Masks -Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - 25% Mandelic Acid Peel
hipmamma 2/3/2011 4:07:00 PM
Definitely an HG product. I had been using MaMa lotion and getting decent results: fading of acne scars and overall evening of skin tone. But after two years I noticed that the results were starting to taper off. I decided to try the mandelic peel and I am sooo happy that I did. It's only 5% stronger than the MaMa lotion but it works soo much better. I bought the sample and it's a generous amount. I started out applying it once a week for two minutes, gradually working up to two times a week, per directions, leaving it on for 5 minutes each time. After rinsing, I apply MUAC DMAE serum, Anti-Aging eye repair and my sunscreen. I wish I had taken before and after photos! My skin is radiant, smooth and even toned. It's even fading the sunspots on my cheek bones. There is no dryness or flakiness/peeling (but I do think that I have very "tough" skin). I use MUAC's Gly-Uronic Acid serum on the days I don't use the mandelic peel.

Hair Styling Tools -Goody - Spin Pin
hipmamma 6/13/2010 5:40:00 PM
The best thing I have ever found to put me hair up! I'm a pastry chef with medium textured, slightly wavy hair, that's long. I have to have my hair up 90% of the time and I absolutely detest those plastic, jaw type clips. I use two pins and my hair doesn't budge. Also, when I want to create more waves, I just spray one my wave enhancing spray, twist up my hair, put the pins in and let dry. Voila! beautiful, beachy waves... as soon as I find more of these I will definitely re-purchase.!

Sunscreen -Alba Botanica - Green Tea Spf 30 Sunscreen
hipmamma 12/4/2009 1:03:00 PM
I live in Hawaii and use this as my facial sunscreen everyday. It is non-greasy, smells great, and is very water resistant. In the winter I find that my skin needs a little more moisturizing so I will apply this over my moisturizer but in the summer this is all I need.

Foundations -Perricone - No Foundation Foundation
hipmamma 6/12/2009 3:22:00 PM
I've been using this for two weeks now and I really like it, Pros: -SPF 30 -ease of use (pump works well, dispenses right amount) -convenient -blends easily Cons: -expensive I'm a NC 42 and this matches well. I love that in one step I can apply my sunscreen and foundation. It has a dewy finish. While it has minimal coverage, it definitely evens out my skin tone. This gives me a "natural but better look" for everyday. I use a foundation with more coverage for special events. I have noticed an improvement in overall tone and appearance of my skin since I've been using it as well. So at this point, even though it's very expensive I would repurchase. EDIT: I've gone back to Aromaleigh Voile; better coverage, better for my skin, less expensive

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - H2O Proof Blending Eye Pencil in 791 Black Chrome
hipmamma 1/20/2009 12:39:00 AM
My HG eyeliner! I've tried all the "long wearing" eye liners out there and this is the only one that lasts. I have small Asian eyes that are extremely oily. Nothing even comes close to the staying power of these inexpensive pencils. At this price I have all of the colors! EDIT: this has been replaced by Kiss Me Blinc eyeliner in medium brown.

Cleansers -Cosmedicine - Healthy Cleanse Foaming Cleanser and Toner In One
hipmamma 9/29/2008 4:51:00 PM
I will have to be the dissenting opinion on this one. This is totally my HG cleanser, toner and make up remover in one. This cleanser is fast, effective and replaces two other products. It completely removes all my waterproof mascara and leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft. I was using Re9 Arbonne cleanser and toner; this combo worked fine but if I can replace two products at have the price that's a no brainer!

