So far I am loving this foundation for 2 reasons - it makes my skin look exactly the way I WANT it to look when I'm wearing makeup (which would be light coverage, matte, better than my own skin). After reading the reviews on here about how hard it is to get out of the bottle, I just shake it first then put it on its side and give it a few good whacks, like you have to do with a ketchup bottle for lack of a better example. It pops right out. It's fairly thick, so I apply it with a flat powder brush (from E.L.F. - found it at Target for $6 and I have now purchased three...but that's another review) mostly in my t-zone area then I put a light application of loose powder over it. I do not find that it turns orange on me (I bought nude since I am a very fair skinned chick) and it does not make me any oilier than normal. I bought this bottle for $2.74 at Target - how can you beat that price?? I say give it a whirl! Not much to lose here. **Edit: I am in love with this makeup. I've had a few photos taken lately and I'm noticing that my makeup looks SO nice... I hadn't realized how what I was wearing before really wasn't cutting it until I saw these recent pix. Wowsers! It just takes a teensy amount applied with a brush and it covers perfectly without screaming "I'm Wearing Foundation". EXACTLY what I wanted!
Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Aquaphor Healing Ointment

I use this on my feet before I put my socks on and it makes my heels super soft. I also use it on my lips before bed - it lasts longer than Vaseline, in my opinion. I think it's expensive but worth it. I actually wish I had more uses for it - I love reading what other people use it for. MakeupAlley is very educational, actually!
Love Love Love this. I have used several tubes of this - I keep one on my counter and one in the shower plus it's so easy to travel with. I use this morning and night followed by a good dose of Equate brand Repairing Lotion (knock off of Proactiv Repairing Lotion), which I let soak in for awhile then I apply moisturizer (Cetaphil works great) - a MUST when you're using products that contain drying agents such as Benzoyl Peroxide, even low doses such as these. This regimen has been the most effective I've ever used, my skin is so clear and believe me, I've struggled with acne for years. This is so cheap at Walmart, it is definitely worth picking up a tube and giving it a try, just remember you must use a moisturizer with it or it can be too drying (that's how it clears up the pimples).
Skincare - Face -Equate - Proactiv knock-off system

This is for the repairing lotion - I swear by this product. I am on about my 4th bottle of it. I use it morning and night after cleansing my face (I use the Equate knock off of Clearasil facewash). I use about a dime size amount or less and really let it soak in. Also, if you have sensitive skin MAKE SURE YOUR SKIN IS DRY BEFORE APPLYING. Cannot stress that enough. After the lotion sinks in for a few minutes, make sure you apply a moisturizer - I use Cetaphil lotion. It may take a few weeks, but this will clear your face up like no other. I pretty much follow the acne.org regimen - you can research that and find out what I'm talking about. Basically, don't touch your face and when you DO, be as gentle as possible. If you're having trouble with acne, give this mild benzoyl peroxide lotion a whirl, following it with a moisturizer and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!
I'm in love with this color, I don't know if it's just bc it's December and I always wear red lipstick all month or what but WOW! I love it for all the reasons other people have given it less lippies - it STAINS and hardly needs retouched. To me, that's a perfect red. Plus it's very lightweight, not thick or gummy feeling. It doesn't bleed, and I don't wear lipliner! It's a very bright, noticeable, not for the faint of heart true red. I love it!
This fragrance rivals anything I've ever bought at Bath and Body Works and it's SO cheap. Lathers well, moisturizes, rinses off well - AND....I look forward to slathering it on in the shower because it smells so yummy. Do they make this in a bar soap? I am definitely checking that out! ;-)
In general, I like Revlon nail polish - they're just tried and true and are always pretty good quality. I wanted a dark, somewhat metallic color for fall and found this little gem a few weeks ago. I love it! It only takes 2 coats, is fairly chip resistant (I took off 1 lippie bc I wish it was more chip resistant but then maybe I'm just hard on nail polish??) and is a terrific fall nail color. Every time I wear it, I receive tons of compliments. It is definitely dark green with a metallic sheen - little flecks of sparkle, not too chunky. It's a little challenging to take off because of those flecks, but I would definitely buy this color/brand again. It's a trendy color, but so cheap I hardly thought twice about purchasing it even if it's just good for this fall. No worries!
BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
homersmom 4/28/2012 9:37:00 PM
I am crazy about this product! I am pretty makeup savvy but had never heard of BB Creams until I found a sample and coupon for this in a magazine. And wow am I glad I tried it. It covers just enough and seems to make my complexion glow without adding shine to my already oily skin...also makes my skin feel softer. Give it a try if you want a bit more coverage than tinted moisturizer. EDIT: I've been using this for almost 6 months and I haven't even thought about going back to any other foundation. When I was tan during the summer, I just bought the dark shade - no worries. I feel like this is MY skin, only better! If you're looking for a lot of coverage, this might not be for you, but if you want something that covers and enhances, try it out!
