Polishes -Butter London - All Hail the Queen
honeyjr 11/4/2010 6:57:00 PM
I adore this colour! A beige taupe with a little oomph in the form of very fine glitter. It is more like a shimmer IMO. I love it like I wanted to love Chanel Particuliere. The only complaint I have is it's on the sheer side so I had to apply 3 coats instead of the 2 coats I am normally used to applying with other nail colours. Goes on smoothly and dries fast. The colour just screams the word classy.

Polishes -Chanel - Particulière

I've never paid much attention to nail polish until I saw this colour. I was especially drawn to it after coming across the Lily Allen photo. I bit the bullet and bought it along with the Butter London polish in Fash Pack which I read was a possible dupe. Particuliere is a really nice shade, went on smoothly and beautifully with two coats but I found it too dark for my taste. Maybe it doesn't agree with my skin tone? Anyway to my surprise I found that the Butter London Fash Pack looked closer to the Lily Allen pic that I fell in love with and ended up a very happy camper after all.

Primer/ Corrector -Illamasqua - Satin Primer SPF 20

I looooove this primer! I have several others like OCC, Smashbox, Cinema Secrets, Graftobian & Shu Uemura UV Underbase but this one is what I reach for the most. Leaves your skin very nice and dewey. One of Illamasqua's standout products.

Moisturizers -Liz Earle - Liz Earle - Superskin Moisturiser

I decided to try the Liz Earle line after watching a yt video online. I ordered the trial kit and am really liking this moisturizer. I have been using the Shu Uemura Phyto Black cream but this gives my dry, parched face more moisture. It is better than the Shu at about half the price. My fine lines are quite diminished. It has plumped them up quite a bit to give me a smoother complexion and leaves my skin super soft!

Primer/ Corrector -Shu Uemura - UV Under Base DF

I just got this and have been playing around with it. I must say this mousse like product is not like other face primers. I've tried Smashbox, Cinema Secrets, MUFE HD, etc. and I definitely prefer this. I have been using the Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics primer and really liking that stuff but this mousse gives it a run for the money. Light and airy, it goes on like a dream, feels like nothing on and smooths out my skin. Even wearing it by itself evens out my complexion! It has some spf in it which is better than nothing and it smells nice. I have dry skin and since this primer seems to be mattifying, I have to be careful to moisturize really well before applying. The one thing I don't like is the price, but since it works so well for me, I just have to suck it up I guess lol.

Concealers -Eve Pearl - Salmon Concealer

I really like this concealer. It goes on really easily, is very creamy and eliminates the dark circles under my eyes really well. I can even apply it just by itself without layering foundation over it.

Lip Treatments -MAC - Hello Kitty -- Popster Tinted Lip Conditioner
honeyjr 7/19/2009 3:48:00 PM
Probably my HG lip conditioner. I have never been able to find something to heal my perpetually dry, cracked lips until now. I bought this a few months ago when the HK collection came out but only started using it recently. I don't know why I waited so long to try it. The only thing that would top this if it would be something that came in lipstick bullet form. One of the few products I really like from MAC.

Primer/ Corrector -Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics - Skin Primer

I thought I had found my holy grail in primers with the Cinema Secrets foundation primer. Not so, I ordered this with the equally impressive lip tars and pigments from this company. It is different in that it has a thinner liquid consistency than the gel type like Smashbox and CS. It does not have the slippery feel of the aforementioned primers. Just 2-3 small drops is enough for my face. You would never think it would get your face ready and smooth it out for your foundation but it really works well to prep your face. I love this stuff along with the lip tars and pigments. You can also add this to your airbrush foundation if that's what you use. It is my HG foundation primer.

Foundations -Kevyn Aucoin - The Dew Drop Powder Foundation
honeyjr 6/24/2009 9:36:00 PM
I just purchased this without really aiming to :-) I have never had a cream to powder foundation before but always wanted something I could carry with me in my purse just in case... I looooove this! I have dry skin and was apprehensive about the powder part showing up any dry flakes I may have. What I have really learned though, is the key to flawless foundation application on my parched skin is moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! I apply my Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Skin Primer (my HG primer) underneath and the KA foundation on top with my Hakuhodo G544 duo fibre foundation brush (my HG foundation brush) and woohoo! I have flawless perfection which feels like skin :-) Just knocked off a lippie for the outrageous price tag, boooo!

Makeup Brushes -Hakuhodo - Brushes
honeyjr 5/30/2009 9:13:00 PM
I heard about these brushes while watching a youtube haul video from the NYC Makeup Show last year. I googled the name and found out this company is the OEM supplier of MAC brushes. I went on the website and my jaw dropped at all the different brushes and the expensive prices...gulp. Anyway I bit the bullet and put in an order and have never looked back. These brushes are THE BEST anywhere. No wonder pro makeup artists rave about them. I am slowly building my personal collection. I met the proprietor of the US site at the Canadian Makeup Show last fall. He kindly brought in some specific brushes for me that weren't available here from their Tokyo HQ. These Japanese brushes really do make a difference with makeup application. So much easier for me to put on makeup now. I got my girlfriend hooked on them as well. She curses me for it due to how expensive they are, but just like me, can't stop herself from buying them lol.

Awesome brush cleaner. I've tried others before but keep going back to this even though it is expensive. Easily cleans my brushes and leaves them so soft.

Primer/ Corrector -Cinema Secrets - Ultimate Foundation Primer
honeyjr 5/30/2009 8:48:00 PM
This stuff rocks! I hated my Smashbox Photofinish so when my friend went to a store which sold Cinema Secrets, I asked her to purchase one for me. I love it. Not as thick as the Smashbox, goes on so smoothly and best of all does not pill like the aforementioned primer. A great base for foundation.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer
honeyjr 5/30/2009 8:44:00 PM
What a waste of money. I don't know if I got a bad one, but it pills like crazy! It's thicker than my Cinema Secrets primer and just rolls up into tiny little balls when I attempt to spread it across my face or even just on the back of my hand. I'm glad I found my CS primer which is a much thinner consistency and goes on smooth as buttah! LOL

Loose Powders -William Tuttle - William Tuttle Extra Fine Translucent Face Powder
honeyjr 5/30/2009 8:34:00 PM
My gf went to the Makeupmania store in Denver and picked up a jar for her kindly got one for me. It's a great loose powder, very soft and does not feel dry on the face like my MUFE HD loose powder. As an experiment, I applied the WT loose powder on one side of my face and the MUFE HD on the other half. I actually preferred the William Tuttle since I noticed it really was translucent. I noticed the MUFE HD went on just a smidge lighter on my NC35 face. I had barely touched my HD powder and now it has been relegated to the back of my makeup drawer. Best of all, this stuff is only $10. Cheaper and better than the MUFE!