Lotions/ Creams -Arbonne - Glow with it After Sun Lotion
hipmamma 8/17/2008 2:03:00 PM
Living in Hawaii means lots of beach time; I've been using this product for almost a year and I love it! The consistency is somewhere between an oil and a lotion . The smell is neutral. But what it does for my skin! It does literally glow....smooth, not sticky or oily slick. Once again my only complaint is the price.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Infallible Lip Gloss

I had the same experience: little flakes of skin, super-stickiness and not long lasting at all! Definitely not worth it. I much prefer Revlon's colorstay Lipglaze.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Age Shield Face SPF 70
hipmamma 6/22/2008 3:03:00 PM
I decided to try this after seeing it in a magazine. It didn't work for my face: it left that white cast to my medium tan skin and it never completely went away. BUT I didn't want to waste it so I started using it just on my neck and chest area. Voila! it actually made the wrinkle that was starting to form on my chest disappear. My neck and chest area has a much more. I live in Hawaii so I've been religious about applying sunblock but only SPF 45. Apparently the increase in SPF is what I needed.

Skincare - Face -Aveeno - Positively Ageless Rejuvenating Serum [DISCONTINUED]

I so wanted to like this! After all the positive reveiws I decided to try it; using it as a replacement for the Arbonne RE9 serum. The price was right and I loved the semi-matte finish it left on my skin. But I started breaking out in little white bumps along my chin and jaw line within two days of using it. Purging right? just wait it out and see if it gets better....... A week later it was worse! I had to stop and throw it away. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and go back to the Arbonne serum.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze
hipmamma 6/22/2008 2:38:00 PM
I love this product! It actually has some staying power (especially for a gloss). It's nicely moisturizing and the colors are pigmented but still sheer. My only complaint is that it is sticky. I find that a light hand is what's needed to keep the stickiness factor down. I bought the forever fig, a sheer neutral brown with coral undertones and suede a pinky, golden champagne coral that gives me nude lip.

I just ordered my third bottle. Definitely an HG product; I use it pretty much daily (along with my SPF 30 sunscreen); under my makeup (I use MMU) I've never had a reaction to it; no purging or breakouts. I have oily skin and live in Hawaii and this keeps age spots and melasma to a minimum; it also fades the occasional scar due to acne. I never want to be without this!

Eyes -Ardell - Brow & Lash Growth Accelerator Treatment Gel
hipmamma 4/19/2008 2:19:00 PM
I have very short, skimpy lashes. The story: when I was a newborn my mother was told that if she cut my lashes they would grow back thicker and longer. They never did!! I've been using this for 4 months, not as consistently as I would like but 3- 4 times a week and it has made a dramatic difference in the length and thickness of my eyelashes. I've also noticed new eyelashes growing in where I previously had none. I cannot recommend this product enough!

First, I am not a rep and I don't have any friends that are reps. I have never been to a "party". I received this entire kit as gift and I honestly had a bias against the products because they were so expensive. All that being said this stuff really works! I've been using everything in the kit except for the day cream and the night cream for over eight weeks. I've seen a noticeable improvement in tone, radiance and eveness. At first I thought my normal/oily skin would breakout because the products are all very rich and emollient but it didn't. In fact, the entire time that I have been using the products I have not broken out once (and I usually get the hormonal "once a month" breakout like clockwork). The smell is neutral, niether good nor bad. The packaging is terriffic. I took off a lippie because it's just too darn expensive!

Powder -Aromaleigh - Voile [DISCONTINUED]
hipmamma 10/22/2005 3:33:00 AM
My HG foundation! Have tried others brands of MMU and this is my favorite; I'm a pastry chef working in Hawaii and this stuff lasts through an entire day/night in a hot kitchen. I use the Porcelaine Mattifying powder as a primer and Pure Cover as a concealer. I apply my sunscreen, let it soak in for a few seconds and then apply the Pure Cover as a concealer. I don't have to "buff" with Voile; just apply with my kabuki brush. The coverage is light to medium but very natural looking with no cakey-ness at all. I love how fast my make up routine has gotten since I stopped "buffing". I do find that since I've been using Oil of Olay's microdermabrasion kit that this goes on even smoother. The color selection is very good and the samples are large and inexpensive. Being of Asian descent I have had a difficult time finding good color matches but this isn't the case with Voile. I'm a perfect 3Y/3L.