Lipstick -New York Color - Ultra Last Lip Wear -- 405B Blue Rose
homersmom 4/25/2012 2:05:00 PM
Gorgeous fuchsia color with a hint of shimmer. I wear this over Cover Girl Lip Perfection in Divine or Spellbound because they wear much longer but don't have any shimmer and I want both! Blue Rose doesn't last too long if applied by itself but it gives me the look I want when worn over a good strong, lasting pink lipstick such as the ones I mentioned. For a buck, you cannot beat this little gem! You do have to be careful when taking the lid on and off because it doesn't swivel down inside the tube all the way but what do you want for a dollar?!
I love this stuff. My friend recommended it to me when I was having so much trouble with weak, splitting nails this past winter. I put on one or two coats about once a week and then forget about my nails and have had tremendous results. My nails are definitely stronger and I only have one nail that is stubborn and still has one peeling spot at the tip, however I can't actually peel it - I don't know how to describe it very well. The point is this stuff works, it has made my nails strong and I would highly recommend it. I had no trouble with any burning, either. Give it a try if you have weak, peeling nails.
Love Love Love this cream! I am always so hesitant to try anything new because my skin tends to break out...but I am SO glad I tried this cream! I've been using it for a week now and not only am I not experiencing any pesky zits, I can actually see a difference in my skin! It appears to be smoother - the texture of it, I mean - and I am hoping that with continued use it helps diminish those teeny fine lines I see starting when I smile (I'm 48)! If you can get to a Costco, give this a try. You can't beat the price (I think it was $16.99) and if you don't like it or it doesn't work for you, just take it back (probably need the receipt...) and you'll get your money back. It's kind of a no-brainer!
Amazing little sponges! I had overlooked these again and again until I read reviews on here and WOW is all I can say. These tiny little rectangles puff up into full size sponges and they work every bit as well (or better!) than any sponge I've ever used. Love them! Great value, too. A definite repurchase and I highly recommend them.
I don't have a ton of experience with primers but I received a sample of this and loved it! I wear foundation almost every day and usually use whatever I pick up at the drugstore (L'Oreal, Maybelline, CoverGirl) so I'm pretty low maintenance. I have pretty oily skin and still tend to break out (ugh), so that's a deal breaker for me and I have to be really careful about what I use on my face. This product absolutely works like a charm. I LOVE the way it makes my skin feel - I would use the word "velvety" - and also the way it holds my foundation all day. I still get a bit oily later in the day, but my makeup still looks pretty fresh, which is saying a lot. I will definitely repurchase this primer, and I think the price is very reasonable, too. **ended up giving this one away....made me too oily...sigh.
I am so impressed with this cleanser. I saw it at Costco for under $10 but had never heard of it, so I checked out reviews on MUA and thought I'd give it a whirl. I'm in my late 40's and still have fairly oily skin and occasional breakouts - I feel like I have to baby my skin and be sooo careful about every product I use or else I'll have zits like a teenager! I am so glad I tried this cleanser! It does have a strong smell to it but it does go away pretty quickly, so I took off one lippie for that but as far as doing its job? Hello!!! My skin feels clean, soft, not tight at all and looks the best it has in a long time. I'd been using PanOxyl recently but it is so strong - I may use it in the warmer months when I'm super oily - but right now for cold weather, I am loving Sebamed. I've been using it for less than a week and I swear my pores even look smaller! This is the first time in years I feel like I may just be able to pull off a minimum coverage foundation such as a tinted moisturizer but I'm too chicken to try for now ;-). I say give this cleanser a try if you run across it!
Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Acne Free All-Day Acne Control Leave On Foam
homersmom 12/2/2011 6:04:00 PM
I just stumbled on this a couple of weeks ago and I love it! I have used SO many types of acne treatments and have always battled oily skin, so the thought of having one product to deal with both issues was terrific. Since I started using it, I have noticed a significant decrease in shininess during the day - I still have to blot but I don't LOOK as shiny if that makes sense. My skin looks smoother. I can sometimes feel it drying out my skin so I make sure I use my good old Cetaphil lotion when I need it - when my skin starts feeling a little "tight", is the best way I know how to describe it. I just purchased the night time foam and can't wait to try it! Looks like I stumbled onto a great thing here, and very reasonably priced. It only takes a small amount of product (about the size of a cotton ball) and it comes out of the applicator very smoothly, with control, which I like.
