Hair Color -Revlon - Colorsilk
honeybee2003 12/10/2010 4:50:00 AM
I bought this in Dark Ash Blonde and Light Ash Brown. My hair was originalIy too dark throughout the length and reddish/copper at the roots. So I bleached it, leaving me with white roots, some orange, and reddish length. I wanted to basically use the Dark Ash Blonde as a toner, and if it didn't work, the Light Ash Brown which I knew would cover everything. I applied the Dark Ash Blonde and it completely toned my hair to a beautiful dark blonde shade with absolutely no brass. I liked the color, but it was too light for my skin tone, so I added the Light Ash Brown for some lowlights. My hair is almost exactly where I want it to be. There are no red or gold tones whatsoever. It looks lit-from-within with brown sugar-colored/champagne highlights. This is the absolute best hair dye is you want to cancel any red or gold tones. They were 2 for $5 at Walgreen's.

Moisturizers -St. Ives - Collagen-Elastin Essential Moisturizer

I tried this product on my face, hoping for a rich night-time moisturizer. Unfortunately it broke me out and stung quite a bit around the eyes, even though I made sure not to apply it anywhere near them. I'm not sure what made me break out- maybe the fragrance. I have to stay I still love this product as a neck moisturizer. It's a great consistency and the smell is very comforting. I would repurchase for this purpose.

This color is gorgeous! It is very sparkly, and very nicely textured! I wish they would make a lot more colors in this sparkle version.. particularly a nice red shade.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask

Like many others, I tried this after reading so many positive reviews on this product. I mixed 7 aspirin with a bit of water, then added Cetaphil face cleanser to give it more "hold". I applied to my face, while gently exfoliating. At this point, it still held since it was wet. Then I let it sit on my face for about ten minutes, exfoliated again, and rinsed. My face felt instantly smoother, and looked brighter. I applied moisturizer as normal. I also used one aspirin as a spot treatment over two blemishes. One was a cystic acne, and the other a fading spot. When I rinsed it off, the cystic one shrank by 75% and the pain is 100% gone. There is still some red, but that can be covered easily enough with concealer. The other blemish is gone. I wholeheartedly recommend this. I can't wait to see what benefits I obtain over a period of time!

I can't rave enough about this brand. They have a large selection of gorgeous colors, first of all. Also I've managed to get them on sale or clearance, so the price is pretty much dirt cheap. They have great staying power also.

This is a great product. I absolutely love the smell. CW has some of the best smelling shampoos and conditioners, imo. Does a great job adding shine without weighing down.

Shampoo -Charles Worthington - Dream Hair Bright Future with ColorKeeper

The packaging on this product is really bad. Very awkward trying to open and close a screw-on jar. The smell is a bit overpowering, but it fades into a nice smell once you rinse out. Leaves hair very shiny.

I loved this product at first. The first day I used it was very good, it made my skin glow and went on very smoothly. The next day I put it on it made my skin itchy and gave it red spots! I will never use this stuff again.

Beautiful lilac purple color. Great staying power. Great for nails or toenails. Buy it up if you find it because it's being discontinued (at least in Harmon's, and they're selling for a steal- I bought up the last bottles!)

Polishes -Essie - Hot Commodity
honeybee2003 5/11/2005 3:20:00 AM
I love this color. I'm very into deep berries and reds right now, so this looked promising. At first I was a little wary of the glitter, but as soon as I put it on I loved it. This is the first Essie nail polish I've tried and I'm in love. I bought a bunch of shades from Trade Secret, at 80% off. Meaning less than two bucks a pop- who could resist. It goes on very smoothly. The color is so shiny, too! Definitely not like any drugstore brand I've tried. Even one coat looked good. Two coats produced an even shinier and deeper color. Not sure about chip-resistance, since I just put it on. But so far, so good!

This smelled too much like cucumber/melon to me. Not enough "cucumber".

I promised myself that after I found the right haircolor, I would write it so perhaps it could help someone else. Here is some background: My hair was originally brown, but the color was fading and looking very mousey. I decided I wanted a more golden look to it. I purchased Revlon High Dimension in Light Golden Brown, aka Knockout. The length of my hair turned out really dark, and it made my roots orange! Not brassy, straight up orange. So I ended up trying a couple of different hair colors, but worried my hair was becoming very damaged, and I wanted just a deposit hair color. So I went to Walgreen's and bought this hair dye in the color "Mocha". It didn't say anything about having golden tones (which I was trying to stay away from!) but the model on the boxes color had golden tones to it. I went home, tried it, rinsed it out and was impressed. It still had very light reddish tones, but it was way better than what I had before. It's been a week or so now, and all the brassy, reddish tones are gone. Now I have a golden tone. There's no red tint whatsoever. In the light, the tint is almost a blondish. This is the exact color I've been looking for. My only hope is once it fades out, it retains the golden look, and the brassy undertones come back. So far, I am thoroughly impressed.
