gross! had a 'makeover' at clinique and this was used. looked pretty dang good inside. as soon as i got into natural light it was awful awful awful. somehow made me look like a glowball and not in a good way, and also moved. its hot here so i saw where it 'pooled' into certain spots of my face, making it look cakey. i have normal to combo skin. after about 5 hours of wearing this little pimples started bursting forth from MY VERY CLEAR SKIN. all over my face. so disgusting. cant believe clinique can pretend they are non acne causing.
okay, i think only select girls can wear this. i personally love it but i am INCREDIBLY pale with both yellow and pink undertones. the texture is silky and hydrating. have super pigmented lips and this gave me that soft baby pink look. not 80's baby pink. just natural 'its your wedding day' baby pink. its definitely something i could wear everyday and would look AMAZING with a bold eye. with that said, ive tried it on a lot of my friends who aren't pale, and who dont have pigmented lips, and this pretty much didnt show up AT ALL on their lips.
okay i dont quite 'get' this blush. i am NW or NC15 at any given time and this make me look a little ruddy. i applied it on a bridal party of 3 girls who all had different skintones and it looked awful on all of them. just looked muddy and i ended up putting a brighter pink over it to compensate. i will keep working with it since everyone else seems to love it. i think i am more of a 'dolly' cheek girl. perhaps this is too 'matronly' for my taste. we'll see how it works out. isnt looking too good for this blush.
can't believe people said this is better than diorshow. NO WAY. this is awful with a capital A. cant WAIT to return it. volume is MINIMAL at best, lengthening is a little bit better than volume but i dont need lengthening. andt worst of all, it clumps up a storm! i have never had to blink onto my finger to get all that gunk off. so gross. makes my lashes look sparse and wimpy. the only positive was the smalller brush size. diorshow will always win.
Loose Powders -MAC - Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder
honeybees 5/2/2009 10:19:00 PM
SO IN LOVE WITH THIS!!!! I paid triple the price for La Mer loose finishing powder and this wins HANDS DOWN. I put on my studio sculpt foundation and dusted this all over with my 187 and my foundation has NOT MOVED ALL DAY LONG. This has never happened with ANYYYY other setting powder I've ever tried. I used this on a bridal party today and they ALL asked what it was. So glad they don't have to worry about their makeup melting off! Great product.
I am just not sure about this product yet. I DO love that they DO NOT MOVE. It is so much more 'fun' to put these on knowing I can still be active and talk and blablabla and they're not gonna move. I also DO NOT have any of the sick SLOBBERING mess that I got with all other crest whitestrips. HUGE plus to me. As for whitening factor, I can't tell anything yet. I've worn these once a day for about a week so far and I can't see ANY difference. This is about the time in the past when I gave up on the strips, so I'm gonna stick through the 14 days and see if they really do whiten or not. P.s. No sensitivity thus far.
WARNING PALE GIRLS!! Porcelain(the lightest) is NOT really porcelain. I put it on and my face was SO obviously DARKER than my neck. I put it on my mom and it matched her perfectly and she normally wears BEIGE foundations! AGH! I wrote TARTE about this to see if they plan on fixing the problem. Otherwise this foundation is PERFECTION. It goes on amazing, and covers EVERYTHING without looking like it! It is smooth, it makes your face supple and glowy and fresh, and smooths out any fine lines and LOOKS amazing. I have dry/normal skin and this was so refreshing to my skin!! Too bad I have to give it to my MOM!! I am hoping they consider making a REAL porcelain color!!
Wow. I'm surprised by all the people saying "AGH IT CUT MY FACE OPEN. BURNS BURNSSS"... really? Did we buy the same thing? Because I LOVE this. I have normal/dryish sensitive skin. I mixed up the jar before my shower and applied a quarter size to my wet face and did light circular motions. It felt NO different than any other quality scrub. It did however, start to MILDLY burn, because I had about 3 little blemishes that were healing near my jaw. Salt will burn any kind of not perfect surface, so. But it definitely wasn't awful and I left it on as a mask for another 8 minutes....... When I got out of the shower my face was glowing. No jokes. It sloughed off all the dead stuff and I was kinda shiny! Like squeeky clean shiny. Slabbed on some moisture and I was good to go! My makeup goes on amazingly after I use this. As for smell, smells like a margarita mixed with gasoline. But I dont appreciate any of the lush smells in general.
Lip Gloss -Fusion Beauty - LipFusion Color Shine in Sugar
honeybees 2/5/2009 11:16:00 PM
ehhhhhhhh. just okay. this color is 100% sheer on my lips and is a gorgeous gloss. super shiny but not sticky whatsoever. as for plumping, i only notice a slightly more 'pouty' look. nothing like "WHOA!"... it mostly smoothed out the lines on my lips. i never felt any sort of 'sharp tingle'..but definitely more like 'numb'.. the ONLY reason i would ever spend this much money on this gloss again is if i found the perfect color. i dont know where people come up with mauve. this is just another clear gloss.
