Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Skin Milk Facial Moisturizer

What???!!! $1.00???!! Yes, this great product was found at the Dollar Tree. I bought two bottles and am going back to stock up. It works great for hydrating my dry skin. The bottle is huge. Even when it was $4.99 at Target way back when, it was a good deal. It smells good. Just be careful when you open the cap- extra lotion tends to squirt out. A great deal!

Liquid -Sally Hansen - Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy Your Skin Foundation
hongthetran 1/9/2012 11:47:00 AM
I loooove this foundation. I purchased it at a CVS clearance sale for $3 and didn't have high expectations. It is normally $12-$13. I've been using it for a week now and it is awesome. This morning, I reached for it again and applied it quickly with my fingers and was soooo impressed with how creamy it was. On my face, it feels smooth and not sticky. The pump works great too- such a plus to have pump for drugstore foundation. The color is perfectly matched for my normally NC30 skin- I think I have beige but not sure. The product does look grayish in the bottle but it comes on really evenly on me- not too much pink or yellow like in other foundations. I have used all brands of foundation including MUFE and MAC and this has better ratings. I highly recommend this foundation.

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Finishing Kabuki

i love this brush and will be buying a few more. i find it just perfect for my cream blushes. here's what i do: i lightly tap the center of brush onto the cream blush. then i softly swirl brush on my cheeks. the outside part of brush hairs perfectly help blend the cream blush onto the cheeks. i haven't encountered any hair fallout. it isn't an easy travel brush as the handle is bulky. i like the handle though- it looks pretty and stands well on my makeup counter.

Blush -Laura Geller - Shade N Sculpt Baked Powder
hongthetran 11/1/2011 11:31:00 AM
This is my HG contour and highlighter- I got it on sale at Sephora in May 2010 for cheap when Sephora had it on sale- it is usually $35. It is currently on sale on hautelook.com for $21. I lost mine so I recently snatched up two more. I am southeast asian and wear NC30-NC35 in MAC. I also have dry skin. I find that this shade matches me well- not too orangey like other contour powders- just the perfect shade of dark brown. There is glitter in it but I find it disperses evenly onto my skin without looking too sheen. The brush is okay- not the best but works in a jiffy. I would not buy this for $35 but for $21- it is a good deal. The packaging sucks- the clear plastic part keeps popping off. Otherwise- this product would have gotten five stars.

Mascara -Max Factor - Vivid Impact Highlighting Mascara
hongthetran 9/13/2011 12:57:00 PM
Go get this at your dollar tree store NOW! I got one of each color, tried it, loved it and wen back for a few extras. I have black lashes and the colors show up great. No clumps. I use base, wait for it to dry then apply the highlight color. Then when that dries, I swipe my fav black mascara just on the part of my lashes closest to the lid. This technique really makes the highlight color pop and helps keep my lashes looking thick. Love this stuff.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Dickinson's Witch Hazel
hongthetran 8/19/2011 12:05:00 PM
I love this product. When I first started using it, I hated the smell so I had to plug my nose but now I don't mind it. I have really dry skin so how I use this product is this: Morning: I rinse my face with water I dry off Then I put some witch hazel on a cotton ball and in circular motion, rub off excess dirt, etc. off my face. Then apply moisterizer. It leaves my face moisterized and clean but not dry. I have not broken out at all using this product. Night I wash face off with cleanser Then I use witch hazel as a toner. Then apply moisterizer.

An awesome palette....I have many palettes including lorac, Mac, etc. And this one tops them all. I finally got mine with the shadow brush - actually a great brush. I love the sparkle e/s for highlighting the center of eye...the mattes are great for blending and creating natural or smoky looks. Seriously, this palette is all u need for work/school/night look.

Cleansers -Korres - Milk Proteins Foaming Cream Cleanser
hongthetran 2/11/2011 12:31:00 AM
tried a sample of this tonight and i love it. i like the foaming action but it did not leave my skin dry. the cleanser is very gentle but took all my makeup off. i could see the makeup come off as soon as the cleanser touched my face. i just massaged cleanser on my face then rinsed off with cold water.

Powder -NYX - Luxurious Black Label Compact Powder
hongthetran 11/11/2010 11:33:00 PM
I recently discovered this product and am so amazed by it. The powder is finely milled and goes well over foundation or by itself. I apply by spraying a bit of my Mac fix spray on an elf powder brush then swirling the powder on my face. The packaging is to die for...mirror swivels and compact comes in black lacy reusable tie bag. Love this product...

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - ColorIcon Palette in #249 Vanity [DISCONTINUED]
hongthetran 11/1/2010 10:05:00 AM
Love this palette. I've used all range of brands and found this little palette quite impressive. It's pigmented though not so tightly packed so a little loose meaning you end up wasting a tiny bit of shadow. Reminds me of the texture of elf shadows but more pigmented. But I did makeovers on three people with it and the colors worked on all three. Colors are also complimentary and good for blending. With my udp, it was great. Plus with walgreens 50% off, it's only $2.49.

Tools -E.L.F. - Tweezers
hongthetran 8/19/2010 2:56:00 AM
No good- frustrating to use because ends don't tightly grab onto hair without lots of finger pressure to hold ends tight. I am sticking to the pink tweezerman I got at Sephora- twezerman has never failed me once.
