one is no different. My skin was looking dry and awful in the winter. I have been using this with and an Olay body wash. The improvement is noticable, my skin is smooth. It absorbs fast, is non greasy. The pump is really convenient and non messy. The only thing I wish is the smell was a little nicer, more floral or non existent. I cant quite make out what the smell is here.
This is a cute, pretty product to have. It tastes good, doesnt dry out my lips. But it doesnt make my lips as smooth as a boring homemade 'sugar + olive oil' scrub does, which is basically the purpose of a scrub. The sugar does cooagulate, it is messy. I dont see myself repurchasing it, I wont need to for a long time anyways.
Moisturizers -Olay - Active Hydrating Beauty Fluid - Original

What is that smell? The pink active hydrating fluid smells quite bad, looks greasy on my very dry skin in winter, and does not absorb well. It does hydrate OK , did not break me out , so points for that.
My dry, sensitive skin could not tolerate this toner. In general I dont use a toner, but I figured this was a unique toner with all its ingredients. Unfortunately, it irritated my skin and bumps appeared almost immediately when I tested it. Texture wise, its milky, thinnish and absorbs easily, I like the fact that she gives out samples, and explains each ingredient. So three stars for that.
Gels/Soaps -Nivea - Touch of Smoothness Tea Rose Scent and Almond Essence

Absolutely gorgeous scent that lingers for some time. Great lather and great moisturizing, and never too drying or too oily. The touch of happiness scent is stronger if you prefer that, this one is slightly more subtle but this entire line is a winner.
This starts out well (I have plush plum) with a gorgeous but subtle MLBB color and a natural sheen. Thats about it. The sheen wears off very quickly leaving a plummish, matte, finish that doesnt look good on my already dry lips. Quickly after that, the color wears off. It is more moisturising than Revlon lip butters but not hydrating enough to replace my lip balm and not pigmented enough for even a MLBB color unless I reapply a lot.
Pink sugar is the perfect name for this! Very feminine, sweet, fun, young and noticeable without being intense or sharp. I can rarely distinguish notes and cant smell any burnt licorice or even sharp vanilla notes like I get from BBW vanilla sugar (also a favorite). Its quite unique that it is a food based scent without making you smell like one dish or ripe fruit, just overall sweet and pretty.
I used the Target version of this scrub and it broke me out within a few uses. I have dry skin and just wanted to use a salicylic acid treatment + a scrub along my jawline to get rid of rough spots there. 2 lippies for making my skin soft (which any scrub should do at the least). But just not usable for me. I now use Clean and Clear toner for sensitive skin which is working wonders.
Edit on 2/1/2013: After using this for a week, its reached HG status. My dry lips are plumped out and healthy. And the smell and feel make it fun to use! This is a great lip butter with a gorgeous texture and smell. I have the raspberry rose lip balm and it is sheer but lightens lips just a teeny bit. It can look white/waxy if too much is used. It also gives a healthy sheen as mentioned in the review below, nowhere close to a gloss but very natural and quite lovely. I hope they bring out tinted lip butters next. I find it more moisturising than my revlon lip butter. I use my HG Burts bees lip balm first and then apply this on top to seal in the moisture. My terribly dry, chapped lips are looking moisturised and healthy, which is quite rare for me.
Highlighters -Becca - Opal Shimmering Skin Perfector

Love this highlighter! I got a generous sample from sephora and being the makeup noob I am, looked up Lisa Eldrige videos to learn how to apply it. It makes skin looks luminous, gives a sheen but is not sparkly, and it lasts through the day. It has not broken out my super sensitive skin, and the opal color is sheer enough to look natural even on my tan NW43 skintone. I use an ELF foundation brush just for this because it is narrow enough to place the product exactly on the cheekbone.
Moisturizers -Shiseido - The Skincare Day Moisture Protection SPF 15 Enriched
horatia 1/23/2013 2:27:00 PM
Excellent winter moisturizer with sunscreen (SPF 18 on the label). It is moisturising, absorbs fast, leaves a smooth finish thats neither matte nor dewy, and no white cast even on my skintone. It did not break me out, but it does clog my pores if I slather on too much and I am very clog prone. I usually avoid chemical SS because they make my skin look oily and dull over the day but this did not do that. If anything, my skin looks better. I prefer DS products for skincare, but this one is worth it. Edit 1: I checked my face on my car mirror (potentially the most unflattering mirror) and noticed a lot of tiny clogged pores on cheeks and forehead that were not visible indoors. I loved the smell and feel of this product but I stopped using it.
Shampoo -Dove - Nutritive Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Shampoo
horatia 11/28/2012 8:20:00 AM
Makes my fine hair soft and shiny, and it smells great which lingers for a day or too. But it makes my sensitive scalp itch, broke me out on my forehead and my hair becomes oily really fast. I will keep it for the occasional good hair day, but wont repurchase or use frequently.
This is excellent as a lightweight, hydrating moisturizer but average as a SS. The pros are it absorbs immediately, lovely finish, no break outs or clogs, no cast. The con for me is my skin does tan when I wear this even for daily use, when my sun exposure is (even cumulatively)low.
Shampoo -L'Oreal - Nutri Gloss for medium to long hair thats damaged
horatia 4/28/2012 11:03:00 AM
Awesome shampoo. I picked this up thinking a shampoo marketed for damaged hair should be gentle at the least. And it is. I put tons of coconut oil in my hair pre-shampooing, and any shampoo that removes the oil in one go is not gentle. This shampoo removes the oil with 2 uses (I still dilute it in my palms before using), smells awesome, leaves my hair silky and smooth with minimal breakage. I do not even use conditioner after this. One thing I do not like is it uses DMDM hydantoin as a preservative, so if you are sensitive, be careful. I am not a preservative free, organic hair care fan but there are gentle ones IMO.