Hair Styling Tools -Paul Mitchell - Paul Mitchell The Smoothing Iron
honeybees 12/5/2008 2:40:00 PM
My hair stylist uses this iron, so I went out and bought one at Trade Secret. Within 4 months, the iron was oozing and melting its black coating onto the plates and onto my bathroom FLOOR. Sick. I may have bought a dud, but Paul Mitchell offers a year warranty so I sent it off and am hoping they send back a non melting flat iron. For reference, I never took the temp past 320. Otherwise it was a great iron, gave me shine, and flattened very easily.
Hair Styling Tools -Farouk CHI - Chi Ceramic Flat Iron by Farouk
honeybees 9/7/2008 9:18:00 AM
okay. no thank you. i just purchased the chi turbo (with the red velvet on the outside of the plates) for 180 bucks at ulta. previously i have used various flatirons you can get at target, the most recent being the nano silver for 75 bucks. with that said, WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL WITH THIS IRON? it performs NO differently than any other flat iron i've used. my hair isnt any straighter, silkier, WHATEVER, than cheaper irons. did i just get a dud? it took FOREVER to heat up, and even on the hottest setting hardly flattened my long VERY FINE hair. i had to go over the same section at least 3 times to see any sort of effect. ive had different ones used on me in salons and my hair comes out stick straight gorgeous. i dont get it? i either got a crappy one or its all about what hair products you use with it. eitherway, not worth the money. returning and never looking back.
Loose Powders -La Mer - Skincolor De La Mer - The Powder - Poudre de La Mer
honeybees 9/5/2008 9:20:00 AM
Love love love this. Completely ditching my NARS snow for this! The translucent powder is extremely finely milled, so completely delicate, and dissapears onto your fingers! On my face it still sets my makeup perfectly but doesnt look powdery, if that makes sense. You cannot see it at all once it sets, only the hint of a healthy glow. Which, to be honest, after wearing thicker powders and having that really MATTE dry look, this is wonderful. It diffuses pores and lines and just looks beautiful. I spluge on good products, and this one was a definite splurge. I'm pretty sure I won't have to buy again for another year, the jar is massive.
LOVE THIS. immediately upon stopping use of my other foundation and using this my skin felt like it was BREATHING, and previously abundant breakout was dissapearing literally overnight after using this. cannot believe it! i also bought laura mercier oil free tinted moisturizer along with this and laura mercier is so incredibly greasy and disgusting! smooth operator is a little thick upon application but blends in seamlessly. my only teeny prroblem is that FACADE, the lightest shade, is just not light enough for my pale pale porcelain (cool undertones) skin. its not completely noticeable but if they made one shade lighter for the true ghosties i'd be set.
Powder -Prescriptives - All Skins Mineral Foundation spf 15
honeybees 8/2/2008 10:00:00 AM
I work for Prescriptives. I will tell you this is a hit or miss with most customers. In general, it is being well received and looks FABULOUS on a lot of different skin types. It is important to apply it right. For those of you complaining about it accentuating pores or wrinkles; you were probably applying way too much at one time. This will DIFFUSE lines and wrinkles and pores when applied in constant circular motions buffing it into the skin with VERY MINIMAL product shaken out in the lid. VERY LITTLE powder is needed to do a full face, we're talking maybe two dime sized amounts (one at a time).. This looks gorgeous on both young and old skin and really gives a fabulous healthy glow and 90% of the time makes skin look airbrushed. With that said, I cannot wear it. I broke out like a MUTHER about 3 days into wearing it. Sad, because it looked INCREDIBLE on and feels totally makeupless. I was looking at the ingredients with a neighboring counter girl and these truly arent straight up minerals, there are a lot of ingredients at the bottom of the list that are bizzarre names and could be the culprit for breakouts. I have yet to figure it out but I know that I am 99% of the time pimple free, but had like TEN pop out after using this product and I'm STILL healing from it. Note: If this doesnt work for you, try the anywear compact! You can apply dry with a brush, or wet with a sponge, and it will give the same flawless look and I've NEVER broken out with that product. It's great.
there is just SOMETHING in this formula that my skin hates. this is the second time ive tried it. the first all you need was last year. the second i bought 2 days ago and it was the 'newly updated' formula...and literally within the day my skin was breaking out. and i simply just DONT break out. my coworker adores this stuff and her skin looks amazing... i have normal skin. i'm still baffled as to what the problem is.
