Candles -Trish McEvoy - Wild Blueberry Vanilla Scented Candle
hollyfaery 5/31/2005 1:33:00 AM
I've tried a zillion brands of candles, all types of scents, and this is definitely on my Ultimate Top 5 list. The poster below me, Eric, knows what he's talking about. This is fantastic, high end stuff, for a price that is not inexpensive, but is not the highest out there, by any means. And yep, you do not need to even light this treasure to scent a room. The scent is INCREDIBLE, decadent, strong, delicious, and extremely true to its name. The glass jar and silver lid are elegant, classy and the perfect size. Hands down, one of the best candles and scents I've ever come across. Trish M's Vanilla Cream candle is also worth buying.
Another winner for me. I can easily smell both the cherry and the lime. And best of all, it's not an artificial cherry scent, nor does it smell like cough drops. It's just ... perfect! I'll definitely re-purchase.
Super-delish and downright realistic. This one easily makes my Top 5 list for My Lip Stuff balms. If you even remotely like coconut and/or lime scents, this one's for you. It's a staple for me. It's mostly lime, btw, with just a hint of coconut.
Yep, the raves are indeed deserved. This smells exactly like the real thing, and exactly like my bath & body products of the same name from Natural Esscents and Suds & Light. It's a delicious melange of tart 'n tangy fruits with that creamy edge that makes you think of a frosty ice cold half-gallon of the frozen delight. Get it ... you won't be sorry!
Gels/Soaps -Ulta - White Chocolate Mousse Moisturizing Body Wash
hollyfaery 3/6/2005 3:48:00 PM
This is, hands down, my all-time favorite moisturizing body wash EVER. It smells like pure creamy, decadently sinful white chocolate; it goes on like a dream; it actually moisturizes, unless many other body washes on the market, many which are quadruple the price; and did I mention the SMELL? It's just all-around fantastic! I bought multiple bottles to hoard, because, SHAME ON YOU, Ulta, for discontinuing this gem! **Actually, I'm not sure it's discontinued. I've heard that it's gone forever, but I've also been told it was limited edition for the holidays, which makes me hope and pray it will return Winter '05. And for that, my fingers and toes are tightly crossed.
I love to use this at night after a shower. It feels so nice, lush and luxurious on my face. I only see two downfalls with it; the price, and the fact it does not contain any degree of SPF, which is a must. But it's great for nighttime. Regarding the review at the bottom of this page by "redov" (whose account is suspended), I can't believe she thinks it feels like lard! What cream was she using? This isn't greasy one bit and is rather light and fluffy, while still being rich and creamy.
Lotions/ Creams -Tocca - Crema Da Corpo in Stella (blood orange)
hollyfaery 9/13/2004 2:52:00 AM
This is one of the freshest, most luxurious and fantastic scents I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. It's extremely crisp and true, and did I mention fresh? The texture of the lotion combined with the intoxicating scent of sharp greenness and succulent blood red oranges makes for a marvelous bottle 'o cream with which to pamper oneself. Expensive, sure. But worth it for its uniqueness. Try to find this exact scent elsewhere ... betcha can't! ;) I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of the perfume in Spring '05.
Lip Gloss -Wet 'n' Wild - Glossy Gloss - Candy Glaze
hollyfaery 9/4/2004 7:45:00 PM
Other than the rounded tip, I don't have any complaints about this at all! The taste is mild, if a little sweet. The shine and moistness are intense and lovely. The color is basically colorless, which is wonderful for applying over any lipstick that feel is too dry or that you want to make *pop*, especially icky mattes. The tube doesn't look cheap, just simple and fun. I'm thrilled with this one (Candy Glaze) and look forward to trying several other colors. At this cheap price, you can't beat it! Thumbs way up for me.
Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Papaya Body Butter
hollyfaery 8/31/2004 1:54:00 AM
This is just about THE most gorgeous fruity scent I've ever experienced! It's outrageously juicy and fresh smelling, and that's not even counting the excellent quality of the body butters itself. I scored the matching Papaya Dry Oil Body Mist on eBay, and what a treat it is to layer the two items together. You can't get any more fruity or tropical than this, which is so much fun in the hot weather. Highly recommended!
Gels/Soaps -Laura Mercier - spiced honey creme body wash
hollyfaery 8/31/2004 1:40:00 AM
This smells phenomenal. Rich, sultry, ooey gooey honey with the perfect amount of spice to jazz it up a bit. It's decadent and unmatched in scent, and the feel of it, as with all of LM's body washes, is such a luxury. That said, the price is outrageous, but I have to say it's worth it to treat yourself to this, even if just one time. I would repurchase for the exquisite scent. Now LM needs to come out with a Spiced Honey body butter, like she did with the Vanilla Creme Puff. :)
I love the three L'Occitane candles I have: Verbena, Clementine, and Miel (Honey). All three smell fab - very true to life. They throw off scent very well and I'd recommend them to anyone who appreciates good quality candles. I can't wait to try out the rest in the line, and I hope they'll expand to include more delicious and unique scents in the future.
I've been blown away by every candle and tart I've tried from AZW. The scent throw, the long-lasting & clean-burning soy, and the scents themselves are incredible. I have her tin candles in Pink Sugar, Melissa's Blend, Coconut Cream Pie, Italian Biscotti, Cherry Vanilla Swirl and Pink Cupcake, all of which ROCK. I've burned tarts in Mexican Cocoa, Blueberry Lemon Poundcake, Strawberries & Cream, Red Currant, Melon Mania, Blackberry Musk and Peach Magnolia Raspberry. I've loved nearly every one of them. If you have any questions about any of these scents, don't hesitate to ask me! I HIGHLY recommend them.
Scrubs -Bath and Body Works - Pure Simplicity Cocoa Scrub
hollyfaery 7/6/2004 2:55:00 AM
This is one of the most fantastic scrubs I've ever used! It's not too oily, not too harsh, not too anything ... rather, it's just perfect. The smell is divine, like cocoa powder/chocolate with a whisper of mint, and the scrub itself is of surprisingly excellent quality. It's really frosting-like, whipped and creamy, and the granules are super fine, not at all harsh on your skin. Hands down, one of the best and most delicious-smelling products I've ever tried from BBW!
Highlighters -Neutrogena - Shimmer Sheers in Mystified
hollyfaery 5/22/2004 9:55:00 PM
I'm loving this! I only have this color (Mystified) but would consider getting the other two. It would be great if it came in more colors. I tried it on my lips and it didn't provide enough color, but I put it on my cheeks (you only need a tiny touch) and wow! It immediately gave me that sun-kissed glow that I think we all want, minus the damaging UV rays. Just remember, use only a smidgen; otherwise, you'll end up way too bronzey. I also applied it to my eyelids, and it's okay there; but again, it can be overdone if you use too much. I like it best as a highlighter for my cheeks. :)
This is one of THE BEST foody/sweet-smelling candles I've ever had the pleasure of owning. I have the larger color bowl size, which is cute, unique and fun to watch burn. It throws off a moderate amount of scent - I would prefer more, but if you don't like your foody candles to be *too* overpowering, this is perfect for you. Just like vanilla cupcakes. Delicious!
